Dunno if I'd call energy drinks a fad really... Hm, maybe. But yeah. ;)) Normally I wouldn't think of food and such as fads.

I don't dislike them terribly. ;))

Does anyone remember Furbies? They were supposed to be cute but I found them freaky. Still, I wanted one just because everyone else did. :P

More recently Crocs and Uggs have been a fad. I think both shoes are ugly and can't imagine why they were so popular.

There are fads in slang, too, just like in fashion and toys.
Take 'random' in 07-08 and 'epic' more recently.

Oh yea, Valiant_Lucy, I remember bell bottoms and bell sleeves. I thought they were SO cool but my parents wouldn't let me get them.

Those pony-tail holders with the balls were a fad. You know where you wrap them around your hair and then put the one ball through the hole in the wrap. My mom used to put those in my sisters and my hair and you'd always play with them and snap yourself in the head with the balls. Ouch! You can still find them in places but they're not popular like they used to be.

Well I know Marry Kate and Ashley were a fad when I was younger among girls, personaly I hated their shows... Mostly cause I'm a guy... The've kind been replaced with Hannnah Montana which I dislike to. A fad I've seen coming back is Startreck... What else... Well when I was a little kid (matter of perspective) everyone I knew was patriotic, it was soon after 9/11 and everyone was seething with hurt, greif, anger, and all this lead up to everyone loving out country more... Don't see that as much a few years later.

If you ain't first, you're last.

Oh yeah I have a ton of those ponytails ball things :p . I bought a ton when I was younger...

Yeah I didn't like either Hannah or MK&A...at least Hannah Montana is going on it's last season, although I'm sure Disney will come up with another "great" show to replace it :p

I don't think that Barbie is really a fad. Barbie's have been around for awhile and kids are still playing with them as much as ever, I think.

and for some reason, The Beatles are becoming a fad with teens! I have no idea why.....it's not my style...... :D

You can attribute that entirely to the video game "The Beatles Rock Band".
I still think Harry Potter can be considered a fad, or that every new movie for it starts the fad anew.
I also can't stand the twilight/vampire fad, especially when all of a sudden vampire romance novels start to appear everywhere, which, coincidentally, are also written in first person from the view of a female protagonist. Yeah, like it's a good way to start a novel by trying to copying something successfull.

Also keep in mind that Disney's super-advertising and super-merchandising tried to create a Narnia-Fad, even though they didn't succeed as much (Come on, Narnia Underpants and Pillows with Bens huge face on them? )
