We had a very hot July and as soon August comes the weather changed drastically and now its cold, windy, and rainy. It is nice, though, to have a break from the sun

The weather has been very good lately. I'm really glad about that. I don't know how long it will last though.

It's really hot here, today it was 100F and the heat index was 107F. Yesterday it was even worse 108F and the heat index was 111F. I'm so ready for fall.

It continues to be quite warm, rather humid, and yet rainy here.

Good news for those sweating through a hot summer: the Northern Hemisphere is about halfway between the June (summer) solstice and the September (autumnal) equinox. The days are getting noticeably shorter here now.

This halfway point is traditionally called Lammas Day (loaf-mass day), a wheat harvest holiday in old Europe.

It has been raining here quite a bit. I think its nice after all this hot weather.

Wind wind and more wind. Such lovely weather! After a couple of cold days it is now hot, but there is a very nice wind blowing so we can live decently! Can't wait for autumn!

Aw De, I love wind. Well actually, I prefer a light breeze but I can appreciate a good strong wind every now and then.

Hot and dry here in El Paso. We've been in triple digits the last few days and no immediate end in sight. We broke the record yesterday with temps at 104 degrees, breaking a 60+year old record. More triple digit heat the next few days. I've lived here 12 years and this is the hottest summer I can recall. I've seen hotter temps that reach the 115's, but I don't think I've experienced so many 100+ degree days in one summer. It's just been brutal. One more month or so until the temps start cooling to the lower 90s on a regular basis.

It's been surprisingly cool (as well as a little windy) here, which I've enjoyed. Except at night, because we don't have the air conditioning on, I have a whole lot of trouble going to sleep. But that's partly because I'm a little bit of an insomniac.

I think you've experienced more days over 100F this summer, Fencer, than I have in the past 54+ years. Whew!

Today is a glorious 69F/21C with a cooling northwest breeze. Now that's more like it! And it's much more comfortable weather for moving and rearranging boxes after a move.

We're losing 2-4 minutes of sunlight each day. That may not sound like much but it adds up fast. Before you know it the sun will be setting by 4.30 pm and there'll be all sorts of snow on the ground.

According to the news last night, El Paso officially has had 46-some (I didn't hear the actual number) over 100 degrees days this year. 3rd most in all time history. More are coming including today.

Rain, rain, go away... Now I'm getting tired of the rain! *sigh* I just can't be satisfied. A few weeks ago I was begging for rain.

Today is the loveliest day ever. Bright and sunny, with bright blue skys, puffy white clouds, a light breeze, and just barely 80. I was so cold outside this morning! I love summer.
