For those of you who are fans of jigsaw puzzles, Shockwave has a real doozy today. The pieces are completely blacked out until you put them together. So the entire puzzle is done by piece shape with no help from the picture. Thought you all might want to know if you care to give it a try....

And it's only available today, tomorrow it will be gone.

Thanks for the puzzle link, fk! I decided to kill some time (too much ) playing it and managed to finish it. It was quite fun, though the lack of 'board' space for me to spread pieces out on was kind of annoying. Also, I'm sure that some of those pieces didn't look anything like the voids they fit into.
Some days you battle yourself and other monsters. Some days you just make soup.
And Aravanna is correct! Even if it took over a month for the thread to be bumped for her to answer...
The blacked-out puzzle is interesting, as it reminds me of the time I decided to flip a standard, 100-piece puzzle over so that all I could see was the blank cardboard and tried to put the puzzle together that way.
Speaking of jigsaws, I remember seeing one jigsaw puzzle set at the school library that I can only describe as "sadistic":
- There were two sides to the puzzle, so to start you had to make sure the pieces were flipped the right way
- There were no edge pieces
- Among all the pieces were two pieces that did not fit anywhere
Needless to say, I didn't bother trying to solve it.

I am a bit of a fan of crosswords. Provided the answers are not all based on a topic, say current pop culture.
Never got into soduku, or suduku, (that numbers game).
I have made attempts at rubics cube, and failed miserably Though I have not peeled the colors, I did once dis-assemble, then re-assemble one in the right order. Given the level of difficulty I wonder if that would count I have heard of one poor fellow who became so frustrated with it he took it out to a target range, and shot it with his rifle.
I beleive riddles should count. I even have one..What kind of glass is both half empty, and half full?

A regular glass of water?
I tried Rubics Cubes and failed miserably too. Crosswords are fun, if it's on a subject I know. (which is rare. )
Puzzles look fun, but I haven't had much of a chance to play them. Maybe when I get some money, I can go out and buy a nice one.

Is it an hourglass, Puddleglum?
I was never good at the Rubik's cube myself either. I had a friend who had both a cube and a sphere version (though not together in one puzzle ), but I couldn't do either. It was a lot of fun to sit with and have a go anyway. I was never able to do the slide puzzles either, where you can't pick up the pieces- only slide them around to get an image (can't even do the easiest versions of that ).

Lion's Emblem. You are correct. Though I suppose one would say that Ithilwen was also correct. I should have thought of a more challenging one.
