Well the dark Island would be absolutely terrifying (but I would probably be stalked by Tash...). I can think of several nightmares that I never want to see come true.

Deathwater Island freaks me out. Just the thought of wanting to dip into some water to refresh yourself and then you turn to gold for all eternity., that is if Aslan can fix you like he did when the Narnian's turned to stone. Still I shiver at the thought of it.

Probably the scariest scene for me is in the Last Battle, when Eustace sees, in the dim firelight, the Calormenes coming to fight the small, ragtag band of loyalists. The fire probably distorted their figures and cast eerie shadows...the spikes in the turbans must have looked demonic...(of course, Lewis never described it like that, but that's how it is for me)

For second, it'd be a tossup bewteen the Dark Island and the Death of Aslan

the second scariest part in Narnia for me is the Dark Island! I remember sitting there, 6 years old, reading that part and freaking out! yeah, pretty scary stuff

Scariest part in my opinion is definitely in The Last Battle when Tash comes. I've had many nightmares over the years about evil spirits, to the point where I'd wake up screaming, and that scene just brings back those memories.

The Dark Island, for sure. First the obliteration of sight by the dark mist, then an inhuman scream... The thought of someone as extremely terrified as Lord Rhoop pretty much does it for me. And Lucy's cry to Aslan - I think this was her most frightening time in Narnia, also.

Tash passing into Narnia comes second.

yeah that one is also scary too. I can't stand the darkness... woooo, creeeeepy.

I definitely agree about the Dark Island. Having personally had night terrors in the past, having your worst nightmares come true is a very terrifying thing.

Another scene that is not necessarily scary in the book, but would be in person is the arrival on the island of the duffelpuds. Sometimes your imagination can be the scariest thing, when you hear sounds and start imagining what could be making those sounds. The thump of the duffelpuds, but not knowing what they are and seeing the marks in the sand, a bit creepy. Same idea with inside the magician's house. Knowing he's invisible and could be lurking anywhere with the additional fear of thinking that he is a foe.

That's a good point, Lion's Emblem. It's bad enough when I know one of my sisters is hiding out of sight in the dark, waiting to jump out at me. How much worse it would be if it were a strange, invisible magician!

yeah Lion's Emblem, you're right. It is really scary... especially the marks of the foot.... wooooo.

I would say that the scene the is the scariest is when Tash appers inside the stable and eats Ahosta (I think that is how you spell it.) But the worst scene in any Narnian work ever made, is when Susan kisses Caspian. Why did they put that in the Movie!?!

Scariest scene for me was Tash's arrival. It was so vivid...I could feel the cold, and smell that sick smell...I had goosebumps, and I wanted to put the book down right there. Creepy.
A close second is the Dark Island scene, and the bit where Lucy walks down the Magician's Hall. Overall VoDT has the most gooseflesh-inducing moments, IMO.

ChristProclamer is right. VotDT has the most scariest ones. Imagine you going into the Dark Island, where you really can't see a thing and just use your hands to navigate your way. woo! that's the part where I really needed LIGHT. really! I had to turn on my side lamp to just calm my nerves from the scene that was happening in the Dark Island.

And it is Shift the monkey that Tash eats, though I would have liked him to eat Ahoshta.
