Hello! This is a sort of variation of a topic I saw on another forum. So, here's how it works. You can come in here and name the biggest city in your state and the smallest city in your state. For those of you that are outside the US you can name the biggest and smallest cities in you province(or whatever it is that you would call it . . . I'm not entirely sure XD), and their populations. And please add pictures if possible! I'll start.
CHINA:
BEIJING (pop. 22,000,000):
A'ERSHAN SHI or ARXAN (pop. 56,000):
An interesting topic idea. By the way, welcome to Narnia Web, Jiang Mei!
I hail from North Carolina. According to this website the smallest city in my state is the village of Alamance, with a population of 310 people. Apparently there was a pre-Revolutionary War battle fought there.
The largest city in NC is Charlotte, with a population of 541,000. It's just under an hour south of where I live and is a maze of one way streets and crazy drivers.
The Bank of America Building is the tallest in the "Queen City", as they call it. The top was designed to look like a crown and sometimes they'll light it up blue when the Carolina Panthers NFL team is playing a home game in town.

Biggest city in my province (Ontario) would be Toronto...
Population 2,503,281
Smallest town....
According to wiki, Kearney is the smallest Ontario town at a population of 798!

Hmm... wiki can't be quite right as the town I live in has 700 people, and there are some much smaller towns in Ontario around here...

Fascinating topic!
The largest city here in Minnesota is Minneapolis (population about 387,000). With St Paul and suburbs, the metro area population is about 3.5 million.
Here's Target Field, under construction, with part of the Minneapolis skyline in the background:
Northwest Minnesota contains what might be the state's (and according to wikipedia, the nation's) smallest town:

I'm from Russia . The biggest city is Moscow, population 10,563,038
I just found out that the smallest city is Chekalin. I have no idea what the population is, but it's pretty small. On the picture in the best street in town!

I'm from England, and just to be contrary, the biggest city is London, and the smallest is...London
The population is 7,556,900, although I believe if you count all the urban areas surrounding it it's more like 12-14 million.
But at the centre is the City of London, and the original boundaries of the city set down in the middle ages actually remain more or less unchanged (it's roughly a square mile) -
It's the business centre of the capital and as such, although it's very built up and busy the residential population is only 8000.
The City has it's own mayor, separate from the mayor of London, and yet they're both London. Hmm!
I am going by smallest city, not town though. The smallest town according to Wikipedia is Yarmouth, on the Isle of Wight.
There is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in.
Very nice pictures, everyone!

'Tis true. I've been to Morson, in the far southwest corner of Ontario near Lake of the Woods (where Ontario, Manitoba, and Minnesota meet). That site lists its population as around 200.

I live in Japan. The largest city is Tokyo, with a population of 8,717,529. It also happens to be the most densely populated city in the world.
I'm not sure how to find the smallest city, because Wikipedia is listing the smallest city at 44,000 people. The smallest town is apparently a place called Hayakawa, and it has a population of 1,592.

You live in Japan? That's cool, a bit crowded for my liking but it was a great place to visit. Are you sure there aren't more people in Tokyo? I'm sure I've heard something more along the lines of there being 30 million people (but maybe that includes the suburbs).

Largest city: Anchorage - 260,283 as of the 2000 census
I have no idea what the smallest town is (other than very small ), and I don't know what the smallest official city is, but my city had 4,283 people as of the 2000 census.
EDIT: Found the smallest city. Everything I can find points to the town of Chicken, with 17 year-round inhabitants, according to their homepage.
