A portrait of Rabadash...
First off, it was hard work. Not so much the sole drawing techniques as designing him... I wanted to make him handsome in a way, to give him features that can be pleasing and amicable if he pretends. After all, he won over all the Pevensies, Susan and Edmund started suspecting him only after they saw him in his own palace, revealing more of his true self. In this drawing, he's rather vicious, so of course he doesn't look too amicable But I hope that I gave him features that, if arranged into a pleasant and good-hearted expression, make it understandable why Susan - a reasonable person - trusted him.
Second off, I loved doing his turban!!! It's basically a Saracen pattern, but with some additions of my own. The bead thingies under the feathers were a last moment idea
I hope you like!

I like it well, indeed! My favorite part is the turban; your feathers are beautiful, and so is the draping of the fabric.
Would I be a total geek if I told you the main reason I look if fan art is to see if you've posted anything new?

Oh, great job! The turban looks perfect (good idea adding the beads), and the earring is a very nice touch (kind of gives off a pirate vibe! ). Also, I think you succeeded in giving Rabadash a potentially nice face - while sporting a cruel smirk.

I really like it! I think it looks very realistic, his face I mean. I like how you added the feathers as well! He looks quite evil while still looking like he could be handsome (hence why Susan would fall for him.) Good job! I think it is excellent.

I think you captured Rabadash's looks very greatly. There is that sincere look in his eyes that could make Susan trust him and yet has the evil and betraying smirk about him. Nicely done!

Wow! Beginte, this is very nicely done! I love how you portray Rabadash in the drawing. Based on your descriptions, I really think you conveyed the 'handsome, yet powerful' look that you were going for. His facial expression seems kind of sinister and scheming as well. If you look at him for a few moments and focus on his features, he's actually kind of eerie! Your details are lovely as well! I particularly love the beads on the turban, his mustache, and the feathers atop his turban; the spacing and alignment for all three of the designs is perfect! And I rather like that group of beads that you added under the feathers! Great work!
Oh, and by the way, I find your avie quite amusing!

Yay, thanks for all the comments, guys!
sweetlilgurlie, aww, thank you! Oh, I just loved doing the turban, I'm nuts about doing folding in clothes, so you can imagine how hyped up I was about the turban Oh, this is so sweet of you! I'm really touched and honoured
Adeona, thank you! I'm really glad you like it, and that you like the beads, I feel they're a detail that adds much to the whole drawing Ah, the earring, somehow it felt just right for me, and I made it shaped as a scimitar Well, roughly Thanks, I'm glad his face could convey endearing appearance and make people trust him! I worked sooo hard on this!
Tarkheena, thank you very, very much Oh, you can draw like this, all it takes is practice... I never took any drawing course, I just always loved to draw, and I practiced drawing humans for 5 years before I reached the level of making them human-like, not crippled apes Thanks, I definitely plan more drawings of Narnia!
Valiant, thanks! I'm so glad you think he looks like that, I worked for two days to finally reach such effect... yes, I wanted him to have features that could clearly show why Susan trusted him and fell for him, plus he had to be somehwat handsome, too.
DamselJillPole, thank you! I'm glad he came out like that, I worked my drawing arm off to make him like that! I'm really glad you like it
Quinlin!!! So nice to see you, I haven't seen you for ages! Whoa, sorry I hope you remember me Thank you so very much for liking my drawing and for thinking that he does look like that... I worked very hard to reach this effect! Oh, I adored doing the turban, it was my favorite part of the whole drawing Haha, thanks for finding my av amusing, I was hoping someone would
Thanks again, guys! You're great I slowly plan to make more HHB drawings, perhaps something with Susan and Edmund and Rabadash in one picture.

This is Awesome Beginte!
First off you defiantly nailed his character.
I really Love the shading in his face and his beard looks very good!
The Turban is beautify done!
And the beads really add to it!
I love all the folds in the cloths you draw!
Awesome job as always! Can’t wait to see more!

Thank you very much! Yay! Oh, I was working my drawing arm off to make him look like he should, it took me 2 days to get him right! The beard was a nightmare, too, I think I tried out 5 different versions... I'm glad you like the turban, I loved doing it! I just love doing folds in clothing, so you can imagine how hyped up I was about the turban I'll try to draw something more soon, I'm getting ready to properly nail my next poster-like SC drawing, featuring both the Black Knight and LotGK. I also look forward to seeing some more amazing art from you! Thanks again!

Ooh! Very nice job, Beginte! As others have said before, I think you nailed his "handsome yet vicious" look. The wrinkles on his turban are good, and I like the detail you put into it like the beads and feather! Oh yes, feathers. I have a strange obsession with feathers.
The only thing I noticed is that perhaps his ear is a bit too far up on his head. But I didn't see that right away, so I don't think it's much of a problem.
As always, I look forward to seeing more of your work!

That is very nice indeed, Beginte. I really like the earring that you've given him, and you've really captured a look of pride on his face that is exactly fitting with the character! Well done!

Oh, very nice illustration Beginte. Where do I begin? I absolutely love the expression on his face, it's so creepy (and I mean that in a good way). It certainly lends to the other side of his character and his hidden agendas. Yes, I do believe you have accomplished his dual character. Without the sinister look (it is hard to get past), his features provide another side of the character. I don't know exactly how, but it is there. In terms of design, the look is perfect, very Calormen/desert bandit feel. The details and linework in the feathers and turban are superb. The beads and earring add nice touches. In a way, both additions seem to add to Rabadash's dual character, with one being more prince like while the other presents a bandit feel (maybe that's just my thought, but it works really well). The linework in his beard is fantasic and wonderfully detailed. The shadings also look good and add a complete feel. Nice work .

Silver the Wanderer, thank you so much! I really did want him to be handsome yet vicious I just love drawing folds on clothes, so the turban made me twitch in ecstasy Haha, I know what you mean, I'm rather fond of feathers myself Oh, I know... I must admit I cold-bloodedly made the ear too far up, to expose the earring better...
DiGoRyKiRkE, your name makes my fingers lose their rhythm when I write it I'm very happy you like my drawing! I was hoping to reflect his character in the features I gave him, I'm glad I managed!
Lion's Emblem, yay, thank you! I know, creepiness is an advantage in this case I worked very, very hard in designing his features to make them capable of becoming pleasant and appealing, I'm so glad you think I managed to achieve that I'm so glad you liked the little additions from me! I was hoping for exactly that effect, reinforcing the Prince feeling, but at the same time adding a bandit touch to him. The beard gave me trouble, I had several different versions before I finally settled for this one. Thanks so much again!
De_De, thank you! Oh, I'm happy it's close to your imagination of him!
Thanks again, everyone, your comments mean the world to me!
