[Closed] The Sea Serpent

Since there hasn't been any new pictures lately I decided to draw something from the book. :)
I LOVE to draw creatures! :D So I decided to draw the scene with the Sea Serpent.
I'm annoyed with a few things, but overall I'm happy with it. :p
Comments and Criticism welcomed and Appreciated always! :D
Oh, and an impotent note:
My computer isn't working so I had to email the picture to my Ipod Touch, upload it and then use my sister's computer to post it here. So unfortunately the image is not as clear as I would like.
But as soon as I get my computer to work again, I'll upload a clearer version. Thanks! :)

Ooh, WOW! This is incredible! :-o
The Dawn Treader is beautiful. All of the little details are great, such as the railings and the "mask" on the dragon head. The sea serpent is really good as well, its face is amazing. My only CC is that its body seems a little fat, but that's just my opinion. This is an amazing, amazing drawing! Beautiful work. How long did it take?

Thank You very much LucyP0104! :D
I can see why you say the body is a little fat, I guess I could say he ate some fish. :p :p
I drew it here and there taking breaks in between. I think it took me about a day and a half all together, maybe two at the most. :p

Thank You AslanIsOnTheMove! :D I like drawing Sea Serpents with needle like teeth, like the Barracuda Fish, those have really scary teeth, so I like to copy theirs when I draw Sea Serpents only sharper. :)

I know I almost never post in this forum, but I just happened to see this and thought I should comment.
Wow! :-o I love the amount of detail you put into this drawing, especially with the ship and all those little scales. :D
My one small critique is that the sea serpent seems just a little too perfect---the width of the curve of the neck/body is just a tiny bit too uniform, I think. I'm not an artist and I don't know anything about sea serpent anatomy (then again, who does? ;))), but I thought that the neck should start out a little bit narrower and then broaden out a tiny bit as it turned into the body. But, like I said, that's small and I'm quite possibly wrong on it. ;))
Overall, I think it's a gorgeous drawing and you're quite right to be happy with it! :)

Thanks ValiantArcher! :D I agree, especially after looking at it harder I completely agree with you about the body, I should have started thinner at the neck, I will defiantly keep that in mind next time I draw a Sea Serpent :) .
Thanks for taking the time to look at it! :D

Wow!! *jaw drop* Incredible detail! The "Dawn Treader" is so real! It looks just like the real ship! I love the serpent's teeth too! There are so many, rather like a shark, but more like a snake in length. Wonderful!!

The picture is amazing. I think that the water is my favorite part of it, it looks magnificent, as does the rest of the background. The amount of detail is great, too. You must have had hard tome with all those scales and rigging! As for the sea serpent itself, I think that it doesn't look very three-dimensional. You could put a little bit of shading on the neck so that it looks round, and make the neck change width occasionally. For example, make the neck's arch a little less round and the more bent part a little thicker than the straighter part, and the "skin" could have some sort of folds/wrinkles in the more bent part (sorry, I don't know how to explain that ). Otherwise, that drawing is excellent. :D Oh, and I really like the serpent's eye!

@Lady Courage: Thank you very much! :D I'm glad you like the teeth it was one of my favorite parts to draw. Thanks for taking the time to look at it! :)

@Mehinen: Thanks! :D. I'm so glad to hear you like the water, that was by far the hardest thing for me to draw. :)
I'm trying to improve on drawing water, usually when I draw water it looks like lines, so it really makes me feel better to know you like it! :D
I completely agree with you about the Sea Serpent not being as three dimensional, when I was drawing it I felt it was a little flat looking (if that makes any sense.)
Don't worry I know what your saying about the wrinkles :) , If I get the time I'll see if I can add some folds/wrinkles, I like that idea a lot! :) Thanks so much for taking the time to really look at it, it means a lot to me! :D

Good gosh! This is ridiculously awesome and amazing and beautiful and...WOW!

Great work on this! I can just see the Dawn Treader sailing out of your picture. The shading is fantastic, which contributes to the realistic and beautiful quality of the picture. I particularly like the shining scales of the sea serpent. And the waves! They are just so WET!

As for CC, I'd echo others in saying that the curve of the Sea Serpent seems a bit too uniform. Also, though this sounds strange, the Serpent could be dirtier. I remember the book saying that the serpent had all sorts of algae and gunk on him from swimming beneath the sea. That would be nice to see, and a little more roundness of the serpent's body, so it doesn't look flat, would not be amiss either.

But seriously! GREAT work! You should be a concept artist. :D

@sweetlilgurlie: Wow! Thank you so much! :D It's my dream job to be a concept artist (God Willing), so it means so much to me that you would say that! :D :)
I should have looked at what the book said before I started drawing, but I didn't have it on hand at the time. :p Maybe I'll go back and see if I can add a few more details from the book description. :)
Thanks so much for taking the time to look at it, I'm really glad you like it! :D
