lilsis_lucy, your sketches are amazing! I think the cougar might be my favorite, the shading is positively brilliant.

This is a quick sketch I made a few months ago (at Midnight, when I do almost all my sketch work :p), and then beside that is one of my watercolors.

I like the bird too, Narnian_Badger. I'm no good with watercolours, I can't fight the urge the urge to cover the paper with paint like I would with oils

I finished the fox project, I actually wound up switching to oils a week before they were due in and I'm glad I did. They were much more suited to the size I was working at and mean I could be looser with the paint :) Here's a couple of the final paintings after being scanned in and stuck back together -

For some of them I painted out some text, scanned it in and put it on top. This took far longer than I anticipated and was really fiddly, irritating work. But everyone seemed to like it =))

There is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in.

Shantih, I really like how you've portrayed the foxes, and am totally not surprised others did. :D As I mentioned elsewhere, they remind me very much of the Black Rabbit of Inlé from Watership Down. Lovely job!

Shantih I really love the last one you did. The background colors really reminds me of a live forest and the foxes in all your drawings are cool looking ;) Keep up the fantastic work Shantih!

I read through the thread, lots of great work 🙂 I especially like CSLewisNarnia's "Up" balloon, that must be fun to have floating around. 😀

Here are a couple of Space Trilogy pieces I've done, the first is a clay slab depicting a scene from Perelandra which I made in a Ceramics class at Asbury College:

And the second is a Photoshop manipulation/painting of this scene from That Hideous Strength 🙂

The slow journey through the fog almost sent her to sleep. She hardly thought about St. Anne's until she found herself there.... She was roused from this state by noticing that it was lighter. She looked ahead: surely that bend in the road was more visible than it ought to be in such a fog? Or was it only that a country fog was different from a town one? Certainly what had been gray was becoming white, almost dazzlingly white. A few yards further and luminous blue was showing overheard and trees cast shadows (she had not seen a shadow for days), and then all of a sudden the enormous spaces of the sky had become visible and the pale golden sun, and looking back, as she took the turn to the Manor, Jane saw that she was standing on the shore of a little green sun-lit island looking down on a sea of white fog, furrowed and ridged yet level on the whole, which spread as far as she could see. There were other islands too. That dark one on the west was the wooded hills above Sandown where she had picnicked with the Dennistons; and the far bigger and brighter one to the north was the many caverned hills - mountains one could nearly call them - in which the Wynd had its source. She took a deep breath. It was the size of this world above the fog which impressed her. Down in Edgestow all these days one had lived, even when out-of-doors, as if in a room, for only objects close at hand were visible. She felt she had come near to forgetting how big the sky is, how remote the horizon.

I really like the clay piece, nDroae. The sky is especially eye catching, it really draws you into the composition. Excellent work

I've been meaning for years to recreate one of the props from my favorite film, The Science of Sleep. Now it's summer I finally had the time :) Here's the original -

I had to change a few things, in particular the original clearly has some sort of frame inside but I wanted mine to be just a plushie. Finding the same fabric also proved impossible, but I found some that was very similar and had the same texture.

The result -

This is the first time I've tried to sew something, but luckily the stitches are meant to be quite naive and crude so this didn't matter too much ;))

The clay piece is absolutely beautiful, nDroae! The photoshop picture is also very impressive!

I think you've done a very nice job, Shantih, esp. for this being your first time sewing. Of course, this is coming from someone who's never sewed anything, so you can take my compliments for what they are. ;)

I recently found a painting online (artist unknown) which I really liked and decided I'd sort of reinterpret it to put in our kitchen.

Here is my interpretation:

Here is a shot of mine next to the original.

The original is much better, in my opinion, but I tried my best. ;))

Hi! I didn't know where else to post this so here goes. :)

I have to draw a self portrait for a drawing class I am taking. It will be graded on composition. I am planning on integrating Narnia in an interesting way somehow into my picture I'm using a stonehenge paper about 18" by 24".

One idea I was thinking of is to switch Narnia images from 2-D images on my shirt to three-D looking. Like Narnia is coming Alive. I also was thinking of including me reading one of the Narnia books.

So do you guys have any ideas of what I should draw?

Thanks!

What about the lamp-post or the stable hill, ~renaelaughs~? Though probably you have done something already :) .

narnialover101: nice work! Nice calm colours :) .

Cute horse, Shantih! Good work with the fox and birds.

nDroae: good work with the clay thing! I really like the sun.

Here's a couple of paintings I have done lately:

Mehinen those paintings are awesome, I especially loved the third one

IloveFauns I loved your too, especially the second one

ok I've finally forced myself to post here (with some help from my sisters)
I'm a very amature artist and terrible shy about my pictures, but I know I need critisizm and since my art teacher it out of town till September I thought I'd post here. My pictures are very simple and there's not much to them but I still thought I'd share them
Here's one of my pictures (sorry for the bad quality)
(the girl is my sister, she actually on NW, some of you may know here, her username is De_De)

I like how the two paintings are the almost the same, but they have different moods to them, NL101. I think you did a great job! I'm not sure I'd put either one in my kitchen... it seems more like something I'd put in a nursery or bedroom.

I like the second of the landscapes, Mehinen. Are they actual places or did you make them up?

It looks like you have a nice drawing there, wild rose. From what I can see, you have a good sense of proportion, and really nice detailing. :) I think the question/criticism I have is what are you illustrating? Is it a city scene, or is it more focused on your sister? If it's about your sister making the shot with the basketball, you might consider drawing it from a few different angles to make it more dramatic, giving it more of a sense of action. You might also want to zoom in on your sister.

Yesterday, I drew a wolf. For a while, it was a purple wolf when a shadow went horribly wrong. :p But I think he came out fairly nicely in the end, especially considering that I didn't look at a reference picture until I was about halfway done with him. The background is still rough...

What about the lamp-post or the stable hill, ~renaelaughs~? Though probably you have done something already :) .

Hi, I like the stable hill idea, I ended up just drawing me in the foreground reading the book, and in the background Aslan roaring and a horse with it's head over my shoulder.

Here is the link to me and the picture: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak- ... 8771_n.jpg

I hope it works.

Thanks for helping! (even though it was too late)
