Call me clueless, but I really don't get the point of "The First Three Gears". I mean, what if you already have the CDs? I don't,but I'm contemplating getting it...
Kate: I really like Blame it on the Girls and Rain. I haven't listened to We Are Golden yet, though, because the music vid creeped me out. I'll have to look up a version with just the lyrics later.
I just realized that you're a MOD! Coungratulations!
Kat:It was on this broadcast called "The Sound of Light". It's only on Saturday nights and the music is really contemporary compared to what's usually on the local broadcast.(Casting Crowns,Chris Tomlin, etc.) I've heard people calling in as far north as Michigan, but I don't think it reaches you.
Once around 2pm,they played Dare You to Move on the regular local station. I was really surprised, and then the next day they played This Is Your Life. It was a plesant surprise, but it was a little weid because the only SF song the usually play is Gone. Once my mom heard that song, and I turned it up and said "Oh,it's SWITCHFOOT!" and start humming/singing along. I don't think she liked it though.
(btw,congrats on 2,900 posts! )
So,I saw Swichfoot's video for "New Way to Be Human." They all looked so different! And Jon had a goatee with short hair! Creepy. Kinda reminds me of someone, but I just can't figure out who! And goodness, those flashlights were HUGE! Must been made in the late '90s or something...
That goatee is still creeping me out. I'm gonna counter it with Stars or Oh! Gravity or Awakening.
I almost forgot! A really good real life friend of mine and I have been e-mailing each other, and I've been telling her about Relient K and Deas Vail and Switchfoot and The Rocket Summer and NarniaWeb.(I'm actually trying to get her to join.)
Anyways, she said that Relient K sounded really cool,so I sent her the "Must Have Done Something Right" music video this morning. She hasn't responded yet,but I'm still soooo excited! Oh,and we've been sending each other pictures and she said Matt Theissen's hair is cute. I think that's a good sign.
^lol
Call me clueless, but I really don't get the point of "The First Three Gears". I mean, what if you already have the CDs? I don't,but I'm contemplating getting it...
I almost pre-ordered it a month or so ago b/c it was $17.99 with a Relient K sticker, license plate, and air refreshener...but my mom wouldn't let me buy it . I'm hoping the extra items will be available on NRT .
Elsendor: welcome to the thread! I like all those bands you listed
And Wes wins in a Dave/Wes competition by a long shot.
Definitely .
^Air refreshener? What scent was it?
Oh,cool about the liscence plate! I already have a TAN one,so maybe I should start a collection.
TRS is going to be in state today. And I didn't even realise it 'til Sunday. Oh,well, maybe the next tour?
Oh,and the Dove Awards are this Sunday!!! Can someone please post a link to where you can vote?
No idea! Lol that would be cool
I don't have a link to Dove Awards but taking your quiz inspired me to make my own! Here's one I made about Adam Young quotes
http://www.quizyourfriends.com/take-qui ... 78973&a=1&
Hehe, yeah I just saw where winterlife took it,and she said "You listen to too much Relient K" on that one question.
I don't think anyone got the "I AM A FONTAMILLAS!!" joke.
I actually don't think you can vote anymore in the Doves. Grr.
Lol
No I didn't get it...but I don't know enough about SF to know probably
Yeah probably not
^You have iTunes right? Go subscribe to their podcast.
In one of the SF podcasts, the band goes to the Philipines, where their keyboardist/guitarist Jerome Fontimillas was born. They're trying to find his relatives, and told them to e-mail them at iamafontamillas@switchfoot.com And one time of a SF concert, someone brought a sign that said "I AM A FONTAMILLAS"
Speaking of iTunes, you can buy "Strong Enough to Save" by Tenth Avenue North today only(well,at least until the album comes out anyway) there. Not buying it.
Saving up for someting else. Besides I already pre-ordered the cd.
Yeah I did subscribe. Don't remind me. For some stupid reason they switched video cameras or something and now the podcasts don't work on my iPod . But sounds funny, I'll watch it some other way .
REALLY! You know I should really read their email updates when I get them, I'm sure they mentioned it in the one I got today . I'll buy it, I don't know if my mom is going to let me buy it yet...spent too much money on CDs lately, besides I have other CDs I want more at the moment, although I'm DYING for this one as well .
I just finally saw the promo video for Soulfest 2010! yay!

HelloHurricane!!! I've missed you! Needtobreathe?? Ooh,nice!
Hehe, thanks! I've missed being on here... I'll be on more over the Summer, though! Yeah! I had a great time! They were amazing!
HelloHurricane, I'm really excited about HoH's new album. Did you see that video clip of them that they posted while they were working on the album, where they were singing a negro spiritual? Actually let me see if I can find a link... http://www.youtube.com/user/houseofhero ... Y5wupiXfWg
Haha, yeah, I have seen it actually! It is hilarious! I love when Tim says, "I'll hit you too hard!" Too funny!
I have a song that a friend & I REALLY like called The Promise by Plus One! It's so good! So, do you mean that you think those guys have turned away from the Lord or something? Or they just don't make the genre "Christian" music?
That is a pretty good song. I know all of their songs because my sister was seriously obsessed with them for a looooong time. Well, I'm really hesitant to say that they're not Christians anymore because they didn't say that directly. I can't remember the interview, but it seems like they said something that gave an impression of them not believing in a personal God...just sort of a "Man in the Sky" who watches us, but doesn't interfere. I may have completely and totally confused what they said, but that was my understanding. :/
The NEEDTOBREATHE concert was unbelievable! It was their hometown show (Charleston, SC) so they seemed really happy to be there and looked like they were having a blast! Matt Hires opened, and if any of you like acoustic-based music with simple (in a good way) lyrics I definitely suggest him! He was great and played a surprisingly long set (to me...). About 7 songs, the best part of his set to me was when he covered, "Hang up My Rock'n Roll Shoes." He sounded great! Next was Will Hoge who I will skip over because I didn't really enjoy his set...it was ok, just nothing special (plus, I don't like his music as well as Hires and NTB) We had to leave before the concert was finished because they started late (and it was a 4 hour drive home...), but here are the songs I got to hear (not really in correct order):
The Outsiders
Won't Turn Back
More Time
Girl Named Tennessee
Prisoner
Something Beautiful
Through Smoke
Lay 'Em Down
Stones Under Rushing Water
I may have missed one or two...Before they played "Won't Turn Back", Bo said that they were serious about their fantasy football and that they had some sort of bet that whoever won would get to sing a song of their choice (I think this is the jist of what he said...people were talking loudly beside me. ). So he sang "Won't Turn Back" and NAILED IT! His voice is a little less rough than Bear's and it sounded great! Anyway, because we had to leave early I think I almost have my Mom convinced to let me go (or take me to) their concert on Friday, which is actually closer to where I live than the other one.
Oh, I'm hoping to get to go to a music festival called Atlanta Fest (over 40 artists listed here). It'll be this Summer, and I can't wait! A few of the artists that will be there are: Skillet, Britt Nicole, Brandon Heath, Red, etc.
This is probably my longest post on this forum, yet.
Icon/sig by me
in that link I posted on my above post, Switchfoot's song "Needle And Haystack Life" is used for most of the video! yay!

Sounds like you had alot of fun at the concert HH! I hope you can go to the other one as well
Libby: awesome- I'll have to watch it later
Ali: Yeah,I've got that problem too. Did you subscribe to Tenth Avenue North's podcast?
I've become slightly obsessed with podcasts lately. Can you tell?
HelloHurricane: Yay!
Aw,they didn't do "Hurricane"? *sniff* I love that song.(Isn't it ironic how many songs there are about hurricanes? Why not write a song about tornadoes?) That's still a great set-list though.
Wow,that's just so cool about Bo!"Won't Turn Back",is such a beautiful song. I can hear him singing BGVs sometimes, but to actually hear him sing solo! Ooh,I hope he wins! Hehe.
Just curious,which member played piano/keyboard?
Btw,what you said about Bear and Bo reminds me of Jon and Tim Foreman.
And I hope you can convince your mom!! Two Needtobreathe concerts in one week? You lucky thing.
Oh,my gosh!! Tenth Avenue North,Sanctus Real,Britt Nicole,House of Heroes,Brandon Heath, and Skillet?!?!?!? You should totally go!! My summer thing is three days long, but my group is only going to go one day. My youth leader wants to see Chris Tomlin and I want to see tobyMac and Tenth Avenue North. But Chris Tomlin and tobyMac/TAN are performing on two different days.
Speaking of Tenth Avenue North, last night I was at Wendy's with my youth group to help raise money for camp, and my youth leader played her copy(copied from my orignial) of Over and Underneath. I was singing along(of course) and somehow I started talking with her 23-year old daughter about the band, and I told her that Jason and his wife Melissa are going to have another baby girl. Well, she laughed at me and called me a stalker. And I told her I would get her Kat's sheet music for "By Your Side"...
But on a lighter note...*tries to think of a lighter note*...oh! I went to my great-aunt's church last week for this thing by YWAM called "Encounter". And when it was over "Meteor Shower" by Owl City started playing! And Owl City kept playing! I actually talked with one of the guys there, and we had a really great chat about music.
Oh,and I'm thinking about cutting my hair like Rachel's.(the girl in my avy.) Yeah, that doesn't really belong in this thread. *heads off to makeup and hair*
One more thing. GUESS WHAT??? He Is We is making an ALBUM!!! I'm so excited!!
Lark: yep I'm subsribed. I wish all their youtube vids were on their podcasts though
Lol I went through that phase . I downloaded every podcast I came across . Not as in to them anymore though
Aww I hope you can see TMac and Tan
Lol, it's not like you have to search all over the internet for info like that- they tweet it !
Oh that's cool
That would look nice . Is their album going to be under a label, or self-released?
My mom gave me some extra chores to do, for which she will pay me, therefore I am going to preorder TAN's CD and buy the deluxe edition of Do You Feel .
Btw, I bought "Strong Enough to Save" yesterday and I love it! It feels much more natural and organic than "Healing Begins", not that I don't love that too . I'm so excited for their next album! I've been rather obsessed with them lately ...
Hawk Nelson is going to be at Soulfest! yay! that makes me so happy!
*Libby wonders if Hawk Nelson's bass player will remember her from their previous meeting*
