And how do we greet such things? With a blazing bonfire. :) Multiple neighbor kids joined us for hot dogs and S'mores, and after sunset we showed them the view of Jupiter near Venus. Very pleasant, except for some unwelcome guests: some mosquitoes - in March!

bonfire sounds like heaps of fun....but mosquitoes in March, that is odd

we had few brief signs of spring, it got really warm for a few days, the snow started melting pretty fast, but then it got cold again, we had a strong snowstorm today, and very strong biting wind. The kind that makes the snowflakes stick to your eyes and get in your mouth (I swallowed so many snowflakes while I was waiting at the station for the train to come :p ) and they are promising cold weather for the rest of the week....I wonder how cold our April will be

Our discussion in Physics today was just the Opposite... If the weather is this warm in March how warm will April be?

The heat wave is scheduled to continue til Fri... Rain in the forecast on Saturday...

The weather has been very nice the last few days. It's rainy and 63F right now. I just wish it was cold, but the rain is very pleasant. :)

We've been making up for all the rain we didn't get last year I guess. We're up to 2.5" over the past couple days. :)

I understand the Twin Cities got about 0.6 inches of much-needed rain yesterday.

Here in Butte Montana we have about 6 inches of snow on the ground, which is about the most I've seen at once all winter. ;)) Pity I had to drive some 1200 miles to see it. ;)

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

Our crazy weather is over for now. The winds have calmed down and no rain in sight. Temps are back to the 70's and getting warmer each day. We'll be consistently in the 80's before long and consistently in the 90's by May. That's when our 'summer' begins.

Today's Seattle weather report: cloudy, relatively cool, with a chance of ... rain. ;)) (Actually, as I've observed during previous visits here, and from those who've lived here, the stereotypical Seattle gloomy rain comes mostly in winter. The summers are often quite sunny.)

It has been chilly the past few mornings. In the thirties when I take my walk to the garage, and the wind has at least settled down. there were gusts up to forty mph just a couple days ago. Add that to the cold makes for a quick wake-up.
They are predicting a brief warm-up this weekend, in the seventies, and then another cool down into the fifties.
I hope we get the expected rain tonight. It will wash some of the grime away.

Today was the first bit of sun we have had in awhile. sure, and I have the laundry done already. with the wind blowing almost steady, and the temps in the upper 60's to lower 70's I would have saved a bit without use of the dryer.
Ah well. at least I was able to open the windows, and get some fresh air flowing through the wig-wam.

But Easter snow might be an interesting birthday present for someone I know. ;)

The past week has been something of an adjustment for me, weather-wise. It was in the 80s when I left Minnesota, with hints of the heat, humidity, and mosquitoes to come. (And now I hear it was 91F in Fargo, ND, yesterday!)

Here in Seattle it's been wonderfully cool (maybe into the 60s by day), though often rather wet. And everything's so green, in a way that doesn't usually hit Minnesota until May. People are already out mowing their lawns!

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

We hit 90 yesterday. Cooler today with winds blowing and dirt all over the place. Rain is maybe in the forecast next week. Other than that, little else going on.

Overcast for the latter part of the day, but still well into the 60's. We had the windows open for a little bit while painting the living room. All the strange weather has confused the plants in the house. The Mrs noticed a blossem on the Christmas Cactus. Ther were two others a bit smaller, but the first should bloom just on time for Easter.
I am hopeing for some fair weather later this week. If it co-operated I might just get the old bike out, and build up the legs.

It's interesting reading your weather notes as you travel cross-country, stargazer.

Wow, Puddleglum, I didn't realize Marsh-wiggle's wigwams had basements ... and even more, sump pumps! Fantastic how that area has advanced in recent years. B-)

If it co-operated I might just get the old bike out, and build up the legs.

Off topic, but I would dearly like to see a Marsh-wiggle's bike. ;))

We had some marble sized hail yesterday. It was neat watching it. I took a picture of it, I need to put on my photobucket so I can post it.
And then very early this morning, we had a very loud thunderstorm.

It would be cool to see a picture of the hail, if you can swing it, SnowAngel.
Oooh, I love thunderstorms ... but in the later spring or summer, not in February, when we had a couple this year. :-o ;)) Unheard of in these parts.

wild rose, I know how much you don't care for winter, so I hope your spring comes fully sooner than later.

We have comfortably cool temperatures over Easter weekend and into next week: some sun; some cloud; some rain. At night, it drops to near freezing; during the day, it's hovering between 9C/48F and 12C/53F.

The grass is very green and beginning to grow with its usual spring rapidity, although it's about a month early this year. I even heard the first lawnmower in the neighbourhood near the end of last week, and this doesn't usually happen until late April.

My parents went up to Syrup country to purchase their litres of maple syrup today. The farmer told them he didn't get half of what he usually does in an average season :( (not surprisingly) because of the very strange winter we had.

We did manage to get a lovely snowfall last Friday evening, but it quickly melted on Saturday. Still, I gazed out of the window in awe, wanting to hang on to this white beauty that we missed the rest of the 2011/2012 winter.

Be praying for the Dallas/Fort Worth area as they just got hit by at least two tornadoes. Reports are saying tremendous damage. Included in the damages was Six Flags over Texas, which is located in a heavily populated area.
