Well. . . as somebody who has never liked Skillet's music, I really wouldn't like it in the credits. This isn't because I dislike them, but because, as mentioned before, their music is too "hard." The Voyage of the Dawn Treader was described by Jack Lewis as "a very green and pearly story," and playing heavy rock music with a story so perfectly described by its author as peaceful, and adventurous, would be a horrid betrayal in my opinion.

^^ but even the music in the credits to LWW and PC wasn't exactly Narnia music.....not to say that I didn't like the songs, I like them very much!

^^but there's a difference between putting hard rock in a family-geared movie than pop. Pop is more generally accepted, for lack of a better word, and even pop would fit the movie better than metal. I agree with DiGoRyKiRkE. It just wouldn't fit the story, and would completely change the feel. I personally don't like the pop songs either but I would rather have them then metal, even though I do love Skillet. Trust me, it has nothing to do with the band. I wouldn't like it if they put a Relient K song in the movie either. :p

^^ but they already used a rock band in PC: Switchfoot! so what's wrong with using Skillet?

Switchfoot's "This is Home" song sounded much more "poppish" then anything that I've ever heard by Skillet. They also didn't play the whole song in with the film, only a shortened version (which was quite changed from the one released with Switchfoot's album).

BTW, as a sidenote, if you want to continue talking about the differences between bands, this is not the place. Try heading over to the Spare Oom for those sorts of discussion. Try to keep this thread as focussed on the Narnian attributes of this song as possible.

Yes Switchfoot's song was way more pop than rock. And the credit version was shorter and calmer than the real version released on CD. Skillet is a metal band, and I have yet to hear them do a pop song. So it is a song applicable to Eustace's story, but the tune of the song and the style do not fit the feel of the Narnia books...

Hmm.. yeah. It does sound kind of like Eustace, although I never thought of it before. The lyrics for this song are kind of hard to make out when listening so I never paid close attention to them. Reading them though, I can see how it fits.

However, it should definitely NOT be in the movie, at all. *shudders* It wouldn't fit the movies at all.

So it is a song applicable to Eustace's story, but the tune of the song and the style do not fit the feel of the Narnia books...

I should have read your post closer. This is exactly what I wanted to say. :p

I really don't think Skillet would be called a metal band, but they've dabbled in pop, rock, heavy rock and electronica.

^^they have but they're pretty hard rock. It just wouldn't fit in a Narnia movie, but it's a good song.

Well, I don't know if they meant to have it fro EUstace but ti dose sound a lot like him. Someone had put this song to an Edmund fan made video and after a while, I listened and thought to myself "that would be great for EUstace!" or somethign along that line. It dose almost sound more liek EUstace than Edmund since Aslan had to peel off EUstace skin, but coudl be for Edmund because he is following hte witch and doesn't want to anymore in LWW.
