In no particular order -
God - Have you read His bestseller?
C.S. Lewis - I love his way of explaining things. Often when i'm reading one of his books, i'll be thinking something like Exactly! Why did i never think of that/think of it like that before?. A very readable writer, too.
J.R.R. Tolkien - I don't know what it is, but he managed to write in a "high-sounding" sort of way without being irritating. He had a great sense of humor as well. Add to this great writing style a bunch of fascinating stories, and how could he not be a favorite author? Of mine, at least.
Agatha Christie - I find it hard to re-read mysteries once i know the solution, but she makes me at least want to try. She didn't focus so much on the mystery that you weren't interested in the characters, nor so much on the characters that you wondered where the mystery was.
Diana Wynne Jones - Howl's Moving Castle and Dark Lord of Derkholm are probably my favorite books by her. Very imaginative writer, and in each re-read i find something i've missed.
Richard Adams - Few people can invent a whole civilization and make it interesting, particularly when it's a civilization of rabbits, but he did. Whenever i put down Watership Down or Shardik (not as well-known as WD, just as good and not about rabbits incidentally), i could go back to the beginning and start right over.
Suzanne Collins - I loved both The Underland Chronicles and The Hunger Games trilogy. Her style of writing is not as "classic" as some of the other people on my list, but it pulled me in. Her characters are probably the best part of her books, though her plots are very inventive as well.
Frank Peretti - His method of switching character viewpoints repeatedly during tense moments is a bad mix with my tendency to skim faster when i'm engaged in reading, but it just means there's more for me to find the next time i read.
Do not be daunted by the enormity of the world’s grief. Do justly, now. Love mercy, now. Walk humbly now. You are not obligated to complete the work, but neither are you free to abandon it. - Rabbi Tarfon
I am adding Suzanne Collins to my list. I really like the Hunger Games.
Also, I like Blue Balliet. The Wright Three series is brilliant.

"Why? Do I look older?"
Yay, some of my favorite authors have been mentioned.
C.S. Lewis - Of course
J.R.R. Tolkien - Though, going to have to reread LotR
John Flanagan - The only secular author I've stuck with.
O Henry - Love his short stories . . .okay, and second only secular author I've stuck with.
Terri Blackstock - Double Minds is my favorite.
Bryan Davis - This guy has an amazing imagination
Stephen Lawhead - His version of Robin Hood (Hood, Scarlet, Tuck) is excellent . . but I'd not recommend his other books so far.
Frank Peretti - I love his Veritas series
Martha Finely - Only read the modern ones
That's all I can think of now.
