We have officially decided to do a semi-comedic newscast.
Right now we are going to be in the process of scriptwriting: those signed up so far are wolfloversk, Bookwyrm, Ithilwen and I. I'll keep you updated!

MORE INFORMATION ON THIS PROJECT:
Since so many people here on Narnia Web seem to like acting- especially as a Narnia characters- I thought it would be fun if we tried to act across the web. We could make Narnia movies (like HHB, SC, MN or LB) or spoofs. We could do anything really- I know a lot of people on here like Lord of the Rings as well, so we could do something with that. Or we could even put our heads together and make our own fantasy movie!
Okay, right now some of you are probably thinking that I'm crazy. After all, how do you act across the web? Well, this is a brand new idea, and I'm sure there will be kinks to work out, but here is what I thought we could do:
THE PROCESS:
Step 1: Formulating a plot Lucy of Narnia, wolfloversk and Ithilwen
In this step, those who have signed on as 'plot formulaters' all get together and figure out what we are going to work on. Once we have decided on an idea, we move onto the scriptwriting step.
Step 2: Scriptwriting Lucy of Narnia, wolfloversk, Bookwyrm and Ithilwen
The script-writers work together to make the script using the idea that the plot formulators have come up with. Normally each script-writer has specific assignments that they work on solo, then they send their part of the script to the other scriptwriters for editing. Once everyone has finished their parts and the entire script has been approved, casting commences.
Step 3: Casting and AuditioningLucy of Narnia, DamselJillPole and Ithilwen (Bookwyrm for voice-acting casting)
Whoever has signed up to be a casting director helps decide who gets what role. Anyone interested can audition for a role.
Step 4: Choreographing greenleaf23
Choreographing is very simple. Choreographers take the script and decide what shots (head, full body, etc.) are needed for different parts of the movie. They are responsible for giving the cast members directions on how to film themselves.
Step 5: Filming
Once the actors/actresses get their script and their choreographing instructions, it is time for them to film. Once they have compiled the necessary footage, they will send it in (more on how to send in your footage later in this post) and the next step will commence.
Step 6: Post-Production wolfloversk, greenleaf23
Post-producers compile the actors/actresses footage to make the movie.
Step 7: Composing spots taken: 0 - we need at least one composer
The composer will be given the running time of the finished movie to compose to. When they are finished, they will send in their footage (information on how to send in footage later in this post).
Step 8: Premier wolfloversk has opened the host YouTube account
The movie will then premier on YouTube or a similar hosting service for all of the cast and crew to enjoy. Then it will be publicly released for the world to see.
HOW TO SIGN UP FOR A JOB (casting director, scriptwriter, post-producer, etc.)
Just get in touch with me via a PM if you are interested. If it is too late to have such a job during the current project I will add you to a 'futures' list so that you can have the chance to help out next time.
HOW TO SEND IN FOOTAGE (if you are an actor/actress or a composer)
Simply send a video response to our account on YouTube.
Please note: If you are a minor, please make sure that it is alright with your parents for you to be involved with this and for your face (if you choose to audition) to be shown on YouTube.

You suck a lollipop, and you sing a song. Get it right, Jo!
Step 1, 2, 6
If we did do it, it'd have to be an original script...as in original story...to prevent copywrite issues. maybe some sort of animated thing? That seems the easiest to me because it would just be voice parts...
"The mountains are calling and I must go, and I will work on while I can, studying incessantly." -John Muir
"Be cunning, and full of tricks, and your people will never be destroyed." -Richard Adams, Watership Down
Yeah, copyright issues...those could be a problem. Maybe we could make an original fantasy movie? Animated would be good. I was thinking that we could use blue/green screen and splice together the footage (as in, if you film girl #1 in California and girl #2 in New York and the are supposed to be walking together!)...course, that'd take someone real good with composite/CGI...and I'm not sure if you have to have special blue/green screens or if say, a green sheet or piece of fabric would do.
So, in the end, I have to agree with the animation idea, at least for the first several. I think we should start small too, like instead of a 2 hour movie, maybe fifteen minutes to a half hour. What do you think?
Also, as far as a story plot goes, it would be cool to use the idea of children going into another world...after all, not only Narnia uses that concept: many others like Wizard of Oz use it as well. Maybe we could make up some creatures for that world. We could cast maybe three of four children and then several creatures as well (such as fairies, elves, etc.). What does everybody else think? I'm open for suggestions.

How bout an animated short? Kinda like a cartoon? Those run about 15 minutes sometimes, that's the youtube video limit too, so 10-15 min I think would be a good idea...
EDIT Can there be flying wolves? and maybe dinosaurs?
"The mountains are calling and I must go, and I will work on while I can, studying incessantly." -John Muir
"Be cunning, and full of tricks, and your people will never be destroyed." -Richard Adams, Watership Down
Animated short? Hey, I just got an idea! Maybe we could mesh the two ideas- animated short w/ epic fantasy-ness! We could have a sort of cartoon serious where two boys and a girl (or vice versa) enter a "magic" (like Narnia) world with flying wolves and dinosaurs. That'd be cool! Aw, the wolf in your avatar is cute! And that'd make it very un-Narnia-ish so we don't look like copy-cats! How is that? Other characters could include talking cats and bears, fairies, elves (the short kind ), dragons, etc. Does that sound good?
BTW, I am more than happy to work on steps 1, 2 & 3 . So, worse comes to worse and nobody else joins us, we only really need to find someone to do the composing and animating.
Hey, who was it that made the Reepicheep song? I never did get to listen to it myself, but other people on NW liked it, and I wonder if he/she could help compose for our short!

I could maybe do some small scale animating, but it would probably take a loonnnggg time, We should see if anyone has an animation program and would be willing to help first. (I'd have to do it frame by frame as I don't have such a program...)

It might work. But one thing is for sure, if it's going to happen then count me in.
We tried something like this a couple months ago. A Narnia fan movie, but it didn't pan out. But something original might work. We'd have to be really strict about it though, because there will be people who will sign up and totally think they're going to do it; then suddenly they'll get really busy and keep putting it off. So we would need time limits.
Another thing we could do is a series. 15 minute episodes. If we wanted, we could even base them off of Role Plays such as Vayond, Brywahr, or the Overdom Wars.
~Riella
A series is a good idea, EJ, but I think our first one should be a stand alone... just to get a feel of the work and time that will be involved...
Maybe our main characters should go on a quest of some sort? Like in the Spoiler Wars, but something different and new.

I'm in a project that me and Rilians Queen are doing on youtube. It's called RamanduIslandpdts. You should look it up! I'm helpng her with the script back and forth on fanfiction and she has a team that knows great flash and anime pro. They are still casting voice overs, I'm dubbing Lilliandil at the moment.
I'm also in a phase of wanting to do a Sims 2 story with Narnian characters and will have online auditions on youtube for it as soon I figure some things out.
Edit:

Like Rilians Queen says in her signature, audition for her narnian videos!

A few ideas :
1) A few children/teenagers find theirselves in another land and must go on a quest to find something (golden egg maybe?)
2) A child/teen stumbles upon an injured fantastical animal in our world (maybe a flying horse or unicorn) and tries to help it.
3) We could do a semi-comedic newscast, that's actually I live action one we might be able to manage as you would not necessarily have to be in the same room to be in the same scene. Only problem is I'm not sure if the program I use could do what that requires, but I know there are others that do

Interesting idea. A LotR group I'm connected to is planning to do radio plays, so it's definitely a feasible idea.
I'd be willing to help with
Step 2: Scriptwriting
and
Step 3: Casting, though really only if it meant voice acting.
wolfloversk, ditto w/ me doing animation; it would be possible but would take forever, and I'm honestly not into that part of it. So hopefully we can find someone else! I do not have a good program either!
Riella, yay! I'm glad you're here! I agree that we need to be strict otherwise it'll be 2012 and still no movie.
I like the quesat idea, wolfloversk! Especially finding the animal in our world- maybe they could stumble into the other world trying to help it get home?
Yay! Another scriptwriter! The more the merrier...well, to a point. If we get 50 scriptwriters, now that could be challenging. But really, so far we have three- or four? Riella, did you want to help with that? I think the max scriptwriters be should have is five, so we don't get confused and/or have too many opinions. Do you agree? (I will mark how many of each step we have/still need so others can see what spots are still open. If I put a number that you think is too few/too many for that specific step, please let me know! I've never done anything like this before and am open to input!!)
Bookwyrm, I think we will be doing voice acting for at least the first several, so welcome to the casting crew!
DamselJillPole, would you and Rillians Queen like to help, or are you just showing us your work? After all, if you know an animation team, we could really use them! (BTW, I would very much like to audition and am trying to work things out on that ).
Also, everyone: the composer I was talking about has their thread here: http://forum.narniaweb.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=2570
Hopeful for this project!
Lucy, (the producer?)
*EDIT* I voted for the news cast: I think it would be good to get to film live action and not have to worry about animation for right now. Maybe it could be a Narnia comedy news cast? Is there a problem w/ something like that being copyrighted? People do stuff like that all the time on YouTube- of course, maybe they do it illegally...does anybody know? Because, if that's legal, I think that would be funny!! An appropriate, us being on Narnia Web and all!

I actually have an idea for my narnian sims but I wont say anything unless I know for sure if I can be able to do it or not.
I'd love to do a dub, mainly Susan's.
Here is a dub I did almost a month ago:

I voted the news cast because it will give us an idea of the feel for it, and because if we ever do want to do a series like EJ said, we could use the other ideas for that or a longer movie...
BTW I wouldn't mind doing a voice part, or a minimal live action scene (I only have a webcam available so I couldn't move much... (I'm a girl btw)
Over break (if I have time) I might do a few test animations or a background animation to see what I can get done in what amount of time for future reference... this will likely be with water and horse movement, maybe other animals as well.
Btw, we'll probably need sound effects... so if someone wants to work on that it'd be great.
EDIT!
Should we make a seperate youtube account for this? If so what should our username be? And what settings should we make it under...etc.

"Be cunning, and full of tricks, and your people will never be destroyed." -Richard Adams, Watership Down
DamselJillPole, I am glad you are interested in dubbing!!
wolfloversk, other than us we have to make sure that Riella and Bookwyrm agree, and if they do we can shoot ahead on that idea. Also, I assume that DamselJillPole would be fine with that as she wants to dub Susan's voice. So it looks like we may have an idea!
I am glad that you are going to try the animations! And that you are willing to do a part (webcam should be okay as in interviews you pretty much only see the face anyway, at least for most people ). Sound effects are another thing- oops, I hadn't thought of that! Of course if we do the newscast first, that's something we won't have to worry about unless we do some animation on another project.
Yes, we should make a separate account...hmm, as far as a username, we could either vote or just go with simplicity and make it A.A.W. or Acting Across the Web. Or we could name it something with NW in it like Narnia Webber's Movies or something. As far as settings...well, we should make all of our works in progress (like voice dubbing, etc.) private. Then we can make the actual movie private until we get to premier it; then it will go public (that's possibly on YouTube, right?). Are you interested in being the host for this? If so, once you make it you could just PM me and others involved with this the login-username and password...maybe we could even make a new email just for this, if you are not comfortable using yours for this public account (BTW, if you do not want to do this don't worry about it; this is just for if you want to be the host. )
I think this will be fun!!
Lu
*edit*
Okay, it is official! We will do the newscast! wolfloversk, Riella and I all agree, and as we are the three 'plot-formulaters' it is official! Now we can move on to step two...are you ready, wolfloversk and Bookwyrm? It's the three of us for this part (if anyone else would like to join in, feel free as long as you have already posted on this page. If not, and you want to be involved in script-writing, PM me; that will make things simpler by insuring that we do not have lots of people joining in when we are half-way through or something...
