Here is another Drawing for Beginte's SC Fan Campaign!
I decided to draw Old King Caspian.
I still have not decided if I like this picture or not.
It may look a little funny around the edges because it was really smudged and I tried to clean it up.
Two notes:
His crown is not the one from PC because I thought as he became older he would wear a lighter crown and since he was going on a voyage it would be easier to wear on board the ship.
I also thought maybe he would have saved his crown from PC for Rillian, but after Rillian was taken it was just a reminder to all who saw it that he was gone as it sat untouched at Cair Paravel.
The other thing is, I based this off of Ben Barnes and since in my opinion Ben has a very youthful look to him, I felt Caspian would age very well so he may not look very, very old or as frail as in the book.
I also thought he would have aged more in the face after RD died and Rillian went missing, all the worrying and sleepless nights would have aged him I'm sure.
Hope you guys like it!

Whoa! *cools off* Great work! As always, the amount of details in your work boggles me! I definitely love this picture! Though I know how it feels not to be able to decide whether you like your own work or not... let me at least assure you I definitely love it! The idea with the crown is great, a really good detail that would add to the depth of his character in the movie!
I know, Ben Barnes despite all his handsome appearance is awfully hard to draw, and I can only imagine how much awfully harder to age - so big applause to you for achieving that so greatly! He does look alike, but not enough to make it 'artificial', forced. He looks different just enough to believe this is the old Caspian, great job! Your details are amazing! I really love them, it's so beautiful, from the hairs, through the crown down to the glimpses of clothing - The shading is amazing, too! I only would make the crescent wrinkles under his eyes a little thinner, but that's just a personal thing, so it doesn't matter
Again - amazing work! A great addition to our campaign, my friend I'll be getting round to drawing the "Don't be an ass" piece (I've always loved that bit, Eustace is so delightfully silly there!), I hope it'll be ready soon.
I've seen the movie 9 times!!! (PC)
I've seen the movie 7 times!!! (VoDT) And loved it!

I'm so happy you like it Beginte!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought the crown was a good idea.
It's funny because it is usually easier for me to draw older people because of all the wrinkles.
But I was stuck for a while trying to figure out what was to old and what looked to young, I'm so happy to hear I got it right!
I think the reason I'm not sure if I like it or not is because I spent so much time looking at it! I feel a little better about it now that my eyes have had a brake.
Oh good, I didn't want him to be to recognizable, since Eustace could not even recognize him until he was told who he was.
Thanks again so much for letting me join in your great SC Fan Campaign! It has been so much fun!
Oh, I can't wait to see it! Yes I Love Eustace there too! Great idea for a drawing, Can't Wait!

I love that drawing Adding the crown was definitely a great choice. I love the detail of not only the crown, but of the wrinkles and the beard. Great job, as always
Wrong will be right when Aslan comes in sight / At the sound of his roar, sorrows will be no more / When he bares his teeth, winter meets its death / And when he shakes his mane, we shall have spring again
Wow, it is very good! Good job. It has a lot of detail and it looks quite a bit like Ben Barnes (at least if he was an old man .) I agree with Lucy that the crown looks wonderful.

An excellent drawing... I think it's your best so far. In terms of drawing skill I mean. You just keep getting better!

This is so cool! I love the detail - wrinkles, hair, and crown - and I think you aged him very well. You also managed to capture an indescribable air of kingliness that all Narnian royals must have. Great job!

I'm so glad you like the drawing!
@Tarkheena: Thank You so much! I'm glad you like the way I aged him, it was a challenge, but fun.
Oh, Thank You, I'm so happy to hear he looks like a Narnian King!
@Silver the Wanderer: Thanks! I'm happy you like his eyes, I tried to make his eyes just like Ben's because I think someones eyes are the one thing that does not change as one ages. I'm so happy you like it!

This is an amazing drawing, 7chronicles!!! The details are beautiful and so lifelike. The image almost looks like it's going to jump off the page! I especially like your work on the crown; it's so beautifully Narnian, and again the details are simply exquisite! Goodness, his face and hair appear so real as well; as does the clothes he is wearing! This must have taken ages, (no pun intended ) to draw this!!
This drawing of Caspian definitely does bare some close resemblances to Ben Barnes. Even in his old age, you can still see the handsomeness and lingering youthfulness, as you mentioned, within the features of his face. His eyes convey all that he has endured during his rule, and the knowledge that he has gained through all these years of life in Narnia.
Again, lovely work!
We have nothing, if not belief.

@Quinlin: Thank you so much! I'm so glad you like it!
I'm glad the crown looks Narnian, I was hoping it would!
LOL, It did take a while to draw, it was hardest to finish the details near the end.
Oh I'm so happy you think it looks like Ben Barnes!
I really wanted his eyes to stand out and be the one thing that remained youthful.
