How did you see the special, Gwendolen and Ransom? Is it online already? I'm eagerly anticipating the US premiere in T minus 1 hour and 30 mikes. :D

I so can't wait. I heard a spoiler for the very end and Timothy Dalton's character, and if it's true, this sounds big! :)

Soon, very soon. :)

Gotta go now. Get ready to see it. :)

I bid you all adieu.

That has to be the single most awesome special they've run yet. It's like they're trying to make up for the meh quality of the previous ones by heaping on the awesome. ;))

Spoiler
I don't believe for a second that Donna will die. However, if she does, I will really be angry, considering how many times Rose was imperiled and they just got her out of it by turning her into a goddess or something.

The Master was fantastic. If they had to bring back an old villain, I'm glad it was him. The fact that the big epic peril facing humanity is the Master doing something goofy like turning everyone into clones of him amused me. It's a nice switch from stuff like machines to blow the universe up.

I can't believe the Time Lords are all evil. If the Doctor had to destroy them for a second time, I don't see how the next Doctor could possibly be happy. Ten took a turn to the Dark Side just over what happened to Donna after all.

I'm a bit bummed to find out that Australia has to wait for the Doctor Who special 'End of Time', even though, outside the UK, we've had the biggest Doctor Who fan-base since it's conception in the early 60's. I guess I'll just have to be patient.

I saw The End of Time last night. It was a little bewildering at first, because it seemed so terribly random. But Tennant and Simm were both at their best. I'll have to see the next part to judge whether or not I approve of this "finale."

Spoiler
I'm always in favor of bringing back the older mythology, but evil time lords? If you doubt this, see the 2-minute clip that BBC released, which declares either "evil" or at least "cruelly dictatorial." And they passed up a chance to re-introduce the Rani! I wanted to see Gallifrey return, but not like this. It doesn't have the emotional weight that could have been generated. And the re-introduction of past companions is one of Davies's weaknesses. Take a Davies episode by itself and it's normally not bad, but his idea of a good story is to add elements to an equation to make it "bigger" without letting the strength of the story itself carry it onward. Moffat will be a nice change.

Still, there were some hilarious lines, "she's a cactus" probably topping them all.

Hope you enjoy watching the show with your dad, TheGeneral! :)

I just wanted to come in and thank you all for your fairly diligent use of spoiler boxes. I haven't seen either The Waters of Mars or The End of Time, so I really appreciate being relatively unspoiled. Keep at it, please! :D And remember---when in doubt, better safe than sorry with spoiler boxes. ;)

And have any of you ever heard any Who audio dramas? I've never heard any, but my mom found half a dozen or so on cd at a used book store, so she picked them up. They feature the voice talents of the 'real Doctors' and some 'real' companions, so hopefully they'll be fun. :D

Valia, I've heard two of them. One with David Tennant and one with the lady who plays Donna. I love both of them! Both are a bit odd at first, but they get each other's accents and style of speaking down pat so it is hilarious.

BBC America is doing a Doctor Who marathon today and tomorrow leading up to the End of Time pt 2.

I will comment on The End of Time as a whole once I see the second half. :)

I watched it and loved it!!!!! :D It was sad though for obvious reasons. :((
I'll miss David Tennant. :( And John Simm(the master) was great as well as the rest of the cast.

Can't wait until Spring for the series to return with Matt Smith.

This has absolutely nothing to do with the current DW series, but I had to share this anecdote with someone else who would understand.

I am a big space fan and so have lots of space books. In particular is a large one with a black cover and "SPACE" printed across the front in silver letters. There are some excellent pictures in there and it does a great job of explaining various theories and phenomenon. As I walked through my classroom encouraging my students to behave, I happened to glance down at one of this book's picture. And there, floating between two black holes sits a floating blue phone booth looking very much like the Tartus. Doing my best, I stifled the giggles and walked on. But I was happy to know that some book-writing astronomer out there still took pleasure in watching Dr. Who and practical jokes. :D

That's cool. The name of the phone-booth transportation is actually the 'Tardis', not 'Tartus'.

Earel, I'm training to be a teacher. Are you a primary (elementary), middle or high school teacher?

I'm not sure the new Doctor is right for the job but I hope I'm wrong (he seems to young to me). But the trailer was encouraging.
