More Narnia Board Books!

The Adventurous Stranger Knight of NarniaWeb

There are two new Narnia Board Books coming from Joey Chou this summer! They're both available for pre-order right now on Amazon, though they havn't been officially announced by HarperCollins.

Step through the wardrobe and meet a wide variety of animals from C. S. Lewis’s beloved fantasy series in this Narnia animal adventure!

This board book is the perfect introduction to animals and the world of C. S. Lewis’s classic fantasy series, The Chronicles of Narnia, for the youngest readers. With simple text paired with bright illustrations by Joey Chou, this is a must-have board book for a child’s first library and the perfect baby shower gift for parents to be.

If HarperCollins is looking to expand Narnia as a brand, this is a much better way then say The Giant Surprise: A Narnia Story. Also, less risky than story adaptations like they did with LWW. I'm really looking forward to getting my hands of these books. Love Joey's style!

"Tollers, there is too little of what we really like in stories. I am afraid we shall have to try and write some ourselves." - C.S. Lewis

How sweet! I'm intrigued how they cutesify the other characters. I'm very tempted to get my new nephew one of these, or certainly the first LWW board book! Got to start him early on Narnia. 😁

I'm certainly happier with these than I was with the reduction of LWW to a board book — the illustrations are sweet and I especially love the one of Fledge! I don't have kids and it doesn't look now like I ever will, but if I did, I'd certainly consider getting these for them. (But would probably save the actual story of LWW until they were old enough to understand and appreciate the original novel. Wink

I'm mostly flattered because back when we were all discussing the board book on Narniaweb, I remember suggesting that it if they wanted to make Narnia board books, they shouldn't try to retell the stories but should just showcase various characters or places in the books. Was Joey Chou or someone at the publishing company reading what I wrote? What all of us were writing? LOL (Note: I might not have made that suggestion on Narniaweb. It may have been on some social media platform.)

For better or worse-for who knows what may unfold from a chrysalis?-hope was left behind.
