Also, I really do think black hair makes the most sense for the character, no offense to fans of Barbara Kellerman's or Tilda Swinton's White Witches. The combination of white skin, red lips and black hair is just classic.

No, I don't think so, when unless the actress is really blonde, the colour of her hair is often irrelevant, especially in photographs. I get the impression that in playing the White Witch, blonde hair would be an advantage, especially the way Tilda Swinton played the White Witch. Definitely frozen from tip to toe, just like she freezes erring Narnians into stone. Whereas Barbara Kellerman played a fierier version of Jadis.
