So, here we can discuss all the current and past Crime Shows...what are your favorites? :D

My top two favorites are Criminal Minds and The Mentalist. Both of them seem more geared toward figuring out how the criminal's mind works, and that sort of thing, rather then just hunting down the bad guy with cool gadgets. Monk is hilarious, of course. When I was younger I was really into Sue Thomas, not so much now. I'll sometimes watch Bones or Castle with my mom, who's obsessed with all crime/cop shows. :P And if Foyle's War can be considered a crime show..well, I'm a huge fan of that as well. :D
I'll occasionally watch some CSI with mom, but I'm not a huuuuge fan of it, especially the "cool music while the technology figures stuff out" montages :P

Oh,yay!

Val,you sound just like me. ;)) Sue Thomas was my favorite when I was younger, but not now. And I love Criminal Minds,The Mentalist, and Monk.

Probably my favorite part of a CM episode was when

Spoiler
Spencer didn't know what Twilight was. ;))
. But that episode was slightly disturbing. :| Actually the majority of them are. :P
CM is probably my favorite crime drama though because it's harder to figure out. I like a challenge. :P

I just love the way Jane acts in The Mentalist. He cracks me up! =)) Cho is great too. I kinda feel sorry for Lisbon sometimes, since she has to deal with Jane's crazy antics. ;))
I think Lisbon looks like Emily Prentiss from Criminal Minds. But I don't who the actresses are,or if they're related.

And who doesn't love Monk? He's so sweet! I really liked the episode when

Spoiler
he got a dog.
I honestly didn't like the finale.
Spoiler
It just seemed unbelieveable to me that Trudy would do what she did.

What about Matlock? :) Andy Griffith was in it. I haven't watched it in a long time though...

I haven't gotten a chance to check out Psych though. Everyone tells me it's hilarious.

I love Castle! It's such a fun show, and I feel like they've done a superb job with the characterization.

Has anyone ever watched Leverage? It's an interesting, but very good show, about a group of "criminals" who actually work to help people; they are former hackers/grifters/thieves, so they know what they're doing. It's kind of like modern-day Robinhood. The show's tagline is something along the lines of "The rich and powerful take what they want. We steal it back for you." It's an Ocean's 11-esque show -- very fun, and the characters are just hilarious.

I haven't watched any in a while, but my favorites have been Law and Order SVU, NCIS, Monk, Criminal Minds, and way back when: Diagnosis Murder. Out of those, my favorites would be NCIS, Monk, and Diagnosis Murder. I love NCIS because of the frequent movie refrences and the great characters. I saw the episode when LWW was mentioned. Monk is great. And Diagnosis Murder was a 90's great with Dick Van Dyke (you'd know him from Mary Poppins, Night at the Museum, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and a few others).

Be watching for the release of my spiritual warfare novel under a new title: "Call to Arms" by OakTara Publishing. A sequel (title TBD) will shortly follow.

I can't comment on present shows but I like a lot of older ones. The most recent things I've seen are the Mystery Woman movies and the Murder 101 shows. Murder 101 also has Dick Van Dyke in it. I've seen some of Diagnosis Murder. My mom has the first three seasons of it on DVD. I've seen some of the "movies" too. My mom said the shows got weird towards the end. My favorite show is Hardy Boys / Nancy Drew Mystery. I also like Scarecrow and Mrs. King, Perry Mason, Adam-12, Dragnet, Colombo, Charlie's Angels (the show), and Mission Impossible (does that count?). #-o I just realized that I forgot to put Murder She Wrote on my list and I'm watching it right now. 8-|

What about Matlock? :) Andy Griffith was in it. I haven't watched it in a long time though...

Ditto. I can only take so much of it until Matlock gets on my nerves. He is so whiny.

My favorites are Monk (I agree with you Lark, that one was so cute! I also like the one where

Spoiler
He fosters a little boy for a week or so, and it turns out the little boy is just like him ;))
, NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles, and Psych. I also like Burn Notice.

I saw the episode when LWW was mentioned.

Haha, I saw that one too, and I was so excited I rushed onto NarniaWeb to say something...then had no idea where to post it so just gave up :P That's still one of my favorite episodes though.

My favorite thing about NCIS is the characters. They're all so unique and great together :p

Monk is the only crime show I ever really watch. We used to watch NUMB3RS but we stopped because they were growing increasingly less appropriate :-s

My favorites are Monk (I agree with you Lark, that one was so cute! I also like the one where

Spoiler

I LOVED that one. It was adorable. And sad. I felt really bad for the violinist though :(( I liked how they used a variation on the original theme music with the piano in the credits because it fit the mood a lot better.

Is it really necessary that we put the episode descriptions in spoilers, haha? It's not likely that somebody who hasn't already seen it is going to suddenly want to see it and then be mad that we spoiled the plot. :P But unless someone tells me otherwise, I'll just go ahead and use spoilers I guess.

Last night we watched the Monk episode

Spoiler
from season 4 where he gets hit on the head, put onto the back of a truck and goes to Wyoming, and has amnesia. And then this rather ugly lady convinces him that he's her husband, and tries to make him do housework for him. It was definitely one of the weirdest episodes ever ;))

We're watching through all the episodes right now on DVD. When
Spoiler
Sherona left in the middle of season 3 I was really sad! I like Natalie a lot too but Sherona's attitude really made things entertaining. :P

I love Criminal Minds. I only have 23 channels so I don't get a lot. Criminal Minds to me is more realistic and genius then most crime shows that i've watched. By 'Genius' I mean every line that a character says is smart and legitimate, it makes you feel like you're watching a reality show of real crime fighters. I love it so much!! ;)

Currently there are only two crime shows I'm watching though I've been told I should watch NCIS and I liked the one episode of Psych I saw. Anyway, I've been watching Castle on and off since it started airing. Still need to catch up on that. I'm working on the first season of Burn Notice right now. I saw a good chunk of the the latest season while I was in the hospital and I got hooked on it. Fi reminds me of some of my RP characters. ;))

I just finished a course on Computer Forensics and there are a number of things that the crime shows do that are absolute no-nos. Using NCIS because they have two computer geeks on the show for example. What happens when they first get a computer, or cell phone, or any other device with digital data? They often boot it up. WRONG ANSWER!!! Starting up a computer erases all the volitale data, can get a password to lock, or even initiate a program that will wipe the hard drive clean. Oh, and imaging a hard drive (making an exact bit-by-bit copy of it for analysis) can take many hours or even days, just for the copy if the hard drive is big enough. Analysing it after that can take weeks. It is always interesting to see how the real world does it in comparison to the TV world.

I liked the original CSI, though I have not watched any episodes in a long time.

One of my favorite old crime shows is The New Detectives. It airs now on Investigation Discovery.

And of course, my favorite TV show is America's Most Wanted. What would we do without it?

My favourite mystery crime series are:

Pushing Daisies - quirky, colourful and light-hearted
Monk - quality comedy/drama, at least until Trish left
CSI (the original) - sombre mystery, started off great
Jonathan Creek - clever and rather odd
The Wire - seriously great writing but very adult
Veronica Mars - smart, touching, frustrating and at times, funny
Twin Peaks - dark, disturbing, quirky and confusing (and helped inspire the majority of series listed above + LOST)

I've also watched some of The Mentalist and found it enjoyable.

Currently watching:
Doctor Who - Season 11

Yeah, that series is quite good. The theme music is seriously creepy. I'm not sure that it's screened in the US though.
