*It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...*
Too bad it's the 20th of January.
We're up to 5 inches of fresh powder here in southern Minnesota, with the flakes continuing to fall. This is the most snow I've seen at once since last spring.
Enjoy your snow-wiggle, Puddleglum! I think your little ones might enjoy making it.
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
While the snow people enjoy the snow, we will be wet here tomorrow. Forecast as of now is: Mostly cloudy, 95% chance of rain after midnight.
And I can see it coming on the radar map for California. Looks like it will be heavy and cold. Tomorrow will be a good time to stay inside.

It finally snowed... and in the snow I think I see rabbit tracks, but I have to go back to school in the morning!

Montreal's weather has been pretty strange...it was very very mild all through December, then last weekend we got a TON of snow and then it dropped to like...minus 22? Then early this week it was crazy mild and it was raining! And then it turned really cold again and got icy...and now this week it's supposed to be fairly warm again? Honestly, make up your mind, weather

I do thank you stargazer for the kind words. I should be glad that someone enjoys my posts, though I suppose the other Marsh-Wiggles would remind me about my not being serious enough.
*dittos stargazer's words of appreciation for Puddle's posts* They bring on hearty chuckles in our hobbit hole.
*would dearly love to see an image of a "snow-wiggle"* Priceless!
Did you get an abundance of rain, Glim? We are today. All the snow that fell on Friday is slushing away. We had very heavy rain this morning, with temperatures up to 9C/48.2F today!!! More like April than January. Tonight, however, the air will be dropping to below freezing, with flurries tomorrow. It will take another snowfall like last Friday, though, to get us back to our longed-for wintry look again. But nothing in the forecast at this point.
stargazer and Puddleglum, is your area having this warm spell also?
wolf, we spotted rabbit tracks in the snow around our yard too. So cute! Hippity-hop, lipperty-lop. And squirrel, cat, and probably racoon; maybe even ... skunk.
Hi Val! That's been like us too: a yo-yo; back-and-forth from cold to warm-ish to freezing to mild. Strange weather, indeed.

That's quite the warm spell, jo! Too bad about your snow melting.
We had a slight warm spell here too...with temps around freezing, and warmer in the upper atmosphere, we had freezing rain yesterday, making things pretty slick. It changed over to all snow this morning, accompanied by wind, making driving out on the open prairie this afternoon something of a challenge.
The next few days are predicted to be clear and around 32F/0C. With luck I might catch some Northern Lights the next few nights! *crosses fingers*
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
Our snow is melting too! (At college that is ) We got rain today on this side of Lake Ontario as well. I wonder if it's the same storm
(PS Where's the snow?!! )

I, like my fellow MN NarniaWebbers, have gotten plenty of Minnesota snow at last.
I'm not really sure how much we got in all here, but probably at least 3 inches, but it's hard to tell when it piles up as you shovel it onto your lawn. The wind was really what made it seem like more, so we had to wait until the afternoon to clear it up. At least it's not considerably that cold for me.
A request for a snow wiggle? Well, at last we have some snow. I shall set myself to the task my dear hobbit. But it will take some time, and a wee bit more of the fluffy stuff. It looks like the weather might co-operate in the next week. I see the weather folks in the cities say temps in the 30's. Just above freezing so it packs right.

This weather is rather frustrating. But I like to believe that with all of mankinds wisdom in matters, that at time God uses stuff like this to remind us just how little we actually know
Stargazer.
So you have heard of the solar flares that are going on with anticipation as well? I have Bible study tonight with the fellows. I hope there to be quite a light show on my way home
Well today was eventful.
It started out very spring-like. Sunny, a bit chilly, even the birds were out. Then the clouds moved it. I was gonna take a walk to Glimmerglass, but it rained a bit as we went to dinner... almost like that mist rain I mentioned before, but harder. Then on our way back from dinner it was hailing. To make things worse it was rather windy, so our faces were being pelted with frozen water (very painful). Then it stopped for a while, but the wind did not. When we went to late night I was rejoicing because it was finally snowing, but of course it stopped by the time we got out... meh Still windy though.

The weather is so springy! It was 60 degrees today, a very nice day if it was spring. I'm little bit worried that winter is going to come very late this year and when my family and I are getting ready to move.

60 degrees sounds nice! Makes me want to go camping. Hopefully a late winter won't interfere with your move, SnowAngel.
There is a big snowstorm expected over the next few days; its path is expected to be well south of here (Denver, Kansas, Chicago). Our winter remains very mild and dry.
While February can still be very cold (the state set its all-time record low temperature (-60F/-51C) early in February 1996), there's nothing like that expected over the next few weeks - and by then, the likelihood of any big cold snap decreases as spring approaches. To be sure, March can be extremely snowy here, and we are likely to get socked sooner or later...
It is now Groundhog Day in this timezone...a sort of weather-related day that seems to be primarily North American in nature. The date was apparently deliberately chosen to fall around Imbolc (also called St Brigid's Day or Candlemas), which is the cross-quarter day that comes halfway between the winter solstice and spring equinox (in the Northern Hemisphere) - roughly 7 weeks before the equinox.
(The joke here is that even if the groundhog 'predicts' 6 more weeks of winter, that only brings us to mid-March. Spring coming then, in a normal year, would be a bargain since we can get snow into May).
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
Well our winter came... and went. So much for lake effect snow this year. Sad part is our school was supposed to have a winter fest on the 4th.... Things aren't looking up. We went from fall right into spring

Did you get an abundance of rain, Glim?
We did not get as much rain as was predicted at that time, LOTS. We did get some rain though and lately it has been dry and cool with a little rain predicted for next Tuesday

Were you able to,'gazer? And how about you, Puddleglum, on the way home from your study that one night a couple of weeks ago?
We got rain today on this side of Lake Ontario as well. I wonder if it's the same storm
I think they often are, yes.
I was gonna take a walk to Glimmerglass
I have probably said before, but I love that name. Sounds almost Tolkien-ish, as it reminds me of "Mirrormere" (beyond the Dimrill Stair).
Now, that was one adventurous weather day, wolfy, whoa!
I hope the weather will be calm for your move, Snow Angel.

Here too, and I'm hoping March will make up for the lack of winter we've had thus far, although the long-range forecast stated that the next three months(!!) will have above-seasonal temperatures. *weeps* 'Though maybe that will mean we shall have a cooler summer this year, which would be loverly.
A small accumulation of snow is headed our way tomorrow and Saturday, so at least this will be a lovely covering for the brown, and even green, ground we have had much of this 'winter' season.
As for groundhog day, the famous Ontario groundhog, Wiarton Willy, did not see his shadow, predicting an early spring, when we haven't even had winter. This past year the seasons have gone: winter, spring, summer, fall, spring, summer.
Temperatures continue to yo-yo here, from well below freezing (short-lived Arctic air masses) to well above (one low early last week—the last night in January as a matter of fact, which is normally our coldest month—was 10C/50F!
wolf, I wonder if your school was even able to have WinterFest this year.
I'm glad your area is receiving some rain, Glim. It's so refreshing!
