My sister recently learned of this upcoming picture book and I thought it might be of interest here. It appears it will only be available at first in the USA and Canada but hopefully other countries' bookstores start to carry it as well.

Oh, that looks kind of cool.
I'm guessing though it won't be the most super in-depth biography - for example, I would be keen to find out more about her work during WW2 as a draughtsperson at the Admiralty creating Hydrographic Charts - I've seen several biographies mention it in passing, but they've never gone into a tonne of great detail on it, and none have ever drawn too much of a connection to her later work as an illustrator and cartographer for Middle Earth and Narnia. Still, hopefully it gets at least a nod in this.
It looks very nice. I always wondered if there was a book about Pauline Baynes’ life. It would really be great if the book had large pictures of her drawings. A picture book for children seems like a fine idea. I hope many children and adults will read it. Hopefully, there will be more books about Pauline Baynes published in the future. 🙂
My sister is considering pre-ordering the book for her kids so if she does I will report back on what I think of it once I see it.
