So, here's my first attempt at making a wallpaper.

http://s924.photobucket.com/albums/ad87/daughterKing/Narnian%20graphics/wallpapers/?action=view¤t=memorieswp.jpg

It's a little bit more crowded than I intended it to be, and I have no idea if I made it the right size and obviously I need to work on my blending, but other than that, what do you think? C&CC

That's really beautiful! I think you did a good job at blending. There are some lines that need to be worked out, but this is amazing for a first try!
I love the screenshots you chose for it! They really work well together!
The only criticism I have is that the pictures look like they've been stretched vertically. You might need to adjust your screen before you make another wallpaper so it looks right (It's what I had to do).

Nice work! You did a really good job blending!

I opened it in photoshop to investigate the stretching problem - apparently photobucket actually changed the pixel aspect ratio to make the image aspect ratio that of a normal photo. Using a different image host (I suggest http://img.dahoster.org/ ) should solve the stretching issue. :)

Again, nice job!

Nice wp daughter of the king, wonderful for your first try. Overall design and layout look good. I don't think it's too crowded at all. The only place that I think this becomes a bit of an issue is at the very center with the PC image of Lucy. At first, I couldn't understand why the image was there because of everything else that was going on. It might be beneficial to see a bit more of the Stone Table in the PC image to help make the concept of the piece a bit clearer right from the get-go for the viewer. Overall, you have done a very nice job of blending the imagery. I agree with Eustace+Jill that there a couple of places that need a tad bit of adjusting. The only part that I find a bit distracting for blending is the edge with the images of Aslan's eye and when he has risen. Only because it is such a hard edge and Aslan's eye draws me right to it. The soft edges do help in the blending though and you've done a marvelous job blending in the overhead image of the Stone Table (nice work here because there is so much going on in the image. It just looks like it belongs there in the piece).

The concept of the piece is great and you have chosen perfect examples of imagery and text to match. Coloration, font choice, and layout on the text all look good. It's very clear that you have a strong sense of ideas for wps and how you want to organize them. Once you work out some of the more technical stuff, I believe you will have the best of both worlds in wp making. Nice work on this one and I look forward to seeing more from you in the future.

Thanks for the comments! :)

ruralnarniafan:So, what is the right size for a wallpaper? Because it might not have been photobucket changing it; I might have made it the wrong size to begin with. :p

Eustace+Jill: how do I adjust the screen?

Lion's Emblem: Yea, I noticed that hard edge, but I couldn't get rid of it for some reason. I probably just need more practice.

Thank you. I'll probably try this idea again some time when I get a bit better.

Eustace+Jill: how do I adjust the screen?

It depends on what you have on your computer. (I have Windows Vista) But you do it by going into your display settings and moving the dial there. On Windows Vista you do this by right-clicking on your desktop, hitting personalize, display settings. What you adjust it to depends on the size of your screen. I have a wide screen, so I had to set it to 1360x768. You could try that. If you're on a desktop instead of a laptop, you may also need to adjust it on the screen itself afterward. You can do that by hitting the menu tab on your screen and going into ImageControl

That should make the graphics-making much easier! :)
