Since I have had two recent discussions with Disney fans in the last few days here on NarniaWeb, I thought I would open a thread so we can really discuss our Disney favorites!

You can discuss movies, theme parks, collections, etc.

I collect Disney pins (mostly Disneyland) and have since 1985 when I got a limited edition one (which was very rare back then). I have over 1000 pins. I specifically collect Stitch (I love Stitch), Disneyland, and the Disneyland (monthly) gift with pin purchase pins.

I love Disneyland in general and have a lot of collectibles from 1960's to the present. I also have quite a few Walt Disney Classics Collection pieces. My house used to be decorated almost exclusively in Disney, but now I only have my very special collectibles (the Disney cats and Stitch) and a Mickey bathroom!

I did have all of the original animated movies on VHS, and am working to get them on DVD. I have quite a few.

I have been to the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, thanks to my uncle's friend. I have been to the archives (so cool) there and saw an original Steamboat Willie cel! And so many other things! That was so fun. And I know the niece of the original animator and voice of Eeyore!

I have met many Disneyland pioneers and heard them speak. They were amazing people. And most of them did double duty as animators and voice actors. You hear them in The Enchanted Tiki Room; the original Haunted Mansion; and Pirates of the Caribbean.

My grandpa used to say that I have "Disneyitis" for which there is no cure. :D

Love God, love people

I love Disney! :D My home base is 2 hours from Disney World (I am at college in another state now) and I used to go there ALL the time. Love it!

I do like Disneyland better, though. It just feels more homey and magical (and the rides are longer and more complex).

I also collect Disney pins. I don't trade, because I only get what means something to me, like Narnia pins! I tend to mostly get LE pins, as well. (Was anyone else mad that they didn't create PC release date pins with Lucy and Edmund on them?!?!) At last count I had 75, but that's only because I have 3 full sets of Star Wars Weekends pins.

I also used to play VMK. I'm still bitter over that. :((

I love Disney, I lived in Chicago so my first time to Disney World was in the summer of 1999. I now live in Florida, 4 hours away from Disney- however I have only gone a handful of times.

I simply love Magic Kingdom,
I have a map of the place that I use every time we go, as I play the guide each time. The one time I didn't we missed alot. I like the other parks as well, though I haven't yet been to Epcot. My favorite ride is It's A Small World, the music is what I like most in it.

I have most their classic animated movies, almost all, one or two I don't.
I had The Black Cauldron, but it didn't click right with me so I got rid of it.
I also have many of their live action, (as in not animated), movies.
I love POTC, yes all 3. I love Eight Below and The Greatest Game Ever Played, this last not known by many people.

As for their classic animated shorts,
all the ones that are available I have on The Disney Treasures collection:
Mickey Mouse-(though one of the colors is in Portuguese, I didn't realize the mistake until it was too late but I can change the menu to english and view it just fine)
Goofy, Donald Duck, and Pluto- all volumes
I have both Silly Symphonies and the Disney Rarities with the Alice shorts.
I have Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.

I even have Song of the South,
bought it on the net. then I realized it was bootleg, as Disney doesn't offer it.
Whenever, if ever, they do- I'll buy it legitimately.

I even have two copies of the original sketches of Mickey Mouse and one of the Three Little Pigs.

Oh, I love Disney! :D

When I was around 4, I think, we went to Disney World. (Disney World is the one in Florida, right? I can never get them straight! ;)) )

For the movies, I really like some of the Disney Princesses. Alot of the movies are good ones, and I wish some people would appreciate them for what they are. :)
My favourite Disney princess movie has to be Beauty and the Beast, after that it's Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty.

For some reason, when we watched some stuff, I can't remember remembering it as Disney! However, I do remember enjoying Mickey Mouse shows alot.
And, of course, Winnie the Pooh. I absolutely love that, still! (Especially Vintage Winnie the Pooh. D'aw!)

Well, where do I start? ;))

For the last three or four months that I lived in SoCal, I had an AP to Disneyland along with my family and we went nearly every week. It was our "happy place" in life when everything was so topsyturvy from preparing to move half-way across the country. I developed a real love for Disney and Disney parks, and I have to admit that one of the most gutting things about Disney dumping Narnia was that I'll never get to see a real Narnia attraction in a Disney park! :((

There's a lot more I could write about DL and how much I love it, but I thought I'd show off my Disneyland Resort FastPass collection. For anyone who's been to a Disney park, FP's are little tickets that you can get using your admittance ticket that allows you to board popular attractions with little wait. DLR's FP's have very pretty illustrations on them, so I started collecting them about a month into my AP. The dates range from September '07 to March '09. ;)) I now have every current DLR FP, and hope to add some older/rare ones to my collection in the future!

That photo was taken before my most recent visit this past March...I've since replaced the Autopia one with a newer one because my old one was written on.

ok before i say anything else i have to get this clear to everyone: I LOVE the Little Mermaid. Airel is my role model ever since i could speak. I have had at least 10 dolls of her and more than a dozen themed outfits some which i still have now :-$ And everytime we go to disney world i HAVE to take a picture with her and the last time i did it was two years ago and I'm 14 btw and i'm not ashamed. lol I have a Little Mermaid blanket that i've used ever since I was born. I have all three movies and know all the lines and lyrics to the first movie. I have that on vcr which means its pretty old. i pretty much know all the actors and actresses on it. Seriously I am the Little Mermaid expert. I watched the tv series all the time when i was younger and occasionally do but not that often cuz i'm too lazy to get up at six every morning (love her but not that much). So anyway don't speak bad about her cuz i'm gonna track you down and give you the what for. :p jk jk but seriously don't insult her. lol

I love Disney World too. We used to go like every Christmas (haha two years ago was the last time as you can tell hehe) My favorite ride was the It's A Small World one. Love it!

Disney were my foray into imaginative, well-conceived cartoon movies.
As I've grown older, I still enjoy some of them but find Studio Ghibli/Hayao Miyazaki movies to be better made and more interesting.
The first movie I ever saw in the cinema was Milo and Otis (not Disney). The second movie I saw was The Little Mermaid. I enjoyed it a lot (especially Sebastian the crab) but Ursala? the witch/squid woman, frightened me badly but in a good way.

My favourite Disney movies are:
The Lion King
Mulan
Atlantis: The Lost Empire
Aladdin
Tarzan
The Emperor's New Groove

Currently watching:
Doctor Who - Season 11

Yes, that's right. I used to pretend I was Sebastian. It was a little odd.
No worries mate! I was only 6 years old at the time, so I'm not unusually old. ;)

I totally agree. My pins are ones that I want to keep. I do buy specific "traders" at the Disney outlet store in Fullerton, CA or Vegas and those I use to get the gift with purchase pins that I don't have and I only trade with Cast Members. Or a hidden Mickey pin that I like. I got all the Alice in Wonderland hidden mickey pins because that's the only pin specifically of Dinah, Alice's cat. My most precious cat I ever had was named after her.

And I agree that Disneyland's better, I like the more cozy feel (and that's how I explain it to people) and I've been going there my whole life so it's like home to me.

I forgot to mention that Walt Disney and I share the same birthdate: December 5th. Although, 69 years apart.

Narnian1~I think it's so cool that you have some of the rare Oswald and Alice shorts. I bought one of those Song of the South pirated copies off the internet; I think we were so disgusted because we couldn't tell that it was a pirated copy until we got it in hand that we threw it away immediately.

And, I also saw The Little Mermaid in the theater; and I was in my 1st year of college. Yes, I'm old! ;)) But still a kid at heart!

Gymmie~I love your fast pass collection! That's so great! :D I'll see if I can help you get any others in 2 weeks when we go!!!!! Yay!!!!

Love God, love people

I love those rare shorts,
especially since not many people have them, yes I pride in having them :D
As for Song of the South, I sent in a complaint and almost returned it, but I love the animated portions so much I figured I keep it until a legitimate copy was available. Better that than nothing.

The first Disney movie I saw in theaters was Aladdin and I loved it.
The first Disney movies I remember ever seeing however were Cinderella and Bambi, on VHS of course, those two bring fond memories to me- some vivid moments I think I recall (I can never know if they actually did occur or if it was ever just a dream)

Yesterday was so lucky to stumble into a DVD with The Reluctant Dragon,
I've been wanting it for years. It's been available but in a set which I didn't want, cost $25, which isn't bad but it I didn't want the rest of the DVD.

The copy I found yesterday cost $13 and contains 3 other shorts which I already own but as it was the cheapest way, I bought it. I doubt they'll ever release it on its own.

Now I do hope its put into a Disney Treasures: Disney Raritities Vol 2, along with some other animated shorts that aren't available yet- but that's not announced yet even though fans are requesting it.

Wow; the first Disney movie I saw in the theater was probably the Rescuers. I don't know if we saw Winnie-the-Pooh, but if we did, that one would have been it. We might have seen that one, because one of my favorite childhood toys was this plastic "TV" that played Winnie the Pooh's theme and rotated scenes from the movie. I pretty much have seen them all since in the theater.

And I avoid all the sequels. Walt Disney did not want any sequels to his movies. So, Peter Pan VI or whatever (I'm exaggerating here) I haven't seen. I've seen The Little Mermaid II, only because my best friend loves The Little Mermaid, and she was in labor at the time, so I watched it ;))

I think Disney has excellent animation although a lot of rival studios are starting to give them a run for their money nowadays. I always loved The Black Hole and Tron, their sci-fi, live action movies. And Swiss Family Robinson was a lot of fun too despite it being very different from the book (which itself took a step off the deep end of reality), as well as the old 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and Perri. And anything with Haley Mills in it back in the day was just fine with me (I had a terrible crush on her in my formative years). And The Love Bug was always a personal favorite of mine too. Someone in my town has an old VW bug they've pained up like Herbie and it's a trip to see it driving down the street in mid-day traffic. As the animated movies go, I always was partial to Bambi, but that was the first one I ever really saw. :D

I think some of Disney's finest work was with Fantasia. I love Fantasia (the animated movie, not the American Idol singer) and can watch that any time and any place and be quite content. The classical music is fused so well with the action on the screen. Fantasia 2000 was also good but never surpassed the first one for sheer scope. It was truly an amazing achievement!
