Here it is, as promised :D

The portrait of the Black Knight in full armour from waist up! It was a challenge as glorious as it was torturous, but I really enjoyed it :)

His armet I designed and re-designed several times. I wanted it to be menacing but also somehow interesting, sly, so to speak, with snake-like interesting mystery. If an armet can be called handsome, I wanted it to be that ;))

I wanted him to be as completely enclosed in an armour as possible, and it proved very difficult, I can't count all the pictures, photos and old carvings I browsed from as many perspectives as possible, and I think I managed to reach the effect I desired... I especially enjoyed inventing the metal gauntlet for him :D The motif of ouroboros worked onto his pauldron popped into my head suddenly and I thought it would be quite perfect, since it not only is a snake, but also represents eternity and fate looping over and over, and I felt the Green Lady wanted him forever.

This is part of my fan campaign for SC - 'Let him lift his visor in 2013' :D

I hope you like it! Comments are loved! :D

Whoa, nicely done, Beginte!!! I love his armor! It looks so elegant and mysterious, especially the helmet and gauntlet. Neat idea with the snakes! And awesome job with the shading - the way the light is reflecting off of the armor makes it really look like metal! I can tell you really did your research on the armor. I really hope to see more SC pictures! :D

Silver the Wanderer, thank you :D I worked sooo hard on the armour, I'm so glad you like it! I was doing my best to make it mysterious and ominous yet interesting and with a touch of elegancy, I'm so happy you like it! I'll also be coloring this picture in Photoshop with as much realism as I can, though it will take a lot of time. But I'll post the color version one day :) I'll definitely post more SC pictures, I have 3 more ideas already :D Come, join the campaign ;) Let him lift his visor in 2013! I can't wait for them to green-light SC.

Windsong, aw, thank you! I'm so glad you like it :) There will be more SC drawings from me to come, Rilian's portrait and the Black Knight armour were just the beginning!

Oh Wow!!! :-o I just love your details in your drawings Beginte! You literally need to apply for a job on the SC set as the storyboard and concept artist, you're just too good! I really love the serpent detail on Rilian's armor. It shows that LOGK obviously made it by magic or something and that is her imprint. I love and adore this!

It makes me wonder if you'll ever draw Tirian. *hint hint* ;;) ;)

Wow, Beginte, that's neat! You did a really good job. The armor is very real looking, and the snake design is perfect! The hand lightly touching the visor is very good. Your slogan is catchy, too. ;;)

DamselJillPole, haha, thanks! Oh, by all means, show me how to do it and I'll be glad to apply ;) Thank you so very much for liking this! I worked really hard :) Tirian? Hmmm, I've never thought of drawing him, but... why not? Once I have some spare time among my business and my Black Knight campaign I'll give it a shot! :D

Adeona, thank yoy! :D I was doing my very best on the armor, and I must say it's the first time I've drawn such complete armor I'm so glad you like the hand touching the visor, it didn't come out as curiosity-piquing as I hoped, but I'm very glad you like it! It's a part of my future design of coloring the piece and turning it into a fan poster with the slogan. Why, thank you, I'm glad you think it's catchy! :D *feels cool* You're welcome to join the purely fan campaign, just for fun :)

Good work! I really like the shading and the level of detail. The mail shirt is magnificent, the folds in it make it look very real, excellent work with that (but why are the metal links smaller between shoulder and elbow than elsewhere?). The amount of research you did can be clearly seen in the picture; everything is very precise, especially the "glove" (I don't know the correct term)! I'm not sure about the snake, though... Possibly it needs a tiny bit of shading (thicker and thinner lines?) to match the other details?

Oh Wow this looks Awesome Beginte! :D
First of all I Love the position you chose for him (Especially his hand touching his visor)! :D
Your shading as always is Fantastic!
I’m glad you made him hardly visible inside, it adds to the Mysteriousness.
I Love the snake design, very fitting for Rillian! ;)
I can’t wait to see what this will look like in color! :)
And I really cant wait to see the other three you have planned! :D
Great Job, and like Adeona said great slogan! :)

Mehinen, thanks! I worked hard on the mail chain. Oh, those were the first ones I drew, and then I decided the size needs to be bigger and forgot (and partially was sick of it and didn't want to do it again :p ) to change the ones above elbow... ;)) Oh, the glove is gauntlet, I'm sooo glad you like it, it's mostly my personal design and I worked a bit to figure it out to be metal but allow to close hand into a fist. You mean the snake carved on his pauldron (the thing on his shoulder joint)? It's a carving, so it can't be defined... in the colored version it'll be a bit less visible, here I just outlined it to show it's here. Or do you mean the snake wrapped around his arm below? It's a flat piece of armor with just relief of snake carved into it, too.

7chronicles, aww, thank you! :D I immediately knew I wanted to draw him from profile, and then though it would be a nice teasing touch to make him touch his visor, though it didn't come out as curiosity-prodding as I wanted, heh. Oh, yes, I wanted him to be as completely 'tinned' as possible! A bit mystery and a bit like some elaborate torture. It will take long to colour (I'm bad at coloring metal, but I'll try), but I certainly intend to make it colour and turn into graphics :D Thanks, glad you like the slogan! Come join the fan campaign if you like, just for fun :) My next SC work will be up in just a few minutes...

*jaw drops* Wow. Just wow. :-o

This is gorgeous! :D The armor is simply stunning--there's such a menacing elegance to it. I love how you've shaped the armor to look almost viper-ish, even in the parts that don't have the snake symbol. And the amount of sheer detail is fantastic...every time I look at it, I see something I hadn't before! ;)

Oh, thank you I'm so glad you like it! I was doing my best on the armor, I really enjoyed designing it! Thank youuu! I was hoping it would be a bit snake-like! :D I loved coming up with all the details and squeezing in as many of them as possible ;) Initially I even considered making the armor covered in carvings imitating snake skin scales, but decided against it, since it would come out too crowded (not to mention my hand would fall off from all the drawing ;) ) Thank you very much again!

That's not a bad idea; very rich and expensive, adding to the picture of the Black Knight and Lady being, well, grand and important and a little bit out of place... I can imagine what that might look like (black with gold touches, rather Italian in style, I think, though the German tournament armor was quite impressive as well), but I certainly can't imagine rendering it in pencil either!

Fantastic work, especially on the armor. Your attention to detail and composition and the meaning in each line is inspiring. :D
