Ouch for the sunburn, Louise!

Today's high: 69F
Wednesday's high: 91F
Thursday/Friday: Storms
Here in Southern California:
Sunday's high: 90.9F
Monday's high: 66.4F
Such extremes, wow!
And you're into the 90s, Fencer. We typically don't reach those temperatures until July. Although, already they're predicting a warmer summer than usual (if it's similar to last year, I think I'll scream
), and this may begin with regularity in June already. Time to hibernate.
We have had a lovely balance of rain and sun over the course of the past week or so, but by the end of this long weekend (in Canada), we'll be needing more rain, as the temperatures will be briefly soaring into the early 90s with the humidex by Sunday and Monday. Thankfully, showers should be arriving Monday evening and Tuesday, hopefully bringing the weather back to a much more pleasant and seasonable feel.
Because of the relatively evenly distributed sun and rain lately, grass, trees, shrubs, etc., are flourishing beautifully.
We are encouraged to save most of our planting until after this long weekend, but now, seeing the forecast, I wish I had bought all I need already, since it'll be waaaay above the norm. I may nip out and purchase my seed packets tomorrow, so I can at least get them sowed in the ground.
Last night and tonight are going down to 6C/nearly 43F, which is puuuuuurfect sleeping (and walking) weather.

I think our weather finally decided to treat spring as summer. It's been warm here, but not too hot.

The weather has finally cooled down to a more pleasant temperature (60s and 70s). It's been the perfect weather for jogging, which I've been doing more of late. The early mornings especially have been a great time for that (I love the crisp, fresh feel of the air then).
We will probably be getting some rain early next week. Personally, I'm crossing my fingers and hoping for a thunderstorm. We haven't had a good storm in several months.

A few nice days have segued into summer here, with strong south winds and the year's first temperatures exceeding 90F/32C. Ugh! At least the humidity is relatively low compared to later in the summer.
An incoming cold front (yay! ) should trigger storms tonight or tomorrow, and if these linger into Sunday they may obscure our view of the partial solar eclipse.
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
Similar weather here, Mr. gazer. Last 3 days here have been 95.5F/35.3C, 98.4F/36.9C, and today has reached 94.3F/34.6C.
It is supposed to cool down a bit starting tomorrow through Sunday but I would have to say that highs of 60F-70F are gone for a while.

Yes, indeed. 'Tis my favourite time of day to walk, when everything is still quiet and peaceful; the air, fresh and cooler; the hustle and bustle of the day not yet begun.
Personally, I'm crossing my fingers and hoping for a thunderstorm
Me too! We had some beautiful rain early last evening ('though no thunder), accompanied by a rainbow , which gave all my newly planted seeds and plants a good soaking. Late this morning the air cleared, bringing in a comfy feel. Temperatures are hovering around 20C/68F with a pleasant breeze. However, humidity slides in tomorrow, and Friday is supposed to break a record with a 30C/86F day (the previous record for May 25 was 28.8C/84F back in, uh, I forget what they said now
)—hot and humid: my favourite weather ... NOT!
Supposedly a strong south-east wind is headed our way then as well, which may ease the blech-y-ness a tad.
Btw, the norm for this time of year is 20C/68F, so we're right on target today.
At least the humidity is relatively low compared to later in the summer.
I wish this were the case here. (Although, to be fair, 30C/86F is mild compared to last year's mid-summer 44C/111F. ) Are you expecting this heat wave at all?
By "cooling down" in CA from in the mid-high 90s, Glim, what does that exactly mean? In the 70s and 80s?

DITTO!
We're in a very active transition period now between spring and summer, I guess...alternating between hot and rather humid days and pleasant (if rainy) ones. Right now the tree outside the window is rocking with wind gusts approaching 45 mph/72 km/hr, ahead of a strong cold front that could bring over 3 inches (7.5 cm) of rain overnight. Flash flood watches have been posted. (We're still "abnormally dry" on the Drought Monitor, but this may be too much of a good thing).
Sunday is expected to be one of those hot and humid summer days - too bad my tent isn't air conditioned - with more rain over much of the upcoming Memorial Day weekend.
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
I am in Estes Park, Colorado right now (just outside Rocky Mountain National Park, 1 1/2 hours northwest of Denver). It's been blowing and snowing on and off throughout the day. It rained all day yesterday and is much cooler right now.
In El Paso however, the last two days have been windy and VERY dry, which means mega dirt storms. Not to mention 100 degrees for highs. I'm not looking forward to returning to that in the middle of next week.
Be watching for the release of my spiritual warfare novel under a new title: "Call to Arms" by OakTara Publishing. A sequel (title TBD) will shortly follow.

Very good guess, LOTS. Yesterday was about 85F and today's high is about 78F. But tomorrow it could drop another 10F which would put the high in the 60'sF. So I was premature in my cooling off prediction and I'm very glad to be wrong on that.

Highs in the 60s sound good, Glimmie! It could push 95F or more here tomorrow. Whew!
It's hard to believe that last fall and winter we couldn't "buy a drop of rain" - or snow (to borrow the expression). Earlier today I was on Interstate 35 south of the Twin Cities; it was raining so hard the freeway was under water, cars were pulling off (one hydroplaned into the ditch), and the farm fields were full of standing water. Drought-buster indeed!

Southern Norway is having a heat wave this week. Oslo has had the hottest days of May for years - perhaps the highest May temperature since the 1860s ...
Next week - and probably the beginning of June - will probably be more chilly.
And the weather map of Norway looks a bit surprising these days - there's a strike going on, so the western part of the country doesn't have any weather at all

stargazer, that heat you're getting tomorrow is hitting us hard on Monday and into Tuesday. Then thankfully on Wednesday, the air really cools (to 21C/70F, down from 36C/97F ). Yesterday was quite brutal, although there was a strong wind, which helped a tad, but honestly, the air felt more like mid-July. Ugh.
Of course, Fencer, those high temps are just the norm for you guys.
Glim, has your cooling off come to pass?
Interesting that you're having a heat wave too, Varnafinde, and that your area is following a similar pattern to ours: HOT now, but cooling the first bit of June.
about the western part of the country appearing to have no weather at all, lol!
We're supposed to get showers tonight and tomorrow (they are needed), which will guide in the humidity for Monday, and then showers off and on much of the next few days. Good for the wee plants!

Our heat wave was only about 25-30 C, though. Other than in direct sunshine, possibly ...
There was snow early in May, and it's been fairly cold for a while - and then all of a sudden we went from 5 C to 25 C almost overnight.

and then all of a sudden we went from 5 C to 25 C almost overnight.
That is quite the change, wow! 'Tis similar to what we will be experiencing, although ours is over a couple of days rather than overnight. Today, with the heat index, it should be hitting 39C/102.2F, whereas on Wednesday, after some glorious rain and thunderstorms tomorrow, the temperature is dropping to 20C/68F, then down to 16C/60.8F on Friday ... much more like my kind of temperatures.

It is hot and humid in NY's Capital region today. Most of the Hudson Valley is under a tornado watch... which isn't very common around here. I believe we're under a severe thunderstorm warning as well...
Glad I didn't put the rabbit out... hoping that we won't get any tornadoes... and that I can get the cats in the house if we do...
Edit: no rain yet, but I can here the thunder... time to close some windows...
