I hope it's okay for me to open this... I didn't see one, so I thought I'd open one...
This is a thread dedicated to reminiscing on 2011 and on anticipating 2012.
For many Narniawebbers, the New Year has begun -- so here's to them and to us who are awaiting 2012 -- Happy New Year!!
To get a conversation of sorts:
1. What was the absolute best thing that occurred last year, 2011?
2. What was one thing you're sad about that happened last year?
3. What are some of your New Year's Resolutions?
4. What are you most anticipating in 2012?
Feel free to add anything on that....
My favourite New Year hymn, by Frances Havergal:
Another year is dawning, dear Father, let it be
In working or in waiting, another year with Thee.
Another year of progress, another year of praise,
Another year of proving Thy presence all the days.
Another year of mercies, of faithfulness and grace,
Another year of gladness in the shining of Thy face;
Another year of leaning upon Thy loving breast;
Another year of trusting, of quiet, happy rest.
Another year of service, of witness for Thy love,
Another year of training for holier work above.
Another year is dawning, dear Father, let it be
On earth, or else in Heaven, another year for Thee.

I love holiday threads
1. What was the absolute best thing that occurred last year, 2011? Finding out that they're at least thinking of making a new Jurassic Park again. (Maybe it'll be out before JPIII turns twenty )
2. What was one thing you're sad about that happened last year? So much chaotic weather! My hometown/area got hit hard by the remnants of Irene, but we have recovered nicely I'd say. It was sad seeing all the disasters across the world though.
3. What are some of your New Year's Resolutions? Becoming less of a procrastinator and eating more veggies
4. What are you most anticipating in 2012? Whatever adventures await (Maybe I'll see a lagomorph!)

"Be cunning, and full of tricks, and your people will never be destroyed." -Richard Adams, Watership Down
1. What was the absolute best thing that occurred last year, 2011?
-Moving to college in January. Before the month was out, I met a guy at my cousin's house but I thought nothing of it for several months. We were both involved in InterVarsity and I got to know him and we started rock climbing together quite a bit during fall semester. We started dating in early November.
-Also, going on a three week mission trip to Quito, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands.
-Attending InterVarsity's Fall Conference in October.
-All the awesome rock climbing I got to do including at the gym and two awesome climbs on real rock.
-Finally declaring my major.
-Playing keyboard for various InterVarsity events throughout this Fall Semester.
2. What was one thing you're sad about that happened last year?
Umm, I can't think of anything specific. My summer job was less than ideal but I don't regret it. It gave me experience and I made a choice and stuck with it.
3. What are some of your New Year's Resolutions? I don't make them.
4. What are you most anticipating in 2012?
Seeing my boyfriend. We both went to our homes for Christmas break so the one thing I'm anticipating is seeing him when I fly back on the 18th. Also, I'm hoping I get an internship I'm applying for which means I'll be in Colorado for 10.5 weeks this summer if it works out.
Happy New Years to NarniaWeb from my neck of the woods

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!
1. What was the absolute best thing that occurred last year, 2011?
Ooh. So many great things happened this past year, but I'd have to say going to Mexico for the first time on a missions trip was the best thing.
2. What was one thing you're sad about that happened last year?
On January 2nd, 2011 I had to say goodbye to my very dear grandmother and then on December 4th a dear lady at church who filled the role of grandma for me passed away suddenly.
3. What are some of your New Year's Resolutions?
Eat healthily, get back into my running schedule, and continually put aside time to read my Bible and pray.
4. What are you most anticipating in 2012?
Starting Driver's Ed this spring! And of course, the Hobbit!!

Happy New Year everyone
Bella, that is a beautiful hymn, I think it's going to be one of my favorite now too
1. What was the absolute best thing that occurred last year, 2011?
A lot of things happened that I really enjoyed, I think the very best though would be that I finished school , also that I decided what my life's goal is going to be and began taking the steps I need to complete that goal
2. What was one thing you're sad about that happened last year?
Well I wasn't so happy that I had to go and study graphic designing, it's still a bit of a trial for me but I'm learning to accept it
3. What are some of your New Year's Resolutions?
Be more responsible would probably be on my number one list spend more time with my younger sisters, learn to pull out of myself and communicate with others
4. What are you most anticipating in 2012?
the end of the world......just kidding I'm not really sure what to anticipate, as I'm not really sure what this year will hold for me
Oh well, there's the birth of my second niece or nephew, she/he should appear sometime in early August, I am REALLY anticipating that
always be humble and kind
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
2011 was definitely the best year of my life, by far, and I'm excited to continue living on!
1. What was the absolute best thing that occurred last year, 2011? The best thing last year was also the best thing that will ever happen to me, and that's being saved by Christ. Everything else great that happened to me in 2011 are clearly blessings from God, such as starting to play music and meeting my girlfriend. It's been amazing!
2. What was one thing you're sad about that happened last year? I think any time I followed my own selfish ambitions, or didn't wait for God's timing. Usually when that happens I end up hurting myself and the people I'm closest to.
3. What are some of your New Year's Resolutions? I'm giving up caffienated drinks, and even soda that doesn't have caffiene. My girlfriend and I are going to read through the Bible together this year.
4. What are you most anticipating in 2012? Going off to college! I don't know yet where I'll be going, what I'll be majoring in, if I'm going to have a long-distance relationship in college. It's really scary, but I'm trying to put my faith in the Lord to guide my steps.
5.9.2011 the day Christ saved me!
Thank you Lady Faith for the sig!
1. What was the absolute best thing that occurred last year, 2011?
My eighteenth birthday. Not so much the day as TURNING 18. It was awesomeness.
2. What was one thing you're sad about that happened last year?
Um...not sad really but going through rough stuff before Christmas...some of which I'm still going through. Ah well.
3. What are some of your New Year's Resolutions?
I want to focus more on the things I love doing: acting, writing, drawing and maybe even singing, ice skating and dance, things I've never considered much. Especially dance- that ons new for me. Oh and photography. We'll see. And, besides that stuff, I want to get in better shape, building my stamina and toning. And I should probably eat healthier too...
4. What are you most anticipating in 2012?
Hm....continuing what I'm doing right now, I guess, hanging with friends. And The Hobbit Part 1 coming out will be cool, thought it's so far away right now. And MAYBE (kinda doubt it) going to the SAICFF. And going on vacation to the beach and family, which we didn't do last year. Oh, and there's these Civil War dances that I want to go to, that we miiiight do if we can get some clothes together fast enough. *dies* I've wanted to dance for awhile now...that kind, anyway. (The other kind of dance I was talking about was more of a fitness thing)

Happy New Year!
1. What was the absolute best thing that occurred last year, 2011?
NarniaWeb!!!!!!!!!!! (specifically becoming a mod, attending the Mod Moot, and getting together with NarniaWebbers three other times)
2. What was one thing you're sad about that happened last year?
I'm sad that I didn't get a teaching job.
3. What are some of your New Year's Resolutions?
To try to focus on the good and not the bad.
4. What are you most anticipating in 2012?
Getting together more with NarniaWebbers. (The Hobbit is a close second)
Takes the liberty of adding questions.
5. What did you do to celebrate New Year's Eve / New Year's Day?
I went to lunch with another NarniaWebber. The lady at the next table paid for our meal. The waiter just came up to use and told us she had done that. After I got home, my family watched Fireproof, an Ironside episode, and played Sorry. At midnight we had sparkling cider and then went to bed.
6. What do you hope will happen in 2012?
I hope I get a teaching job.

It's been so fun to read through this post!!
Isn't it lovely, Wrose? I'm glad you liked it!
What was the absolute best thing that occurred last year, 2011?
Many things.
Many of my prayers were answered about my family. My sister and I grew closer. My mom and I grew closer and understood each other more.
I got to meet two very dear Nweb friends in the summer; we never thought our meeting would be so soon. It was just wonderful.
A friend and I grew closer to each other.
What was one thing you're sad about that happened last year?
Can't think of anything specifically. One is that my grandmother died, but we were glad she's in Heaven.
There were various things in our family, too, but I guess "all things work together for the good of those who love God."
What are some of your New Year's Resolutions?
Hahaha... I wrote them down on a paper so I didn't forget.
--Working on my relationship with God.
--Lose weight, eat healthy, sleep regularly.
--Progress more in knitting and crocheting. (learn cables, learn entrelac, master the Granny Square)
--Get better in piano, sight-reading and hand strength.
--Finish one book, one story. *has never done this*
I had one more but I forgot.
What are you most anticipating in 2012?
The Hobbit! David Crowder Band's last album coming out in 9 days, I think. That's all I can think of right now. Possibly getting to meet Nwebbers. .
Anticipating, but not sure how I'll react to this, my sister's graduation. I'm going to miss her. ;(
*answers PP's questions* Ooh, you had a sparkling somethin' too! *loves that stuff*
What did you do to celebrate New Year's Eve / New Year's Day?
Adapting from some friends, my sister thought we should all dress up, and my mom added that we'd have some nice food. So we dressed up. (I complained the loudest on this. :"}) We prepared the food beforehand, but we decided to use just what we had at home instead of buying things to make recipes. So my mom concocted some recipes, we made them, then we ate with a glass of sparkling grape juice (which I got extra of... ).
6. What do you hope will happen in 2012?
For myself, that I'll get a sort of direction what I want to study, I suppose. I hope my resolutions actually flesh out.

1. What was the absolute best thing that occurred last year, 2011?
My niece's wedding - a happy occasion.
2. What was one thing you're sad about that happened last year?
My city was very badly damaged by earthquakes in 2011 and they are continuing. Our lives are all changed.
Two of my favourite female writers also passed away.
3. What are some of your New Year's Resolutions?
I want to prepare now for things I would like to do in a year or so.
4. What are you most anticipating in 2012?
Getting out of the energy slump that the stress of last year caused, being much more on top of things. Oh, and The Hobbit!
Sorry, sounds a bit boring - but looking forward to a year of good outcomes.
There, shining in the sunrise, larger than they had seen him before, shaking his mane (for it had apparently grown again) stood Aslan himself.
"...when a willing victim who had committed no treachery was killed in a traitor's stead, the Table would crack and Death itself would start working backwards."
1. There is no way I can pinpoint one best thing from last year. I had several so I'll post them anyway. First best thing of 2011 was my book getting published. Responses so far have been phenomenal and my readers are highly anticipating the sequel that I am working on. The next best thing (chronologically) was graduation from UTEP (Texas at El Paso). UTEP's Computer Science department is one of the top in the nation and I got through it. The last thing carried into this year and came to fruition today. I got my driver's license. For me this is no ordinary thing. I'm autistic and less than 10 years ago, my parents said I was clearly not capable of driving safely. Now I can.
2. Sad thing from last year....tough one. But I had three. I had the worst teacher in my entire schooling experience for my senior project course. (NOBODY liked him in a class of 45). The other thing was two funerals. My grandfather passed away this summer and the founder/director of the ministry my parents have worked for passed away 2 1/2 weeks ago. Both are in heaven.
3. Resolutions? I don't do resolutions. I wouldn't keep them if I tried.
4. For 2012. How do I start? I'm in the process of moving for just the 2nd time in my life. My parents are leaving said ministry above to be like Abraham. God told us to go and he didn't share many details. We have the property we are moving to but and know the long term general idea of what we are to do but little beyond that. The other thing I am most anticipating is getting a teaching contract. I am half way through my certification process, which I will finish this Spring, and will be teaching physics and math for middle school and high school.
That's the 'short-short' list.
Be watching for the release of my spiritual warfare novel under a new title: "Call to Arms" by OakTara Publishing. A sequel (title TBD) will shortly follow.
happy be-lated New Year ya'll!! hope you all have an awesome blessed year God bless and Long Live Aslan, the True King!
