Some of you may remember this project from the old NW forum. I'm hoping that by restarting it here, I will have your continued support on the project and to see some new artist's illustrations as well.
For those of you that don't know, this was an idea I had for NW artists to get together and illustrate all seven Narnia books as a salute to the new covers that were to be released at the time. So far, we have made our way through five of the chronicles and are in the process of "The Silver Chair". All mediums, styles and techniques are open. There can only be one illustration for each scene, but a chpt. can have multiple illustrations within it. I'm hoping that SC and LB both can be completed, but I will need the help and support of an illustrative team, this is a group project.
As such, I need some help re-organizing work for "The Silver Chair". Those of you who have previously claimed scenes and have completed drawings, please let me know (I foolishly forgot to make a spare list on our progress ). This way I can rebuild the list and see where we left off. As a big thanks to Mehinen, I now have a copy of the old SC list, so here is where we are, with a few new additions:
1.Behind the Gym (Narnia_Fan12: Escaping the Bullies), (2nd to One: Out of this World)
2. Jill is Given a Task (RoseRed: Thirst)
3. The Sailing of the King (Narnia_Fan12: Meeting Glimfeather)
4. A Parliament of Owls (lloveFauns), (Karis Tanksley: Green, Green as Poison) (Adeona: Drifting Off)
5. Puddleglum (Mehinen: Meeting a Marshwiggle), (Adeona: Jill’s Rude Awakening)
6. The Wild Wastelands of the North (Meltintalle: Eustace, Jill, and Puddleglum Cross the Bridge)
7. The Hill of the Strange Trenches (Mehinen: Journey to Harfang)
8. The House of Harfang (EDMUNDpevensiee)
9. How They Discovered Something Worth Knowing (Adeona: The Giant’s Cookbook)
10. Travels Without the Sun (Mehinen: The Approaching Ship)
11. In the Dark Castle (Theophilus: The Hour of Sanity)
12. The Queen of Underland (Valiant_Lucy: Prepare the Fire), (Lion's Emblem: Rillian's Battle with the Serpent Witch)
13. Underland without the Queen (Mehinen: Rillian Views the Underland)
14. The Bottom of the World (2nd to One: The Earthmen's Journey), (eves_daughter: Rillian, Eustace, and Coalblack)
15. The Disappearance of Jill (Narnia_Fan12: The Disappearance of Jill)
16. The Healing of Harms (DancingPrincesses: A Dwarf’s Breakfast), (Mehinen: Meeting in Aslan's Country)

If no one has already done it, I'd like to do an illustration for Chapter 13 of Prince Rilian and Eustace on Coalblack.
I have found a few pictures of mine for this project:
here's the other version of it:
By the way, I finally found the old thread . Here's the link:
http://209.210.60.109/forum/forum_posts ... 15483&PN=1
(It most likely doesn't work, but it takes you to the old forum and then the thread can be found if you take the option that shows the posts for the last six month and then the option that arranges posts by the topic starter.) I wonder if I breaked some rule by posting so many pictures in one post...

I think that scene is still open eves_daughter. I can't remember all the previous drawings . I'll add your request as a temp for now, just to make sure it hasn't already been claimed (I think it will work out alright though).
Oh great, Mehinen . You'll have to call up all the titles you chose for me again (and probably chpts. as well). I'll add them to the list as best to my knowledge (I'm putting in title names on a complete whim). I have a favor to ask of you, I'd greatly appreciate the assistance. Unfortunately, the link to the old forum doesn't work for me. If you could possibly go back to the old thread and find my old list for SC (should be in one of the last couple of pages). I'd greatly appreciate a PM of the list, so that I can quickly update the new one with all the talented artists and illustration names. I would be most grateful for your help here, but please don't feel obligated to do so.

This sounds like fun! Does anyone have all or some of the illustrations for the previous books (MN, HHB, etc) saved? It would be a pity if all that work was lost.
Can I do the scene in Something Worth Knowing with the Giant's cookbook?

I personally do not have all the links saved for all previous book illustrations Adeona (but, I will be going back asap to save as many links as I can). However, all of our previous illustrations can be viewed at: http://www.geocities.com/plovercave/index.html . Unfortunately though, this site will not be able to last for very long due to geocities making changes. We're trying to figure out a new location though.
As for SC, the Something Worth Knowing chpt is completely open. Please feel free to illustrate the Giant's cookbook scene . I look forward to seeing the end result. I'll go ahead and put you down on the list as well.

Here is my Giant's Cookbook scene. I would like to do another one too. I'll have to think about which one, though!
I wanted to put something on the wall behind the table, but couldn't think of anything good. Any suggestions? I can edit and repost.
Edit: I thumbnailed a slightly larger version:

Hmmm, I've drawn a few silver chair pics (being my fav. book, but I've been surpassed by chroniclogical order ; D) Very good all! You might think mine came from cave man drawings
:music: risk it all cuz I'll catch you if you fall... if my heart was a house you'd be home :music:
I really like the cookbook, Adeona!
I think I could do something for chapter 13. I have a sketch of Rilian looking from the castle's window, it would be quite easy to turn it into a "proper" drawing .

Mehinen: Beautiful drawings! I love the third one. The snow looks so real.
Adeona: Awesome job! Your layout and perspective are great. The table looks really solid. Proportions look good too. I like how Puddleglum is much taller than the children. I absolutely love Eustace's stance and costume!
I'll try to finish up my drawing sometime this weekend.
Looks great Adeona. I think that the BG looks fine, I don't think that you need to add anything extra to the wall back there. Nice work
Sounds good Mehinen. I'll add your name to chpt. 13 .
No rush eves_daughter
Please feel free DancingPrincesses. That scene is still open.
Seems to me that we can start setting up a deadline for SC now that all the chpts have an illustration claim.

Here is my A Parliament of Owls illustration, Drifting Off. I think I like it better then Giants' Cookbook.
Mehinen: your illustrations are really good. All of them have the appropriate mood for what they are portraying. My favorite is Meeting Puddleglum. I like how you positioned the kids. And Jill's cloak is very nice. Good job!

I know that it may be a tidbit early to ask this since you guys are still on SC. But, could I have the chapter in LB called How Help came to the King. It's were they go to the secret tower.
I have already drawn the picture. Here it is:
I met Georgie and Skandar AND saw the film in one evening.
Another great illustration Adeona and such a quick turnaround. I like the fact that you didn't make the direct focus on Jill and that there's a lot of room to explore. There are a couple of things I want to mention, just to keep in mind as future reference. I like the "camera angle" that you chose to set up your scene. I think there needs to be a bit more of the top of the bookshelf and bed to be seen at this high angle though. Also, the bed doesn't seem to have a whole lot of depth to it (seems to be right up against the wall. This would be a little difficult to actually sleep in). I know, perspective is really hard to get just right (I struggle with it all the time). I think all your detail work is working superbly (with the flames in the fireplace and details to the window pane). Nice work .
A great LB illustration Edmund P, but you're right, we're not quite that far yet. I can't guarantee you that scene just yet, but defintiely keep it in mind. It's definitely an illustration I want to see included in LB, so be patient and remember it for when LB does start .
