We'll look around for episodes of The Sarah Jane Adventures and the Eighth Doctor's movie, and then probably move into the new era of the Doctor (I'm currently early in the Peter Capaldi era in my own viewing).

I can vouch for The Sarah Jane Adventures, I've got all five seasons on DVD, and in my opinion it taps into that family friendly feel that the classic Doctor Who had.  IMO the more modern Doctor Who felt a bit more "grown up" (for want of a better description) and although still mostly family friendly, I think it is a bit less child-friendly at times.  Whereas I think TSJA can be more easily enjoyed by a younger audience.  I tend to pull out the DVDs when I want to watch a bit of light Doctor Who.  Although that said - even some of TSJA episodes can be a bit darker and scary for some kids too, I would think. Hmmm

Also - regarding Peter Capaldi, I feel he reminded me a bit of Tom Baker of old. Giggle

*~JESUS is my REASON!~*
