Pixar has done excellent movies. I love their shorts as well. Since Disney can't seem to do any really good movies anymore. Some of the newer ones are okay, but some of them *shivers*--oh my.
They certainly aren't up to the standards of the originals. Or even the ones of the early 1990's. I watched Aladdin for the first time in a very long time the other day and forgotten how good it was.
Amen to that!!!!! As much as I am a fan of Walt Disney, I am NOT a fan of what the company has done to his name. Ever since about ten-twenty years after Walt Disney's death, the Disney Company has been going in a downward spiral. If Walt Disney knew about some of the movies they've made in the past ten years, he wouldn't have just turned over in his grave, he probably would have rolled over and dug deeper!!!
It's kind of funny, though, how much I love Disney. I'm not a Disney fan that collects pins or stuffed animals or merchandise, and I've only been to Disneyland twice in the past two years, but I love the Disney movies. I also get very analytical as well. My friends and family roll their eyes when I start talking about the difference between "Pure Disney" and "Post Disney" and "Disney the Company". (Let's just say I'm pretty adamant about the difference). In my book, "Pure Disney" are the movies made by either Walt Disney himself or by the people who worked with him personally (for example, Robin Hood, Aristocats, and others were made after Disney's death, but still are pretty much the same stylistically as the ones Disney made himself). "Post Disney" movies are the movies made as a new generation of workers started to take over the company, but were still fairly true to Disney's vision, such as Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Mulan, etc. "Disney the Company" is the modernization of Disney, when the Company completely flushed Walt Disney's philosophies and beliefs about movies down the toilet (all of the "sequels" to the old movies, and a lot of the current live action movies). The reason "Post Disney" is different from "Pure Disney" is because the "Post Disney" movie-makers started to slightly deviate from Walt Disney's morals and beliefs. Notice that in the "Post Disney" movies, plots started to become slightly more mature (as in, if they were live action, they wouldn't be kids' movies), and the Female Characters began to wear clothing that was more and more revealing (Jasmine, Ariel, etc.). Along with that, violence became more and more present, and jokes became more and more worldly. Don't get me wrong, though. I love all Pure and Post Disney movies--it's the "Disney the Company" movies I don't like (except a select few, but they still aren't true to Walt Disney's vision).
Okay, I'll get off my soapbox now and rant and rave about all of my favorites. I absolutely LOVE classic Disney movies. When I was two, my absolute favorite movie in the world was Pinocchio. When I was five, it was The Aristocats. Now I can't exactly say I have any particular favorites. I'm now trying to get my own copies of all of the old Disney movies, now that I'm on my own. I also annoy my younger siblings because I constantly insist that they watch the "classics". Some of my siblings haven't even seen many of my childhood favorites!! Sad, isn't it? I think my favorite Disney Princess is probably Jasmine or Pocahontas, but I am most like Belle and Cinderella. I also love many of Walt Disney's live action movies, like 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, No Deposit, No Return, Escape to Witch Mountain, The Parent Trap (with Hayley Mills), The Lovebug Collection, The Absent-Minded Professor, The Strongest Man in the World, Candleshoe, Freaky Friday, and, well, the list goes on and on. I also have all five of the Classic Disney Collection CDs, which equals 125 Classic Disney songs.
My cousin is probably more of a Disney fanatic than I am, though. She goes to Disneyland several times a year, and her house is decorated Disney. She has a Spiderman bathroom (the "boy's" bathroom), which has a Spiderman poster, a red light (which is so cool! ), a Spiderman soap dispenser, and men's soap. Then she has a Tinkerbell bathroom (the "girl's" bathroom), which has green walls, Tinkerbell decorations, and the words "Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust" on the wall. I love it.
Anyways, it's getting late. I probably ought to get off before I get started...

I'm not a super big fan of the old animated movies. I guess it's probably because I didn't grow up with them. I've only seen Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, and Mulan. I've never seen any of the others. I wasn't allowed to because my parents didn't like the "bad" messages in them. They said that the Little Mermaid taught kids to disobey their parents and stuff like that. Those that I have seen, I saw without my parents permission. I was over at someones house or something and watched them because it's a Disney movie and you know they're clean. At the time, my parents had never told me why we never watched them when I was little.
I love the live action films so much!!! The Parent Trap, No Deposit No Return, Apple Dumpling Gang, the Herbie movies, That Darn Cat. those are so good!!! Especially the ones with Don Knotts.
The first movie I saw in a theater was "Beauty and the Beast" when I was about 5.
The first movie I saw in a theater was Bambi - and it was a drive-in! (That's a hint about my age )
I think my favorite classic animated Disney film is Lady and the Tramp - I have fond memories of watching it when I was younger.
Here comes a shock: I'm 21, and I've never been to Disneyland or Disneyworld.
I've never been to either park...and I'm - ancient. Part of that probably comes from growing up in "fly-over country," far from either location.
I like most of the Pixar films, though Cars and Ratatouille are probably the ones I like least. Nothing wrong with the films themselves, really, they just don't appeal to me as much as others do.
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
I like Suite Life on Deck, Sonny with a Chance and Wizards of Waverly place. How about you all?

Wizards of Waverly Place is my favorite disney channel show. Second is Sonny with a Chance.
I really love the older Disney films, mostly the animated classic ones like Lion King, Mulan, Hercules, ect. I've been to Disneyland twice I think...both times I was really little, I think at 2 and then 5, so I don't remember much except that I was scared of the caterpillar from Alice in Wonderland!
I don't like the newer Disney stuff so much, no offense to you who do like it, but it just doesn't appeal to me somehow.

You enjoy the older Disney movies? Yet you didn't mention any. Those you mentioned were from 1994 and later.

Okay, well, to me those are fairly old. *laughs* I guess I should have put it this way - I like the ones that were made in the 90's and earlier. Such as...Robin Hood? I think that was the 70's?

I am that way with the parks. I call myself a Disneyland purist. I love Disneyland because it was actually planned by Walt himself. And I don't like when they start messing with the original rides that are left. Although, they have had a change of heart in the last few years and have left the originals alone. (The Enchanted Tiki Room, for example--same as it has always been). I'm don't care if they mess around with the newer ones, but the ones Walt actually worked one (unless they are upgrading animatronics or soundtracks), I don't think they should make changes. Like Pirates; they added Jack Sparrow and Davy Jones, from the 2nd movie!!!??? So, not only did they change the meaning of the ride, it was outdated before it was opened nearly! And don't get me started on the burning cabin! Sorry, I'll get off MY soapbox now.
But just got back from Disneyland...love it at Christmas. The huge Christmas tree in Town Square; all the lights and decorations. It's a great time to go!
Love God, love people
Disneyland is so fun(minus the long lines you have to wait in) and as most people the Classic Disney is more warm-hearting for me. The new stuff is o.k, it is watchable it's just that magic formula isn't present much anymore. But I'm not dead against it like some people are.
Plus I just adore 2d animation and a good story told. Guess it's why I prefer the good old stuff. Hope it makes a come back with Princess and the Frog...

My favorite Disney cartoons are Lion King, Beauty & the Beast, Lady & the Tramp, and Mulan.
Lion King is my special favorite because I don't remember watching it for the first time. I can quote the whole cartoon from memory
I like Beauty & the Beast because I always liked Belle and I can also quote the cartoon from memory

Let's just say, overall, I prefer Disney films and shows made before the year 2000.
Of course, there are exceptions!
But my favorite Disney movie is 'Beauty and the Beast'. All the other animated movies fall into #2 because it is just too heart-wrenching to further number them!

as for me,
I've always been a disney fan all my life.. I used to absolutely love Ariel.. My school friends used to make me sing her songs all the time when I was like 9 years old 'cause they said my singing sounded just like hers.. and yes, I knew all the lines from the movie 'the little mermaid' as well.. I was a major fan of Belle for a while there, too..^^
Now, my fav disney character is Alice in Wonderland.. (actually I'm planning to finish her costume I'm making in January sometime..) I like all the recent disney shows/movies, too.. The Emperor's New Groove is awesome.. I love the character of Yzma.. She so hilarious for a really old lady villianess. ;D
Aladdin is cool.. Disney's movie "Return to Oz" was a interesting take on the continuing of the wizard of oz.. I love Phineus and Ferb.. (:
and one show that I absolutely loved as a kid that disney had in the early 90's was Disney's Adventures In Wonderland.. I used to watch it failthfully every week day and weekend.. ^^
I haven't been to Disney world in years, eventhough I live in FL.. But I loved the Haunted Mansion ride.. it's so dark and creepy.. my kind of place.. ^^
And the parade was pretty cool, too.. ♥

Return to Oz was great. Dark and disturbing but very imaginative and well-done. I've always felt Disney tamed Alice's adventures for children (er, the original was written for children).
Beauty and the Beast is very good but probably more girl-orientated than some other Disney movies.
