:D ramagut.

What a change in temperature from your home area to the west coast, stargazer, wow! And to hear of flowers blooming when it'll be at least another month until they start showing themselves here, most likely, is just really odd ... ;))

The past 3 days we have had periods of snow, with yesterday being the most unusual: within 1 & 1/2 hours we went from rain to snow to hail to sleet to snow again, which stayed on the ground until later in the afternoon when the sun broke through and the temps rose. Really adventurous weather! And gorgeous cloud formations!

This morning was beautiful, with big, fluffy "Narnia" flakes falling for a few hours, gently covering the fields and trees. So pretty. However, the temperature is to rise over the next day or two, reaching possibly 16C/61F on Thursday. :-o We haven't seen that since early last fall. This will be dropping quickly, though, on Friday and through the weekend we could expect snow again. ;))

"Narnia" snow is fun just about any time of year.

The weather here seems to be alternating between rainy days and partly cloudy ones. That's rather useful, actually, for scheduling our out-of-doors touristy things.

Today we went to the Olympic National Park visitor center (the road up to Hurricane Ridge is closed weekdays now even with the lack of snow). We were treated to a bit of those snow pellets that can't quite decide whether they are rain, snow, sleet, or hail. ;))

ETA: I guess the technical term for this is graupel.

Also, it looks like a rainy weekend, including the time of Saturday morning's eclipse.

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

I swear today was the warmest day since September... and it's supposed to be in the 60's (F) later this week 0.0 In other news I've been hearing song birds returning from their annual migration :)

graupel? I almost hurt my voicebox trying to say that word stargazer. Probably created by some bored meteorologist in an office somewhere who saw it on the way to work, and realized no one has named it yet. I wonder if it's some obscure name of a relative?
Looks like almost all the snow is gone from our general vicinity. Many around here now are sharing a general concern that the lack of it, and lake of substantial rain will cause trouble for planting this season. Already the "Mighty" Mississippi is much lower than it should be this time of year.

We had our first major storm system march across the state of KS yesterday. We got hail and high winds here, but not terribly far away from us, we had some acquaintances have building and property damage due to the straight line winds gusting up to 80mph. And of course it was 70F here before the storm last night and it was snowing in western KS where the system had already gone through.

We are now getting rain and lots of it. It wouldn't be so bad except my church is having an Easter egg hunt tomorrow at a football field. I'm envisioning mud covered eggs and children. ;))

Over here or Down Under, we are having much the same rainy weather, miserable for those going to the Royal Easter Show this year. Of course the rain will fine up on Monday, they say. Just in time to go back to work on Tuesday.

It isn't raining in perth yet, likely will tomorrow or tonight by the look of it outside.

The weather in Seattle has been pretty consistent over the week I've been here...highs around 55F/12C with some rain most days.

The clouds, however, have been quite variable, changing from clear to overcast in just minutes at times. The only consistency there has been the cloudy nights, so I have not had a single stargazing session since arriving. This includes this morning's lunar eclipse, which was hidden by a thick blanket of clouds. Openings in the clouds began shortly after dawn and continue now (early afternoon local time).

ETA: I see it was 80F/26C back in Minneapolis the other day. As so often seems to happen there, the weather may have skipped over spring and gone directly to summer. But there are still about 7 weeks left of the possible snow season, so it's not over yet!

Well it didn't exactly fine up for Easter Monday, or even for Easter Tuesday. We had the most horrendous downpour today, leaving swimming pools full to the brim, gutters awash and no desire whatever to go out on the roads if possible. Yesterday we had temperatures of 26 C, ie 80F. Today we get the first blast of what might be winter. I bought flannellette sheets just in case. The cat had clawed the fitted sheet on the old set, trying to cuddle up to me.

Why is it that sheets when you buy them always come with just one fitted sheet? Why not two to go with the one oversheet that is a bit insipid if it isn't accompanied by one or two blankets? And which will last for years to come, unlike the fitted sheets?

Our possible excitement for today....
http://www.kansas.com/news/weather/article17711063.html
Hey, look at that, I'm in the orange for possible tornados and bigger-than-baseball sized hail.
It's that time of year... need to check and make sure that all of our stuff is in the basement and ready to go. Flashlight, phone, weather radio, water, food, etc. And I also need figure out what important things to bring down for the kiddos. I'll probably just pack their diaper bag and call it good.

oH Jeez that hail can do a lot of damage, they(goldcost area) use to get storms of golf-ball sized hail all the time, it can be um rather expensive if you run a new car yard and the storm is unexpected.

Your kids are very young. right? one of them a baby?, I am sure the toddler will get restless? and likely scared.

I can officially say summer has ended when I nearly get blown over coming out the door and it is nearly dark on the way home from work at 6pm. Though it was what I would call an overnight change. I mean it was in the early 30's one day and the next the early 20's (highs I mean). April and May are generally my favourite months weather-wise.

:)) This just struck me so funny. ;)) 'Tis true, though, what an odd-sounding word.

So, uh, how did the egg hunt turn out, weather-wise, ramagut? :p

*waves to a very rainy wagga and a very windy IlF* ;) Do you get nicely-coloured leaves in the autumn in your respective areas?

Yikes, fantasia, y'all stay safe! Keep us posted, as you are able.

80° in Minneapolis, stargazer, wowser! #:-s The highest we got last week was nearly 70, if I recall. But it's back down hovering right around freezing again now. We had a bit of freezing rain this morning, with a lot of rain coming tomorrow. In fact, there is a warning out.

The last vestiges of our snow went today, although there may still be some in the north-facing sections of the farmfields where the sun doesn't reach too readily. It's that damp-cool today, though, with a chill that goes right through you. I'd prefer -20C with its cold, dry air. :p

No not from most trees. All the little nuts/fruit fall off trees, some of which smell foul however.

I don't think I can ever be allowed to have a good umbrella. Honestly they always break on me, and the latest one was suppose to be of decent quality.

It was supposed to be in the 40F-50F range. It might have been, but we had a 20F wind chill! And the gusts were I believe up to 40mph (something like that). But the sun was shining and the grass was tall enough that it wasn't muddy from the rain Friday night!
Plus, it was a lot of fun. We had 125-150 kids and each got a pretty good haul. God has led me to an amazing church!

We are warming up nicely now. Spring is here! We had some thunderstorms come through yesterday and last night with lots of rain.

FK, how was your weather yesterday?

Love God, love people
