Starkat, it's actually on youtube now. You may want to go watch it before it gets taken down.

I did go watch it. Some things changed at home with mom and dad having to juggle some things so we don't have the BBC America channel anymore. It bugs me to watch it on-line, but eh.

Spoiler
I think the Doctor's finally come to the end of the road. It definitely is a filler as it sets up his arrogance and shows that the pedestal he can be on is shaky. Should be interesting bringing back Donna, her grandfather, and the Master.

Putting everything in spoilers, just to be safe. ;))

Spoiler
I think the interesting part of this latest episode is that the Doctor plays god constantly, in almost every episode, and we're fine with it, because he's saving the day. This is the first time when we've really been confronted with an arrogant dark side to the way he meddles. I think it's starting to come out because there's no companion to keep him in check. He needs someone bossy like Donna to keep him in line or all of the sudden he's the Last Time Lord and what he says goes. Adelaide was right, nobody should be that powerful, it's dangerous.

So what does everyone think of the latest temporary companion we got? I definitely liked her better than whatshername from Planet of the Dead. That was definitely an episode I'd call a dud, companion-wise and story-wise.

Just saw a commercial (I have access to BBC America again.), Waters of Mars premiers in the U.S. on Dec. 19th.

Thought I'd bring this up as the U.S. premiere of The Waters of Mars was yesterday and we are only a week or so away from the remaining two special episodes. Apparently, the U.S. release for part 1 of The End of Time is next Saturday! Just a day or so after the U.K. premiere! I was surprised to see that since we had to wait a bit for the WoM.

I am so glad to see that after my long absence from this forum, that my wonderful thread to end all threads is still here. :D

starkat, what channel and time is DW: The End of Time going to be on here in the US? I hadn't heard that bit of good news yet. :D

I agree that the special was sub-par. I kind of agree that the Doctor was dangerous in his outlook, but not necessarily in his actions. If the future was not substantially changed, then what he did "was" permissible. At least that was Donna'a argument in the series four Rome episode.

I really, really, REALLY did not like Adelaide at all. She was arrogant, bossy, and her action made no sense to me.

Anywho, those are my thoughts. Nice talking to you all. :) God bless.

I bid you all adieu.

Hurrah! Let the thread -- er -- regenerate. :D

Yes, I have been anticipating "The End of Time, part 1" for many weeks now. It should be great fun to view it (if I can find it temporarily on YouTube or somewhere else) online, the day of its release. (That's how I got to see The Waters of Mars. Hey, I don't have cable. I don't even have network TV, because I never got the box!)

I'll look forward to discussing the action here, after the programme!

Hey all. I heard that the air dates are going to be December 26 and January 2, here in the states. I'm so looking forward to it. I think it's on actual Christmas and New Year's in the UK. I so can't wait. :) :D

Sorry about the delay in reply. It'll air on BBC America. Thanks for finding the dates. This should be an interesting set of specials.

I can't wait until it airs! But I'm going to miss David Tennant, I found him fantastic. Hope Matt Smith will make a good Doctor too.

Ditto- youtube is an American Dr. Who fan necessity.

I was out of the country when 'Water of Mars' aired but I watched it as soon as I got back (about a week ago). I think it's the best one they've aired this year, though I wouldn't rate it on par with 'Blink' or some of the other really stellar ones. Should be interesting to see if the writers and Matt go with a more embittered version of the Doctor now that he's sorta swinging that way.

Just viewed The End of Time, Part One.

Surely I'm not the only one who is affected to this extent by such a great story, to the point of actually saying something like this. (Read the below spoiler if and only if you have seen the new special The End of Time, Part One!)

Spoiler
Dear God, please please please don't let Donna die even though we last saw her actually remembering her experiences with the Doctor!

I'll have more to say soon!
