I'm from California, so of course the biggest city is LA. The population is 3,833,995 --
And apparently the smallest is harmony, population 18 --
What a difference!

Los Angeles has a smaller population than Sydney? Wow. Why does it get some much attention in movies and TV? Is it because Hollywood is nearby?
Cool truck!

Exactly. It's all Hollywood. They control TV, so they give their own city all the attention, haha.
But then, that's only the population of L.A. the city. Not L.A. the county. There's a HUGE difference.

Welcome by the way Jiang Mei!
Biggest city: Manila
Smallest city: San Juan (I can't find an image of it but here is a place in San Juan)

Eustace+Jill, thanks mate. I imagined it to be something similar. Sydney is a city, LA is a city? What's the definition of a 'county'?
Sandy, interesting. Could you include details about the populations of those cities? Thanks

Counties are US government units that are smaller than a state (equivalent to a province) but larger than a city. According to wikipedia, the name comes from Europe, where a county originally represented the land ruled by a count. More details here. The county seat is the town actually containing the county government. Incidentally, in Louisiana the equivalent government units are called parishes instead, a reflection of the French influence.
LA County is the most populous in the US, with about 9.9 million people.
US demographers also distinguish between cities proper and metro areas (which include suburbs and exurbs). For example, New York City proper has about 8.4 million people while its metro area has 19.1 million (check out a table of US metro areas here).
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
A town with 6 people? How is that even possible?!
I live in the largest city in Florida, Jacksonville, because it rocks like that. It is the largest city in land area in the United States, thirteenth most populous in the US, according to Wikipedia. In this case, Jacksonville for all purposes IS Duval County. It's quite spread out and downtown isn't near so cool as the other thirteen most populous cities, but it makes up for it in bridges. I love love love Jacksonville's bridges, notably the Dames Point, the Main Street, and the Buckman, which I take to work every day. We are also home to the Jacksonville Jaguars, who have stunk quite badly in the 15 years they've been a team. We love them anyway.
The smallest town is less than 300: Plantation Island in the Everglades. Who would ever want to live in the Everglades :S It's got to be so hot and muggy.
