So @Icarus made an Opinion post a few months back called “A Lioness? Why Aslan’s Mane Is Important To Narnia.”
Among the artworks supplementing this opinion piece were two gorgeous works, one under the subheading “Riding On Aslan’s Back” and one under the subheading “The Lion As King of Beasts.” The color, energy and brushwork of these pieces is jaw-dropping (to me).
Does anyone know the source of these two pieces? I think they’re just stunning, some of the best Narnia art I’ve ever seen. If it’s from a published edition of the Chronicles I must secure a copy 😊.
Where do I find old Opinion posts?

@varna They're under News on the main part of the website. Here's the link to the one from Icarus:

"Now you are a lioness," said Aslan. "And now all Narnia will be renewed."

I'm not sure whether I have seen the first picture before, so there isn't really anything I can say about it.
The second one, though, I remember from the first Walden movie. I think it's part of the concept art. I don't think it's been used as any kind of book illustration. Certainly not for The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, where it's from.

Isn't that first picture (Riding on Aslan's Back) concept art as well? It feels as if it has a similar tone to the other (King of Beasts), to my artistically uneducated eye. Possibly the same artist/group?
At first, I thought we were discussing the initial picture in the post, the LWW cover by David Wiesner, so I went and looked it up. (I've made a collage of all the different covers, though never posted here) Then I realized that I was mistaken . Oh well! no harm done.
Now my days are swifter than a post: they flee away ... my days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle
Thank you guys.
it sounds like there might be some “Art of…” behind the scenes movie book out there I need to find. Alternately @Icarus has a studio story-board hook up that may not be shareable 😊.
Seriously, those are beautiful pieces of art and I will keep digging to find the source. Thank you for your help.
