I like the idea, too... I got encouraged by your opinion, indeed it would contribute to the sense of Black Knights and Lady's importance and grandeur underlined in ominous sense... I'll try to give it a go in colouring process in Photoshop and see how it works out :D Thanks!

:-o Wow, Beginte, this is gorgeous! I am always impressed by your work and this is no exception. The chain mail and the gauntlets especially caught my attention - both of which I find extremely difficult to draw, but you handled them exceptionally! The detail on this is stunning, and I absolutely love the concept (especially the snakes!!). I'd love to join the 2013 Visor Campaign! ;) Have you thought about making graphics for it?

Oh, thank you! :D I'm so very happy you enjoy my work! Oh, for some strange reason the gauntlet was extremely easy for me to design and draw and I very much enjoyed it, but the mail chain was indeed a nightmare! I'm glad you like the snakes :) Thanks for liking the campaign and cool nickname you made for it - 2010 Visor Campaign! Might add it to my signature :D Oh, I made some signature pics in the siggy thread, though they're all with my blackening work on Peter's LWW armour. But after I color this picture in Photoshop I'll definitely 'market' it into graphics ;)

I'm very impressed you designed that armor yourself! It looks like something that could actually be used in the film! :D Excellent idea for the insignia too!

And no, I don't envy you drawing all that chain mail. You kept everything looking so clean and sharp despite all the precision needed for the little details!

this is fantastic! I LOVE the design on his shoulder. are you sure you shouldn't also put this is the costume forum? I'm sure us costumers could have fun discussing it? ;)

Grief for the movies made me abandon narniaweb...but I'm so glad to be back!
Many thanks to the wonderful Lady Eowyn for making my sig/av.

Beginte: Oh wow, usually gauntlets and the like are extremely hard for me to draw - then again, I have trouble with hands in general. Goodness, I've never drawn chain mail but I am impressed by your undertaking of the task! I'm sure it must have been terribly difficult! You still did an amazing job though, and I still love this picture!

I am so excited about this campaign. I put a note in my signature, and I'd love to help support it in any way possible! I can't wait to see the graphics you make for this, either - like I said, I'm a huge fan of your work. :)

That is a very excellent drawing Beginte! The snake insignia on the arm is a nice touch. I would like a December 2012 Visor though, but I can be realistically patient for 2013. ;)

Yay, thank you so much for all the comments, guys! :D

Aravanna, thank you! It was a bit of hard work, but I hugely enjoyed designing the armor, combining different styles and making it match the Black Knight's character, but also Rilian's :) Yay, thank you! :D Since this is what I would love the armour to look, I'd be happy to see something like this in the actual film :) Oh, yes, the mail chain was a pain, but necessary for the complete effect.

RoseRed, thanks! :D I'm happy you like it! Heh, I fear that if I put it in the costume thread I'd be torn to shreds ;) I might give it a shot though... do they accept drawings there?

MountainFireflower, thank you! Hands are sometimes hard and sometimes easy for me to draw, it's weird. I'm glad you liked the gauntlets! Oh, the chain mail was not so much difficult as it was borning ;) Oh, thanks for joining the campaign, it's an honour! I'll try to post some more SC graphics soon :)

stateofgreen, thanks! Oh, I'm glad you like the carving on the pauldron, I thought it would be fitting, I had two or three versions of the snake pattern, but I decided for this one and I'm glad you like it :) I know, I was tempted to assign my campaign for December 2012, but given the length of the pre-production period and the fact that SC is still not green-lit (which I hope will happen soon!), I decided for 2013... I hope it will be early 2013 though :D

Great illustration Beginte. I absolutely love the design and detail that you have put into the 'Black Knight's' armor. It has such a Narnian feel to it, but still stands on its own. The snake motif looks awesome. I never thought of a cobra being represented as the snake of the Lady of the Green Kirtle, but it works really well here (certainly puts another persepctive on it for me). The detail in the chainmail rings is also amazing, really makes the image "pop". I also really like the feel of the pose, how his hand clasps the bottom of his visor. I'm not sure on some of the anatomy, something just feels stiff. Don't get me wrong, overall it's fantastic (I especially like his right hand), but something is coming off as stiff for me. I'm thinking that the neck may be too straight, which gives the sense of being placed on the shoulders instead of "flowing" into them. Again, I couldn't say for sure because I'm not looking at the actual drawing itself (it's much different to see a piece in person rather than on a computer screen). That being said, this is definitely a piece that I enjoy looking at over and over again. Nice work .

Lion's Emblem, thank you very much :) I'm very happy it has a Narnian feel to it, I was doing my best! I'm glad you like the snake motif! I gave very much thought to the 'upright' snake species, I was very against cobra since the snake is very popular and overused in modern art, but eventually decided to use it, because it somehow managed to look fitting. Also, cobra is the dancing snake, it is somehow personified with music because of snake charmers (even though now we know cobras are deaf and react to movement of instrument instead music) and it goes well with LotGK's lute. Oh, well, I say he's bound to look stiff... you try to be all lax and easy in a very complicated and heavy tin ;)) Thanks for liking it though :) One day I'll color it, right now I'm working on another poster-like drawing, this one featuring both the Black Knight and Green Lady.

Narnian_Archer, thank you! Wow, I'm so happy you like it so much! And to be honest, the research was actually done in about two days, heh. Thanks again!

As I said, another poster-style drawing coming soon, featuring both the Black Knight and LotGK!

Wow, thank you!!! :D I'm so happy you like this! I loved doing all the details on the armor, I'm glad you like them. I'll be posting another SC drawing soon, not as good as this one, but I hope still not eyesore enough not to be looked at ;)
