I was looking at mythology definitions on dictionary.com and came across this:
6. fenris wolf
(n.)a wolflike monster, a son of Loki and Angerboda, chained by Gleipnir but destined to be released at Ragnarok to eat Odin and to be killed by Vidar.

I wonder if that is where Lewis got the idea for the name Fenris Ulf (the name for the Chief of the Witch's Secret Police in the American version).

I wonder if Lewis meant for Fenris Ulf to be THE Fenris Ulf, just like Father Christmas is THE Santa Claus and Bacchus is THE Bacchus?

I've always liked that Lewis portrayed Centaurs in a good light. Cause, in Greek mythology they're portrayed as wild, violent, and rather sour. :P

I found a related topic in the Narnia & Christianity thread examining why C. S. Lewis used mythology in Narnia, books for Christian audiences.

Here's a new question for everyone,

Have you ever imagined a mythological creature in Narnia that Lewis never mentions in the books?
