[Closed] Hardcover Book Editions.

Well I already have the whole narnia set in one big book but I was kind of hoping to get a set with all the books individually and with hardcovers. It's so much more fun to share a series of books than pull out a bible sized book :P Anyway, since this is for aesthetic reasons, the cover art is VERY important to me. There was one set that came out around the time of the first movie... awesome art... the thing was this set was only released in paperback so I never got it.

There was another set though that came out around the same time. I don't think they were released in a box but they were available in hardcover and had CS lewis signature across. I think they also called them "adult editions" or something. They had very realistic cover art. Like the Silver chair just had a snake and magicians Nephew had a green apple. Anyone know where I can find these books or what edition this was so I can find them? I've tried amazon and abebooks but they never show the picture of the book you're going to get and I wanna make sure it's the cover that I want. I don't really care for the set that came out in 94 (the one with the unicorn looking over its shoulder with blood dripping from it's horn).

Thanks :D Not really interested in any other hardcover release (there's a new one and it has down right ugly art... like a crying dragon on the Voyage of the Dawn Treader but it's really cartoony). If you can help out, I'd really appreciate it ^_^

I would recommend the recent "Celebration of the First Editions" that HarerCollins released. The only problem is that i'm not quite sure on their availability outside the UK, and i'm also not entirely sure they have released all 7 books in this format yet. However they would seem to fit the bill for what you are after - individual hardback versions with the classic original artwork from the first edition releases:

Here is the Lion The Witch And the Wardrobe on Amazon.com, which i have a feeling is the only one available in the USA at this moment in time:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/006171 ... d_i=507846

And then here is the Magicians Nephew, Horse and His Boy and Voyage of the Dawn Treader on the HarperCollins UK website - like i said, im not quite sure if they've done the rest yet, or if any of these three are available outside the UK yet:

icarus:
Would you happen to know if HarperCollins released the Celebration of the First Edition for both The Silver Chair and The Last Battle?

Cheers.
