No more green grass. *sigh* We have to have like a foot of snow out here now
Mod note: please make sure that posts add to the discussion and don't just lament the fact of snow (or no snow), for example. It's interesting to hear more about your area's weather than simply that you don't like (or do like) a certain type. An idea: look up specifics about your weather on a reliable site, such as this one. (It comes up on the Canadian page, but one can easily switch to any area in the world.) There is a lot of interesting and fun info to glean ... and share.
Or describe your weather in more detail. This takes a bit more work, but makes the topic extra interesting.
Thanks!

Does anyone else have extremely large icicles on their houses? We have some that are over three feet long. I find icicles to be very pretty. It's relatively warm today, although its kind of cloudy. Our high is suppossed to be between 36(F) and 43. And our low between 25 and 28. Honestly I think its warmer than 43, but then again I like the cold. There's a lot more snow in the surronding towns, but there's enough here to go sledding.
P.S. Sorry johobbit

Thankfully the snow is melting! Yay! It's a pleasant temperature outside right now (9 C)- I hope it doesn't get much colder
wolfloversk, were you able to go tobogganing the other day? Hope so! And wow, those are huge icicles!
Tonight is the first clear night in over a week and it's loverly to see the brilliant winter night sky again. Unfortunately there were no ISS passes or flares tonight for us to see to add to the beauty.
The little snow we had is now gone ... again as it was +5C/41F today. But ... tomorrow we have another system moving through which should bring a few inches of snow and freshen things up. I'm still longing for one good snowstorm yet, but the way this winter has gone I am not getting my hopes up anymore. It's not uncommon to have doozer snowstorms in March, though, so maybe my longing will still come to pass. (I'm with you, wolf, I like the cooler/cold weather. And stargazer joins us in that too.)

The weather here has been goign from hot to warm randomly throughout the weeks, tommrow it is meant to be 37 degrees celcius.
It's 44 degrees F out right now, but it feels alot colder. It's pretty windy too
wolfloversk, were you able to go tobogganing the other day?
Unfortunately, no, I've had a nasty cold, that's just starting to get better. Also my toboggan has a hole in it, but I'd use it any way. I'm gonna get a new one if I can find one that's the same as mine. Until then however I do have a snowtube which I can use. All of the icicles have fallen off the house, and there is some green patches showing (well actually they're more yellowish-brown) It's about 39 F out and no wind. Slightly overcast. We're supposed to get a ton of snow on Friday, I'm not sure exactly how much, but the people at school are already talking about a potential snowday (which, knowing my school, I doubt will happen.)

Everyone seems to be getting snow, and we're...not.
I just returned from a week on the North Shore of Lake Superior. Some areas there had nearly no snow cover at all; other places just a few miles away still measure their snow cover in feet.
It was clear skies almost all week, with daily temps reaching up to around 35F/2C. (That February sun is getting stronger!) The night skies were spectacular, though by the weekend the growing moon compromised the beauty of Orion and the winter Milky Way. The International Space Station was a frequent morning visitor.
We we lucky enough to spot Vesta, one of the earliest asteroids discovered, in binoculars as it passed close to one of the brighter stars in Leo. It's just a tiny speck even in binoculars, and we weren't sure we'd seen it until we tracked its motion over a few days.
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
It snowed... a lot... ... It wasn't even that cold or windy, but but they were really big Narnia-like flakes, and there were lots of them, or bus slipped a few times coming home from school, which was kind of scary, but we survived accident free. I really hope we get a snow day tommorrow (I know, I can't spell that word) We're supposed to get 12-18 inches

So we've been getting a snow storm warning up here in NH. Supposed to be getting up to a foot . I hope this doesn't happen, but it might later this week . Today was nice though. It was cold but for some reason it felt like Spring. I guess it must have been a bit of humidity in the air or something...
Where I live in Ohio, it's basically been snowing off and on for about two or three weeks now. It snows a few inches, then the snow melts, but after it melts for a few days more snow falls. So the ground hasn't really been totally clear of snow since the beginnign of February.
Right now it's about 30F, and it's freezing raining/snowing (it's a mix, I think). I really like it when the tree branches get coated in a layer of ice--it's so pretty!
