I know three people heading to the Phillipines at the end of the month for a YWAM mission trip.
We already his 102 before noon, but our thermometer records 95 now, which indicated cool air is coming through. It's suppossed to be near 105 all week.

We finally got our sunshine back sighs with joy. The weather is warm but not to hot with pleasant breeze, I love the kind of weather we have, it could perhaps be a bit cooler, but never mind that. Oh and the sunsets are amazing, we are having our longest days now and the sun only fully sets around eleven thiry/twelve p.m.

Welcome to summer! (Or winter, if you live in the Southern Hemisphere).
Today marks the June solstice, the time when the earth's North Pole points most directly at the sun. It's the year's longest day (as wild rose noted, with night coming very late), or the longest night Down Under. The sun begins its 6-month annual 'journey' south now.
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
It's been summer here the last month and a half. We are closing in on 4-weeks of 100+ degrees, and that's not just barely 100. I'm talking averaging 105+. Twice we've hit or nearly hit 110, and with my parent's and my job (I am at home with my parent's for the summer), we often have to work outside. It's not pretty, and temps are suppossed to stay above 100 until further notice. At least the house has AC. It wasn't long ago when I spent a summer like this without AC and that was miserable.

I was in Virginia a few weeks ago and it was lovely. I loved the humidity and the heat. But back home (Washington state), it's cold and rainy...like any other normal Seattle day. Today, however, we've got a bit of sun, and it's making me quite happy.

Today was the same, hot, heat Index: 104, too much humidity and I still can't swim in my pool. I can't wait to go back to California in two more weeks, I can't wait to get away from this southern humidity and high heating index.

That's right, stargazer, no need to buy a sauna: there's one right out my front door. The heat index has been high most days this week and is peaking today near 40C/104F ... potentially severe weather tonight, including the possibility of tornadoes. It is very hot, humid, and sunny now, but those clouds'll be rolling in in a few hours and then we're told to 'watch out'.
'gazer, your tornado stories—both the 1967 incident and the present one—are fascinating to read. Scary, too. What a relief the tornado missed your parents' area. It would be terribly exciting to be a storm chaser, I think. Last August 20th, we experienced some very large and somewhat frightening storms, in which tornadoes were touching down around southern Ontario. Sadly, that same storm also killed a young boy a few hours north of us as he and some other children at a camp tried to find shelter. The meteorologists are saying the storms coming tonight may be as severe. *eyes her crawl space with greater interest than usual*
We have had a fair bit of rain over the past few weeks, with more on the way tonight and also for Saturday and Sunday. There will be a short relief in temperature tomorrow and Friday, with a more pleasant air mass for those two days.

Wow, wild rose! Our longest day here in southern Ontario, as stargazer mentioned, was Monday (the summer solstice), and our sun set then just after 9 p.m., although it doesn't get fully dark until near 10 p.m.
And in case anyone is interested, the birds start chirping in full chorus right around 4:30 a.m., just before the first glimmers of daylight are seen in the sky. Such a beautiful sound!
I am always pleased when the June solstice passes, because this means Autumn is more within reach.

It appears that our 100+ degree streak might end today. But it is at the least upper 90's and the cooler temps (from 105+) is replaced with humidity. This is what I hate about overnight storms. All they do is make the next day muggy and because of our desert climate, humidity is not wet like most places. It is sticky and nasty. But June is our hottest month and with July comes the 'monsoon' season, where we get 98% of our annual moisture if not all. And it will come in one or two storms.

Clouds came today and ruined my sunset watching *calms herself* I generally don't like clouds, there are nice sometimes when the heat becomes unpleasant
FencerforJesus, sounds like the weather is quite hot where you are, here it is hot but there is wind too and that helps out. It was rather unpleasant yesterday as the wind changed from cool wind to hot wind, but today the wind was cool and refreshing (and we had clouds in the evening )

Here it doesn't get fully dark till 2 a.m. though now it will slowly be getting darker earlier . When I was visiting Petersburg it wouldn't get dark at all, it just stayed light all night. It was kinda weird but amazing none the less

So interesting about your longest days/shortest nights, wild rose.
Well, we have some big news (for Canada, anywya) since I posted last—about two hours ago. I was sitting at the computer doing some work and heard what sounded like the rumble of a big truck, but it lasted quite awhile (30 seconds). Our daughter thought it was thunder, since we're expecting those storms soon. We hear just a few minutes ago that it was an earthquake (5.5 in magnitude), centered just north of Ottawa, where one of our sons live! (He's okay: he just texted to let us know.)
So, we may be experiencing not only an earthquake, but also tornadoes, all in the same day! *much prefers weather and earth activity like this than boring, ol' sunny, humid days* (As long as everyone is safe, of course.)

Well, we've had a bit of a cloudy period with some rail the past week (which was actually good, because I was in the middle of my exams), but now it's really getting hot (which is good too, 'cause now I'm done! ). it's like 85 degrees Fahrenheit. But hey, it's summer after all.
Love this topic!
Today is a bit cloudy and the hot weather is starting to go down a tad. Though it's in the high 90's it's still steaming hot.

It was in the 80's or 90's today But at least there was a breeze. And its better than having anymore rain. We've had so much recently that all of our vegatables are drowning As I said in the gardening thread I got stuck in the mud while trying to plant corn.
