Oh wow, thanks for all the welcome backs! I should solve mysteries more often. ;)

Wait, what, a son?! Where did it ever say that Irene had a son? :-o But either way, I don't think BBC's gonna go all out with the romance. And as for John and Sarah, I thought that the line meant they weren't like that. Err...I don't know. I kind of give up until the next season comes along. Hurry up, fall! >.<

Oh wow, now I seriously want one of those BluRay players. :D

Ok, I have finally seen the first new Sherlock compleatly through.
I think it had it's moments of brilliance. The attempt to mis-lead the viewer into thinking Mycroft was Moriarty for example.
The little sexual innuendo, though keeping things "to date" was quite lame.
Most of the dialoge was good, if only the actores could raise their voices over a mumble. I was dissapointed that they did not connect the murderer to all the victems.
That the show actually had Watson giving " a bit back" to Holmes, such as calling him an idiot when he ran off without anyone watching his back, was a good addition.

Puddleglum, I didn't like those references either. I usually just skim over the scene when Watson & Sherlock are at that little restaurant. It's just kinda awkward. ;;) But what do you mean when you say you were disappointed that they did not connect the murderer to all the victims? You mean like they didn't go into detail with each persons case?

I do not know if it was my inability to hear everything said, (as I mentioned about mumbling), but I was under the assumption that the murderer somehow knew all the victems. It seemed to be leading that way when Holmes was facing off with him at the end, and was referring to the picture in the cab of the two girls, with the mother ripped away.
I also could not catch anything which explained the last victems message, presumably her dead daughters name.
One other thing which struck me as wrong was how Holmes resorted to getting physical with the dying murderer in order to extract the name of Moriarty from him. This is something I could never picture the classic Holmes of ever resorting too.

Hello, there, Puddleglum! :D

The conversation between Holmes and Watson is explained more in the commentary, or so I hear. To me it was just a sort of message to the viewers that the creators weren't planning to go there with the series.

I understand what you mean about how quiet their voices are. It got sort of frustrating, so I ended up turning on the subtitles. They help but are not all the way accurate to the lines. Hopefully that could assist you a little bit. :)

With the physical thing, I asked my family the same question. My older sister's simple answer: "Because he's [Sherlock] obsessed."

Despite that ordeal, though, I don't think Sherlock would harm people to get information unless it was absolutely necessary. That's just my opinion, though.

Thank You Dear Lady.

I have a slight confession on the matter of not hearing too well. Due to a menearse's my abilities in that matter have, (er) dwindiled. Having only one good ear does cause me some difficulty, and I have already fallen into Trumkin's habit of thinking everyone is just mumbling.

As fort he matter of getting physical. I guess I'm just a purist at heart on the matter of how Holme's would behave. As this is the only installment I have seen, I hope to see a better rendering.

I bid you all goodnight.

Aww, no worries. Glad I could tell you about it.

I understand; hearing issues seem to run in my family, so sometimes I can't always hear properly--especially if I have headphones on. :p

Well...yes, I can see where you're coming from. Holmes, bookwise anyway, is mostly a gentleman; but his methods are admittedly a bit unconventional, especially during that time period. And of course we can't leave out said unconventiality (is that even a word? ;))) in the 21st century either.

I suggest sticking with the series as of right now. The other two episodes during this season didn't have that kind of situation. But that's just me; I don't want to tell you what shows to watch or anything like that. :)

I would definitly agree to the unconventional part. Though I find it interesting that the very methods used by Hilmes in the books are much of the very methods used by forensic science today. I guess that was his initial appeal to me.
