I think this is my recital song (for jazz) this year!
I don't know the theme yet(we dont start learning recital dances until late March) but my jazz teacher gave us a hint that the song was from the Dixie Chicks and it had the word Dance in the title- so I think this is the song.
She also said that the theme was not country...anyone have any ideas of that the theme could be?

For me, dance season is over. It was fun and for our finale in addition to our regular routine, me and three other girls (including winterlife) got to do an amazing routine called "Till the Walls Fall". It was a professionally choreographed routine that we learned off a DVD. It went really well!
I left for college the day that the other three girls were going to perform it at a Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration. So in four days, I had to teach my little sister the entire 6 and a half minute routine! She knew part of it but I went over the whole thing so many times! There are two parts to it. In several spots, two people do one thing while the other two people do another thing. So as a result of teaching my sister, I now know both parts inside out, upside down, backwards, and forwards!
I must say, if you want to learn a routine really really well, teach it to somebody! You will know it so well by the time you're done.
I'm still Irish Step Dancing! I love it more than ever now! I'm dancing novice/prizewinner level steps, but I've only competed once, so my competition levels compared to the steps I can actually do are really low. Competitions are expensive and time consuming.
In dance right now, we're learning the finale to Riverdance. I'm kind of annoyed with it. Why do we have to learn Riverdance? The steps aren't even that hard! Okay, they are hard, but not complicated. The only reason they're hard is because they're so stinkin' fast! And the style, including the music, is much different from traditional Step dance. It's sort of fun though, I guess.
I'm helping my teacher teach the beginners now, which is exciting! It's really exhausting too. It means I'm at dance class on Fridays, dancing from 430 p.m. But my teacher is so nice. Since I help her teach, I don't have to pay for tuition! Whoot! And I have a lot of fun with the little kids. They're so adorable. And any time you do anything with your feet, they stare at you in awed admiration.
My favorite kinds of Irish Step Dance are the Ceilidh dances, the original group dances. Ceilidh dancing is like Square dancing, only more fun! The best thing about dance though is the group I get to dance with. Everyone is so nice, so eager to dance. Everyone has great attitudes and is more than willing to teach me. It's such a refreshing atmosphere!
We have a lot of upcoming performances in March for St. Patrick's Day and then there's a Medieval Fair coming up soon which I really want to go to. And our spring recital at the end of the school semester. Excited!
If you've never heard of Irish Step Dance, it's really two types of dancing, soft shoe and hard shoe. Soft shoe is danced with ghillies or reel shoes (for guys with hard heels that click ) and is more like ballet. Hard shoe is danced with shoes that have a fiber glass toe and heel that make noise.

Irish step dancing looks so cool! The precision of it completely amazes me! Its so neat to watch!
I've never seen the hard shoe one though! It looks cool too!!
Riverdance also has the same kind of precision right?

I do Irish Dancing as well...It is like Riverdance but (I don't know about anyone else) Our dancing is slower!
I really would love to be able to dance...I've tried Ballet, Hip hop/street, Contemperary, Line dance... but I just look rediculous I guess being 5 foot 8 with the gracefulness of a carthorse doesn't help!
My friends are good dancers and they try to teach me so i've got a chance!
Irish Dancing is fun and I think it is also a good way to stay fit...I've been in a dance show as well which is exciting! anyone esle...

Seriously, just give the kid the orange. He needs his vitamin C!
I started ballet in September. I'm 18, so clearly I won't go very far, but I would really like to get on pointe some day... ah, wishful thinking! I only dance one hour a week but I would love to dance more often, but college and working make it pretty much impossible!
I'd also like to try tap, jazz, and some ballroom dances like swing and waltz.

My dancing includes and it definitely limited to:
1. The electric slide. My siblings and I decided to learn it one day last year. It is very simple and fun!
2. Square dancing. I have gone to a square dance annually for the last 7-8 years and finally took lessons last year. The lessons started in about September and the graduation "ceremony" was at the end of January. The graduation was so much fun! We tried square dancing with a balloon between our knees--it was so funny! I've got one more workshop this Sunday and then the beginners' dance next week! *squee*
I would love to learn some sort of ballroom dancing. The waltz, the tango, something!

I can't really dance, so I admire anyone that can. As another poster said, my dancing is limited. I can do the Electric Slide and the Macarena. Besides that, I can't really dance, but I love watching others dance!

I'm sure there are youtube videos for that
