Here in Southern California:
Sunday's high: 90.9F
Monday's high: 66.4F
Today we were supposed to get some significant rain but it looks like the storm has broken up. It is sunny and windy and 76.5F at the moment.

Hello to you too, LOTS.

I haven't posted in a while. Yes, our roof was finished. We had a strong wind storm come through last week and the roof did not flap and thunder. It held through an heavy overnight downpour so we are good to go.
Temps here have hit 90+ degrees. We are approaching May so it won't be dropping much from here on out until end of September at best. El Paso summer has arrived.
But on another note, it appears that I am likely going to be preparing for a move. I'm seeking a teaching position and am getting started on applications after a career fair this last week and practically everyone looking for positions are out of the area. I could go anywhere from the pan handle of Texas (Pecos or Ft. Stockton) to Dallas to Houston, or to Colorado (Colorado Springs or Pueblo), or to Wake County, North Carolina, or to Las Vegas, Nevada, or a Navajo Reservation in New Mexico, or even to Alaska near Juneau. We'll see what God does as I start knocking on doors.

Best wishes as you begin your job search, Fencer!
11 of the last 14 days have included rain here (usually not much at a time), but we remain in a moderate drought condition. More cool rain is in the offing for this weekend (beginning late tomorrow or early Friday) - with a chance for some wet, heavy snow over some of the region.
(Hey, there's 33 days left in our possible snow season )
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
Fencer. If the reservation job is anything like what I almost went for, in my younger years, you might spend a lot of time in the mail room. Best make sure what your getting into.
started cool this morning, in the mid-fifties, and was all the way up to 79 on the way home. Windy tonight. Just got back from a run to the local DQ, and was pushed around by some nasty gusts.
I'll keep that in mind.
We broke a high yesterday at 95F. Today is supposed to be the same but we are supposed to have a wind warning, which means blowing dust. The last one of these a week and a half ago, the afternoon sky had a bright orange glow to it as the sun came through the red sands of the area. Today may be not that much different. But I'll be inside most of the day except when traveling to and from school (for my student teaching).

May Day! May Day!
Welcome to May, everyone! And with it, comes our first really likely shot of serious weather (tornadoes, hail, high winds) here in the upper midwest. Strong southerly winds are blowing in warm, humid air. Ugh...spring was nice while it lasted.
(May Day, by the by, is another of those ancient cross-quarter days; this one marks the approximate halfway point between the March (spring) equinox and the June (summer) solstice).
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
Had some scary moments with the weather yesterday, but thankfully it was more flash, and wind, with a good downpoor, than anything really threatening.
Feeling the humidity Where I work is like a spong. I can't wait until we have 90's with humidity to match. Every time I lean against a wall I feel like I'm peeling when I pull away.
Hot, humid, muggy. This is the kind of weather our corner of Michigan doesn't usually get until July/August. Winter was like spring, and spring is like summer. It makes me wonder what the summer weather is going to be like.

We're having similar weather here, Miss Rosario. After a wimpy winter-that-wasn't and a March with temps waaay above average, we managed to get through April without any days over 80F.
Not true now, with humidity coming back for the summer. This morning we got about 2 inches of rain in half an hour, causing some local flooding that drained off by this evening. Some other areas got up to quarter-size hail.
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
Humid again today. really felt it while chasing the lower around the lawn. About the only thing that likes the humidity is the grass.
Today's weather is going to be a far cry from what it has been the past few days. It's been in the 90Fs for highs and 60Fs for lows.. nice and toasty, I sunburned my feet over the weekend. Today the high is going to be 69F. I think I may go into hypothermia if I'm not careful.
We've been in the 90's for at least a week which is typical El Paso May weather. But right now I am hearing thunder which makes me a bit excited. Not much else going on.

Bump.
So long for 90 degrees and nice weather. The last two days we have been hammered with rain and cooler temps (highs around 70 F). For us, it's a lot. Some areas have gotten about an inch of rain in the last two days and everything around us is soggy. I was helping out in a project down where I used to live (about 40 miles south of where I am now) and we got out just minutes before they got blasted. We saw lightning strikes on the highway as we left. But it is supposed to start clearing up tomorrow and warm up again. Makes it fun over here.
What was interesting was that possible tornadoes were in the forecast for our area and that is not cool. We are FLAT with nothing to hide in for a tornado. We have mountains about a mile away from us, but that won't help much. We have a contingency plan for that where we listen to the radio if tornadoes are in the area and if one is coming our way, we get in the car and RUN. A mobile home, even one as strong and big as ours (ours would survive a hurricane) would not last long in a tornado, especially as we have enough stuff around our property to make excellent missiles in that event. But no tornadoes happened and that makes us happy.

Here, the weather has been alternating. Extremely hot one day, cold and rainy the next, scorching hot the day after that, cloudy the next day, etc.
Spring confuses the weather here, apparently. It wants either winter or summer.

Like Riella, the weather here has been topsy-turvy. The temperature skyrocketed up to the mid-eighties late last week though. I was out in the sunshine for two hours maximum on Thursday and came in blessed with a magnificent sunburn. Makes me wonder what'll happen when I'm in the Caribbean this summer.
Aside from the heat, however, the weather has been quite pleasant. A nice breeze has been blowing, and it's always a joy to have sunshine instead of clouds.
