Half the time I don't know what the latest fads are, but when I find out I notice it everywhere and I get really annoyed, lol. When I was little, I took great pride in hating anything that was popular. I think I'm still kinda that way *chuckle*
Twilight, HSM, The Jonas Brothers, Hannah Montana...funny how all of these fads run in the tween crowd.
Growing up, I went through several phases of obsession over various things. It was Spider-Man for a few years (before the movies), pokemon, and the Star Wars prequels to name a few.
Haha I do that too. I've written so many notes to people that like Twlight. The only bad thing about doing this is alot of people hate you . I wrote a note to someone that was in my younger sister's play. He was obsessed with Twlight and would just start randomly crying while thinking about New Moon. So I wrote him a list of reasons why Twlight was bad before I met him. Then I went to my sister's show and the first thing he shouts to me from across the hall is "That is un-American!" ! i could not believe he said that, and then we had a whole long debate and whatnot...anyway, is still hate Twilight
When I was in grade two, the biggest fad was the Spice Girls. *shudders* To this day, I have never heard one song by them, but I pretended to like them just because all my friends did. There was Spice Girls gum and everything.
Titanic was another thing that everyone seemed to be obsessed with. Of course, I was about seven, and just getting into Star Wars at the time and therefore could not understand why people liked it so much. I thought it was totally boring.
Right now Twilight is definitely the biggest fad, I think. Harry Potter is still pretty popular too, however that's been around so long that I don't know if it could still be called a fad. As much as I love her music, Taylor Swift might just be a trend too. I guess we'll see how long her popularity lasts.
Oh, and don't forget Avatar! *yawns just thinking about it*
Yeah Taylor Swift. I liked her from the beginning and then it was like *poof* she's a huge superstar! And don't like her so much anymore, but it is amazing how popular she is right now...
I used to be totally obsessed with American Girl.....I think a lot of people were......and still are! it's a pretty big industry!

that was a fad. I don't think it's as popular anymore...
You can't really call harry potter a fad because it has gone on for like 10 years at least(first movie came out).
I like watching the HSM movies once in awhile but yea I too hate all those shirts and pants and bags and everything with "I love Troy" on the side. Excuse me while I go find something to puke into.
I don't think I've ever liked something purely because others do. That said, back in the early to mid-90's, in primary school, Tazos were all the rage. Also, the Batman and Batman Returns collector's cards were a hit when the movies came out. I remember how rare the gold framed and holographic cards were, the silver ones were even pretty good. Ha, ha! The memories.

I actually liked pokemon(i like it a far while after the fad finished). I had all those pokemon gold, silver games.
Yeah it's ok to like a movie but you don't have to worship the actors/characters...
I think that michael jackson is a fad afte rhe died everyone liked him again.
I don't think a person can be a fad and MJ's been popular since the mid-70's.
I didn't envy the man himself (poor guy was pretty lonely) but I loved what he did for music and dancing.
