I actually can't wait for the snow. I mean, how can we have Christmas and VDT (look how desperate they are too add snow to the trailer, ) without snow. But right now, its just light rain.

Sigh. During Christmas, we don't have snow. Just the cold weather.
It's always cloudy here, but usually light rain pours down anytime of the day.

It might rain tonight and the Halloween parade that the band is playing in might get cancelled!

"Why? Do I look older?"
There was so much fog this morning. And it was really rainy today. Thats ok because I like the rain and fog.

Has anyone caught that Texas tornado video from this weekend? Definitely up close and personal!
Any leaves remaining on our trees will likely disappear over the next day or so. A huge low-pressure center is moving up from the lower Great Plains and will bring winds exceeding 50 mph/80 kph. Some gusts may reach hurricane force (74 mph/120 kph). This storm will affect over a dozen states and 26 million people with high winds and, eventually, snow in some areas. It's already being compared to the legendary "inland hurricane" that sank the Edmund Fitzgerald in Lake Superior in November 1975.
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
My dad missed being in that tornado by 20 minutes. Something we are very thankful for.
From the news reports, there were only minor injuries. The man who was in the car that was flattened by a dump truck walked away unhurt by the grace of God.
Going back a page or two ...
I love stormy weather! We had a fantastic lightning storm tonight!
Likewise, A_Narnian_Ship! Of course, I can safely say that as we live in an area that receives some good, strong storms of many kinds (wind, rain, thunder, snow), but thankfully they are not usually life-threatening, although they can cause some damage, but rarely loss of life.
The only fly in the ointment has been the unseasonable heat.
Likewise here. We've had some gorgeous autumn weather with daytime temps around 13C/55F—even down as low at 9C/48F a couple of days—and nighttime at a crisp 4C/39F, dropping one night to 1 degree above freezing! ♥ But these few days now are unseasonably warm, as was our Canadian Thanksgiving weekend—all the way up to 20C/68F today! The air is very still now, as if holding its breath while waiting for the potentially damaging winds (as described by 'gazer above) that are blowing in later today from the south-west and staying with us even into Thursday, with temperatures starting to drop then. Because of the warmer weather lately, we've had a good bit of fog come evenings and overnight. Fog is so cool ... if one doesn't have to drive in it!
We have yet to receive our first major frost! We've hardly even had mild ones ... a couple wannabees at times.
Whew! Typhoon Megi sounds like it caused a lot of problems, sandyentersNarnia! Glad it wasn't as severe where you live.
Look up Friday evening at the big bright Full Moon (bright Jupiter will be far to its lower left). This is the Hunter's Moon in the Northern Hemisphere.
Mmmm, I did so enjoy that. Watching it rise in the east through the trees was so mysteriously beautiful. And it's fun seeing the bright jewel of Jupiter as its companion still.
That is quite the tornado video, 'gazer! I've always been interested in storm-tracking, but that tornado seemed a bit too close. kat, that's amazing about the man being okay, and how great your dad missed it (yet by so close).
EDIT: Here are some recent sky photos I've taken:
The full Corn, or more commonly known, Harvest Moon in September of this year. 'Tis quite simple and plain, but so cool. And note Jupiter right below it.
And again, with a leafy border. If you peer closely, you can barely see Jupiter there, as well.
A stunning autumn sky as the sun set a couple of weekends ago. (We were actually on our way to Michigan to meet up with some NarniaWebbers with whom we were attending a performance of The Two Towers Symphony and film.)
And another. Gorgeous!
These latter two were taken (quickly) as I was driving before I left my city.

johobbit, ^ Those photos are beautiful! I especially like the third one.
It was rainy this morning where I live, but it got warmer in the afternoon and the rain cleared up. It almost felt like spring.

Great pictures, jo! I especially like the leaf-framed shot of Jupiter and the Moon.
The local weather people have gotten excited since the winds have really kicked in here, and Minnesota has set an all-time low-pressure record (around 960 mb). The Edmund Fitzgerald storm only got down to 980 mb. This is hurricane-level low pressure.
The winds have forced 4-hour airport delays here due to runway closures. This storm has also triggered tornadoes and thunderstorms all the way from Michigan to Alabama and Mississippi. High winds will move into the big East Coast cities tomorrow, and up to 10 inches (25 cm) of snow is now expected north of here (we'll get just flurries because the ground is still warm).
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
ok, today was really weird
we have been having normal fall temperatures here in New Hampshire (low 40's to low 50's) but today it got to 69 degrees! weird. I love it though! it's awesome!

It's been crazy windy here. Our whole county was under a tornado warning earlier, so my class had to sit in the hallway at school for two hours! Talk about uncomfortable, for there are many of us and not enough hallway. (Luckily, I was able to take my homework with me and work on it to pass the time.) But then, by the afternoon, it was sunny outside.
One thing I love about storms are the pretty clouds that blow by once they've passed. I got to see some pretty dramatic shadows this evening. The setting sun reflected off the tops of the storm clouds on the horizon, making them look like mountain peaks. Too pretty!

It was nice out today, not much wind which is suprising here. There was barely even a ripple on Lake Ontario, let alone a wave, it was quite beautiful. It was warm too. This afternoon however it started to shower on and off, it's currently showering now.

crazy weather again today. it was 8am and the weather was not that lively. it was a bit dark and cloudy. It felt like 6 in the evening when it was just 8 in the morning.

^ Same here sandyentersNarnia. my area was dark and cloudy as well. I feel like I was going to school during night time and it felt really odd.
