I often have very strange, entertaining dreams. A lot of them involve my friends here on NW. :) Although, sometimes that makes it awkward trying to remember which conversations really happened and which ones were just a dream. ;))

most of the dreams I've been having recenty have been nightmares, I won't get into detail cause most of them are really gory :( Now I'm actually afraid to go to sleep at night

Has anyone ever had it that the woke up from their dream and went about the day and then suddenly woke up from their dream again, like they were dreaming in their dream?

Last night I dreamed that I was at Raleys and I met Peter Jackson there. We were talking and standing near a table, all the while people around us were trying to turn the store into a fun house with tents, and there were reptiles everywhere. :-

3 years later, it's time to unlock this topic ... ;))

So, Nellie (my daughter) had a Narnia dream the other night. She can't get on to post now, so asked me to do so on her behalf:

The Silver Chair movie was released, but for some reason she was only able to see bits and pieces of it. But characters from other stories were also involved, such as
*the dwarves from The Hobbit
*Bilbo, but he was a female hobbit :P
*Eustace, but he was still the former grouchy, miserable, pre-dragoned Eustace
*a donkey named Puddle. Nellie thinks this name was an odd combination of Puddleglum and Puzzle ;))
*there was a dragon, but he was a friendly sort. In fact, Nellie suggested he should be more ferocious and terrifying, like the dragon in Sleeping Beauty, at which point she was treated to that clip from SB in her dream
*there was no sign of Rilian in the film (at least in the parts she saw)
*but the most fun part was that the film script had been found in someone's pocket at a movie theatre AND one of the co-writers was C.S. Lewis, himself! Not that he was still alive, but the script had been written decades before and had been lost all that time. And Nellie had no idea why CSL would incorporate some of JRRT's characters. /:)

Sounds like a fun dream!

I had a dream related to The Hobbit overnight, but didn't remember much when I woke up - only that I wanted to check the beginning of the book to see if a "machinist" was mentioned.

Strange, I know. ;))

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

I had a Narnia-related dream last night. I dreamed I and some friends were transported into Narnia, where we found there were four city-states within Narnia all at war with one another, and the "real" Narnians were all living in an underground bunker (shades of Prince Caspian here), which bore a striking resemblance to Bag End. What was awkward was that, while my friends all remained human, I had been transformed into a Talking Owl, and I was constantly being bothered by a family of orphaned dumb owls who wanted me to adopt them. Some Narnian prince or other told me this was quite common among Talking Beasts. I found flying around terrific fun, but picking things up was a pain, and eating proved difficult as my taste in food had remained human.

(Aside: the spell checker is fine with "Narnia" but objects to "Narnian".)

Giggle  King_Erlian, fascinating dream!

Nellie had a dream last night, and she asked me to post it here on her behalf: johobbit had lost her beloved Elven brooch and was feeling very desperate, because how on Middle-earth was she going to get through Shelob's Lair without it?! You see, it had an egg that glowed that attached to the top of the brooch, but the egg (which, we presume, was filled with light from Galadriel's phial) would not light up unless it was secured to the brooch. Sadly, neither were found in the dream, so we're not sure if she made it through that horrible Lair or not.  Tongue

I keep dreaming about the video games I'm playing. Right now I'm obsessed with Stardew Valley. So I've been dreaming that I'm playing the game and that I keep messing up my farm and not getting the crops grown in time! :|

I always have nightmares or bad dreams :( It is so rare for me to have a good dream that I remember them very distinctly. One good dream I recently had helped me come up a scene for my novel :)

Sometimes I have dreams about spiders. Those are so awful!

Well this is a cool thread! Why have I not discovered this before?

I once had a dream I was at a church gathering inside a huge reception hall. The people around me were worried because a pack of wolves were at the exit door, scratching trying to get in. Me and a few other guys went searching in the broom closet for a gun or some other weapon to deter them with, but as I could have known in real life, we found nothing. We decided to split up and sneak out another door to go find help.

I went up a wooded hill and met a woman walking her dog outside what looked like an abandoned museum. I told her of my problem, and she took me into this museum, saying she owned it, and led me into a room that was half a storage closet and half bedroom, with shelves loaded with exercise gear of some kind. Then she brought me a crossbow and a few bolts which looked like short, squat lawn darts with four blades on the end.

I took the crossbow and began walking up the hill into the woods. It was autumn I remember, and I was climbing a shallow waterfall (which was easier than the one in Narnia because it actually had rocks under it to step on) up to the top. But when I got to the top, I was confronted not by wolves, but by men with longbows, pointing at me and threatening. At that moment, a huge white wolf walked up next to me, (I didn't see where it came from) and stood beside me like it wanted to stand up for me against these men. I reached out to touch it, but it whipped its head around and gave me a look as if to say "Don't do that." This happened several times. Then the men came forward. I raised my crossbow and shot at them- and instantly woke up.

I still remember that dream after two years without keeping any record of it. I've always loved wolves in real life, so I guess it makes sense that one would protect me in my dreams!

Nellie of Narnia has Narnia-related dreams occasionally, and here is the most recent. (She gave me permission to post this here.)

There was a play of a Narnia story going on, 'though I don't know which one. I found out about it through an ad in a newspaper. We went to see it, and while I don't recall much about the performance, afterwards in the big party room (I guess this was non-COVID times Tongue ) you could book and be a part of a Narnia story of your choice! This didn't have to be one of the Chronicles; rather, you could think of any scenario and play it out in the land of Narnia. Giggle

I wanted to go for a ride on Bree the Horse, but then I changed my mind to Hwin the Mare (she is my favourite of the two in real life). Then I wanted to have a cozy meal on a snowy winter's afternoon at the Beavers' house. I didn't get to do either of them before my dream ended, but those were my intentions.

But! some people took the opportunity too far and were planning to punish Darth Vader for his actions. Wups, wrong story, I know LOL   but I didn't think of this in the dream. It seemed make sense then. Silly Giggle
