[Closed] Any cast members Christian?

I don't know if this belongs here or in the Cast/Character section, but I'll put it here.

I was just curious to know if any of the Cast members in the Narnia movies are Christian. I'm sure most of them try to keep their personal lives private, but I was wondering since the movies have so many Christian themes...

I heard Georgie Henley is, but I'm not sure how accurate the source was.

I've read newspaper articles saying William Moseley is a Christian but it's between him and God whether he's actually a 'Christian' or a Christian.

The religion of some UK and Australian actors says 'Christian' (profile, resume, etc). But that's not a true indicator. Reason #1 is that we don't know their hearts. Reason #2 is that “Christian” means little, if nothing, in the UK. This is becoming true worldwide. In the UK, true Christians call themselves “Christ-followers” (discipleship) to distinguish themselves from “Christians” by birth, family, or church attendance / membership. In Haiti, “Christian” = living person. True Christians call themselves “believers.” I heard a missionary to Scotland explain all this last night during a world missions class. See my blog post “Scotland and the UK: Pray for Revival!” Please read it! And pray! http://220lily.wordpress.com/2010/08/12 ... r-revival/

I read an interview that Skandar Keynes says he is not a Christian and that Anna Popplewell says she is in between, I forgot what they call it. Technically she believes a few things and other times she has a hard time believing it.

I know of one actor in a smaller part who is a Christian.
As for the others, we do not know, and it is not our business to probe.

There, shining in the sunrise, larger than they had seen him before, shaking his mane (for it had apparently grown again) stood Aslan himself.

I understand coracle's concerns. But when people make their religion public, I think we have a right to share it. And we must honor their self-declaration, whatever their hearts. Because only God knows that.

Some Narnia cast and crew have made their religion public. Here's a partial list. (A name is listed when I've found a supporting link.) Remember what I said about the word 'Christian.' It doesn't mean in the UK and many other countries what we think.

Georgie Henley -- Christian

Douglas Gresham -- Christian (Roman Catholic)

Anna Popplewell -- Christian (Anglican)

But when people make their religion public, I think we have a right to share it.

I actually agree with you. But the issue that I have with these threads first and foremost is that it's amazing how fuzzy lines become between facts and twisted rumors when it comes to people's beliefs.
And after the initial question is answered, then the commentary begins with opinions ranging as far and wide as the cast member's beliefs.
So, now that 220 has posted an excellent post linking actor's stated beliefs, I'm going to go ahead and close this thread. 220ChrisTian, thanks so much for posting that. :)
