This morning we had a ton of snow fall down. It was wet snow and all clumpy-like . I had to shovel unfortunately. But now the rain has washed practically everything away. I mean we still have plenty of snow on the lawn but the driveway, walkway, and road are clear, though very wet and slushy . It's 38 F out right now but it feels colder. I should know I was out all morning shoveling. It's supposed to rain and snow for the rest of the week. We're also getting a Flood Warning up here. I hope it doesn't flood close to us but it usually does, seeing we're surrounded by bodies of water on three sides. Our house that is. But suprisingly our basement has never flooded (except that one time I left the hose on all night... )...so yeah. Winter weather joy.
^^^Ooo... Floods aren't good, I'm hoping it doesn't flood
We have over a foot (This is too small to express my joy) I wish I got to shovel it, but my dad got to it before me , and he doesn't even like shoveling. I guess he had a lot to do too, he got the car stuck twice, and he passed someone else who got stuck, so he had to shovel his way out every time. And luckily we had a snowday today I'm so gonna go sledding at some point.

Enjoy your snow, wolfloversk! It's been clear and cool here (lows around 0F/-17C and highs around 20F/-7C). That February sun is getting stronger now, and is starting to melt the ice and snow around here even though temps have remained below freezing.
I see the eastern US is getting hit again. Quite a winter there!
If it's a clear night for you, check out the waxing gibbous Moon just south of the orange glow of Mars. Quite pretty!
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
It rained all day today, so I couldn't get outside, its going to tommorrow too, but we're gonna get flurries for the 3 days after that. And the snows still there hooray. Sorry I don't know the exact temp today, but someone at school said it wasn't supposed to go below 35F tomorrow And due to the rain the skies are overcast tonight so sorry but no star report.
PS thanks stargazer, I'll definitely be outside by Sun. Have fun looking at Mars

Woohoo! I got a snow day today! About a foot of snow fell last night, and the roads haven't been plowed, so school got canceled ! Right now, it's still snowing pretty hard, and it's about 25F.
Another sunny day here today, with a predicted high of 25F/-4C. Pretty nice!
I've seen reports of new snowfall totals exceeding 25 inches/64 cm in northern New Jersey today. Impressive!
And New Hampshire's Mount Washington is reporting more of its amazing weather: wind gusts of 132 mph/212 kph. Whew! The mountain isn't very high (6288 ft/1916 m) and not terribly far north, but the geography and weather patterns there allow it to boast of "The World's Worst Weather." Wind gusts over 200 mph have been recorded there.
(There's a now-legendary video called "Breakfast of Champions" showing someone trying to eat outside in strong winds there. The table, chairs, and dining utensils were bolted down, and when the dry cereal and milk were poured they blew away without ever reaching the bowl).
Some of their videos, including this one of them chipping ice off the anemometer tower in high winds, are available online.
And in a bit of nostalgia, the last total solar eclipse of the 20th century to cross Canada and the lower 48 states of the US came 31 years ago today; I traveled to Manitoba to see it with a friend. (The next one comes in August 2017, when totality crosses the US from Oregon to South Carolina. St Louis is very close to the best spot of all to watch it).
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
It has been snowing since yesterday, and I finally got to shovel a little, tommorrow I'll probably go sledding. We easily have a foot, It's the heavy wet kind, although the flakes aren't as big as they were on Wed. (I think it was Wed?) But I'm glad it stopped raining, one of my teachers houses was about to flood!!!

My country was one of many places in the Pacific with Tsunami warnings today after the huge earthquake in Chile.
I live near the beach, about 2-3 km away, which makes it safe enough, but the land is very flat, plus the river is just across the road and is tidal at this point. At the nearby harbour there was a 1 metre swell - quite a bit.
Apparently there will be another period of time when the tides are likely to have a swell again - it's been an exciting day! (does this count as weather?)
EDIT: We've just had a run of lovely hot sunny days - pleasant to be able to sit indoors and drink cold drinks!
There, shining in the sunrise, larger than they had seen him before, shaking his mane (for it had apparently grown again) stood Aslan himself.

Yeah theey had warnings all up the east coast of australia. I live on the west coast though so it was way way away from me. Anyway today has been dead hot with no wind. It's been liek this for about a week now. It's been hotter now then the middle of summer.
Right now it has (finally!) stopped snowing, and it's about 35F. The sky's still cloudy, though, and it might snow more tonight. The two snow piles in my driveway where we've been shoveling are probably at least three feet high each (I built a fort in the back of one--why waste good snow? )!
It was a glorious 36F/2C after lunch today, so I enjoyed a walk in a nearby park. Our snow cover is still around 18 inches/45 cm so the trails were quite smooth, lacking the mud and water that will come in a few weeks when the snow begins to melt.
Glad to hear NZ didn't get big waves from the tsunami, Auntie! (Here's an article about the 1.5-meter wave recorded on the Chatham Islands, southeast of the main islands).
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
Coracle, how did you fare in the end?
In South Australia, we've had some strong winds all yesterday and some of today. I thought it was because of the earthquake/tsunami from Chile but who knows.

It's been really windy here lately. But I like wind.
And the snow is finally starting to melt a little! Yay!
Today it's mostly been cloudy, with some sunshine breaking through the clouds now and then. Right now the temperature's around 33F. It's starting to smell like spring, though, so I'm happy. Too much snow and cold can start to get annoying...
The snow is melting this week.. I'm looking forward to spring/summer, but I hope there's still some snow left next week so I can go skiing. But outdoor hockey is over, that's for sure, last weekend the ice was terrible (lots of interesting falls ).
Sure feels like it's been winter for a long time.
