Finally got around to watching the 1st and 3rd episodes. So good! The 2nd episode was easily the weakest but they were all very good. I love Benedict' Cumberbatch's portrayl of Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as Doctor John Watson. Such great casting, acting, mysteries, scripts - everything. Sherlock's hyper intelligent reasoning - amazing! I also loved how he became dangerous and sulked when he was bored and had no crimes to solve. Genius. Also, there was some great suspense and even some good laughs. I have to say Moriarty's portrayl really threw me. He was very different to how I imagined but that's not necessarily bad, he'll just take some getting used too. What a cliffhanger though! Crazy.

My ratings for the mini-series:
Ep. 1 - 9.5/10
Ep. 2 - 8/10
Ep. 3 - 9/10

Currently watching:
Doctor Who - Season 11

I hope you enjoy it!

YAY!! Good job, Mrs. Holmes! It's really sad, but good! Good song choice, too. I love how you made Sherlock's double take at Molly look like he was really noticing her. I like how you had the black & white scenes be the past: neat idea. I think it looks really good for those clips coming off of youtube! Where are the episodes on youtube, though? All I can find is the unaired pilot. ;;)

ha that's a cute vid! :P Well, some of those clips are from the unaired pilot, and yes the episodes were cut in some parts. It wasn't because of bad content at all--it was just because the episodes would've been much too long to show on US TV stations. On the DVDs, you can watch them fully unedited! :D

Oh, good! #:-s I was kinda worried there for a while! Hopefully I can buy the DVD's now! :D Was the stuff cut full scenes or just lines & stuff?

Just out of curiousity, how long were the episodes shown on US TV stations? Here in Australia, the episodes averaged 90mins each.

^they were the same here: 90 minutes long. I'm not sure how long the unedited versions are though.

I was so excited to find Sherlock fans on narniaweb! I'm going to be suffering Sherlock withdrawal when the episodes come down from PBS Masterpiece in a few days. Series 2 can't come soon enough. I found some scraps of information from BBC about what we can expect here. http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pressreleases/stories/2010/08_august/28/bbcone.shtml (The Sherlock stuff is under "Recommissions.") Sounds like they're hinting at Hound of the Baskervilles and Final Problem to me. There's my deduction for the day!

Aww gee, thanks Pendragon! Whoops, I hope I didn't make it too sad, I meant for the ending to be happy! :-s Thanks a lot, it's good to know I did well! I think someone did post all the episodes, but YouTube removed them, darn it. Some lines and quite a few scenes were cut. I don't know why--they were all great and should've been in there.

Thanks for the update, Ellie2. :D

IloveFauns, I'm sorry, but I'm really not sure. I don't see why you couldn't get it now, though. I mean, they went straight to DVD once the series was out. Perhaps an internet search would help?

Oh, and here's another great quote from Great Game:

*When they're investigating Alan Woodbridge's murder by the water, right before the museum scene, and Sherlock has done his brilliant deductions*:
John: Fantastic!
Sherlock: No, meretricious.
Lestrade: And a happy New Year.

=)) I absolutely love that little exchange, but I'm not quite sure what Lestrade meant by that. Ideas, anyone? ;)

I can't figure out what was cut. :- Everything seemed to flow so well, & it didn't seem like anything was missing. What happened in the scenes that were cut?

I think the idea is "meretricious" is supposed to sound like "Merry Christmas." Lestrade must be a fan of puns. ;)

Hahaha, gotta love Lestrade, don't you? :p

I was wondering, does anyone know of any good websites that have high-res screencaps from the episodes? I found one so far, but it only has a few pictures. Any suggestions? ;;)

P.S. "Oh, it's Christmas!" Merry be-lated Christmas, everyone! Hope you all have a great holiday!

I actually take my own screen caps by taking a picture of the whole page, then cropping it. I have Picasa, & when I take a picture, it goes straight to a folder. You can also do it if you have "Paint" (which you can download for free). All you do is take a screen cap, go to Paint, click on "Paste" at the top. If you don't wanna do that, there are quite a few at fanpop. But I don't really recommend it though, cause they only have pics from The unaired pilot & "A Study in Pink". I really recommend taking your own. You get the ones you want anyways. ;))

My friend got the DVD's for Christmas! :D So were gonna watch 'em all! YAY! :p She said they have commentaries on them too!

The one I made, the Sherlock/Molly one? I'll repost the link for you:

Enjoy! :D

Thanks for the advice, Pendragon! I'll have to check out FanPop, though, as I don't own the DVDs...yet. ;) Oh yeah, I heard the commentaries are hilarious! The Great Game has Ben and Martin commentating, and I bet that has to be real cute. ;))
