Today feels better then yesterday. I was just out and I'm fixing to go out again.
It is 100% sunny skies and it's not humid!
It's not hot or cold but is in between and feels nice.

I love these kinds of days when it feels like fall in springtime.

I heard about those 92F temperatures in Central Park the other day. Whew!

The last few days here have offered the best of a Minnesota spring: clear blue skies with the occasional clouds passing by, cool refreshing breezes, temperatures around 50-60F/10-16C, low humidity. Ahhh! :)

The only shortcomings are the dry weather (increasing fire danger until everything turns green again) and the pollen counts for those poor unfortunates who are allergic to such things.

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

A large high-pressure ridge in the central US has created an omega block - storms are directed around it in an omega-like shape.

One result is a lot of snow in Montana - West Yellowstone could get up to 2 feet (60 cm) today. And cities in the central US are much warmer than usual - St Louis may reach 85F/29C - about 20F/11C above average.

The Twin Cities may reach 80F/27C tomorrow - an amazing 25F/14C over average.

We had much needed rain and thunderstorms overnight as the warm front moved through. The irony is that, despite the prediction of oncoming heat, it was only around 45F/7C at the time - just another reminder that had it been just a bit cooler we might be looking at huge piles of white stuff outside rather than grass finally beginning to turn green with spring. ;))

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

Well, we are deeply into spring now. Clouds were prevalent for a few days after my last post, but then the skies have cleared, for the most part, to lovely, cool-ish days—temperatures around the mid-teens Celsius/60F. We live by the lake, though, and so with the breezes, it feels at least 4 or 5° cooler here, which I love. We could use a good day or two of rain, which, I believe, are on their way this coming weekend.

Sadly, Orion is fading into the west, but still clearly visible. And Venus shines its burning eye for awhile after sunset. Really beautiful!

The grass is very green: we mowed the lawn for the first time last wknd and got lots of old dead autumn leaves tidied up, yay! The buds are out on many trees, 'though it will be awhile before the leaves are fully out. The crimson maple out side my window now has blossoms and the tiniest, cutest beginnings of leaves: it's hard to imagine that in a month or so they will be massive spectacle of crimson—many of them larger than an average man's hand.

Spring really is lovely ... if only summer wasn't following it. ;))

It's beginning to feel like summer time. It was hot today but it was beautiful with sunny skies though.

I've returned from a widespread trip through my home state and have had a chance to see the varying stages of the arrival of spring.

Here in the Twin Cities the trees have largely budded out and turned green, though it's so dry that the grass is still spotted dry brown. But 200 miles northeast of here, along the shore of Lake Superior, the lake keeps the weather cooler and the trees were still barren.

Just as far north, but in the western prairielands of the state, green was more evident, and the scattered groves of trees were beginning to bud out. As we traveled south again yesterday and today, all the surroundings became more and more green. I guess spring is here.

We really need rain however, and some is in the weekend forecast.

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

The weather over here is pretty bad and will get worse tomorrow. It was humid, hot, cloudy and rained every now and then.
