Science fiction is intense...the furthest I've ever got with it was 'The Chrysalids' by John Gresham -and that was prescribed reading for school. But it was really interesting, and involved telepathy, which was pretty darn cool. Otherwise I'm a (normal) fictional social commentary kind of person
I've recently picked up Utopia, by Thomas More. I didn't realise the language would be so ancient, but it's rather fun to decipher. I'm only a few pages in to the actual story, I got caught up reading More's biography and letters -which are fascinating, by the way. Anyone else read it?

I'm reading a play about Thomas More: A Man For All Seasons. Great play so far. He was really a remarkable man, and a secular take on his life is super-interesting.
Utopia...I might try to find that one. Should be interesting if I do!

so cool Libby! If it's really a first edition, it's probably worth something! Not that I'd ever sell it
yeah, it was a really cool and rare find! I would never sell it! I can't believe that it's in such good condition!

Made a trip to the bookstore today to pick up A Conspiracy of Kings (YAY!), Lord Sunday, and The Chestnut King. It was a good trip.
Ooh! Lord Sunday is out now? MUST. GET. ASAP!
And A Conspiracy of Kings, though I think I should re-read the others first. I just bought The King of Attolia a little while ago. Though I'm waiting for the paperback of CoK to come out before I buy it.
P.S."Brooklyn!"

Oh the joy of going to the library to check out those tried and true classics named Nancy Drew. I will forever have memories of the smell of old books with faded covers. Alright. Now for my favorite books. I like The Christy Miller Stories. The Castaways of the Flying Dutchman series are cool but kind of odd....

Brian Jacques, the author of the Redwall series.
When I was younger I was crazy about the Flying Dutchman books...my favorite was the first, the others got too confusing and random for me I really should reread them again!
Right now I'm loving Shel Silverstein's poetry. They're meant for children but I think if I'd read them when I was a lot younger I would have been a bit frightened, some of them are kind of gruesome.

My favorite Castaways book was the second one. The third was the odd one. I wonder if he will write any more of them. I hope so!

Liberty, I was never a fan of Redwall at all, but I enjoyed the Castaways books. They're not really anything alike.

I used to like the Redwall books a lot, and I've read all of them, but they've started to get kind of repetitive. I tried to reread them, but other than a few favorites I don't really like them anymore.
I've read the first two Castaways books, and I thought they were okay.
I have read lots of anthony howartz books latley. Anyoen heard of him?. he rights books for childern and teenagers. Also ahs avery plain taste in character names(eg bob, tom, henery).
