Is your boyfriend okay with something like socks? I've got to say the brand name 'Darn Tough' is pretty great though.

*has really been enjoying reading this thread!!*
Thank-you for the encouragement on the guitar, Mountie! I feel more hopeful buying it. This one was $17 dollars, and looked pretty good for that price, at least for a beginner. I'm not sure if it's still in stock, but I am still dreaming about being able to play it! I hope you find the eReader that's a perfect fit!
Lilygloves, thank-you for sharing that story of getting C.S. Lewis books--how special!! I have a similar story: I had the whole Chronicles of Narnia on my wishlist for some time, because I really wanted my own set. I was thinking about saving up to get some from Borders even though it was a bit pricey and they possibly did not have the cover art I wanted. However, I went to a second-hand store shortly after and found all 7 of them, in mint condition, and just the editions I wanted. I was so grateful and blessed.
That's so exciting about the skis, Julie!
Tools are always good. Mostly non-moterized. Less noisy, and less chance of accidents.
Ditto.
And, right, I should've remembered the Narnian "Father Christmas"! *knows the two, Santa and Father Christmas, are different and all, but thinks "Father Christmas" is a more poetic name for the character who brings gifts*
I'm glad you knew where the title was adapted was from, stargazer!
Can't help thinking of one year I sang that song a few too many times, and my sister gave me a gag gift of a toy hippo. Ah, good times.
Ahaha, that's so special.
Ditto about The Pursuit of God.
*loves how chocolate is on so many people's list* your list sounds nice, Miss R!
Lol, I hear you on the t-shirts, AJ.
Haha, I hope you get your wishes, Wrose!
That's exciting about the pointe shoes, Genny! And I hope you get all the gifts on your list done and given in time.
Ditto, Riella. The list I posted above was after some thinking of what I had wished for during the year.
*ponders on adding a TAN CD to her list, as SnowAngel's post reminded her....*
The Tintin book looks very nice, W4J. (and of course, lollies!)
Definitely, Julie. I wrote in the bottom of the intro post that we can write about gifts we are giving and also, share fun gift ideas. It sounds like you've got your Christmas shopping almost done!
I have so far gotten only 2 things for Christmas. I need to use a giftcard, but we're waiting for the right day to go. The first thing I got, I cannot write because it's for my sister, who is a member. Anywho, I got it at /veryveryvery/ remarkable price and can't wait to see her face when I give it to her. The second thing I got was a book (The Five Languages of Apology by Dr. Gary Chapman) for my mom. She knew this one, so it isn't a surprise, but nevertheless a Christmas gift.

I'm afraid I'm not very skilled in the art of Christmas-wish-list-making. To be honest, this is the first wishlist I've ever made! As fun as wishlists are making, surprises are sweeter, I must say.
a driver's license
a new pair of hard shoes (size 5 1/2 please--far fetched, I know)
a keyboard, preferably with weighted keys
any sheet music from any artists I like
"The Long Fall Back to Earth" by Jars of Clay
"Vice Verses" by Switchfoot
The Hawk in Paris' EP
Scarlett and Hood by Stephen R. Lawhead
Howl's Moving Castle and House of Many Ways by Diana Wynne Jones
Arena by Karen Hancock
ANY and ALL of Jane Austen's books
ANY and ALL of J.R.R. Tolkien's books
ANY and ALL of C.S. Lewis' books, except for Weight of Glory which I already have
And yet, none of the things on this list can surpass the joy of family and our being all together for the holiday! I wouldn't take any of these wishes over spending time with family and friends this Christmas and that is my most sincere wish!!
Bella, I hope you get a guitar for Christmas! That would be so fun. I've wanted to play guitar for a while now, but I fear I shouldn't endeavor on taking up a new instrument right now.
Happy holidays, all! God bless!

Please note that our Christmas Countdown threads will be closing on Monday, January 9...but never fear! We look forward to having them again next December.
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
