I’m starting a really big project that will take some time to finish and I would Love for everyone’s help with it if you guys have the time!
At the end of The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, for the ending credits Alan Lee drew portraits for each of the cast members, here is an example (they are so awesome!) :
I wanted to try the same concept for the Narnian cast.
So these are my attempt at drawing the Narnia Credits.
I will continue to update as I draw more.
I plan on starting with The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe cast and then moving on to Prince Caspian and eventually The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
I'll start with Peter, but I'm having a hard time deciding which one to use, if you guys could help me out telling me which one you like better, I'd be very Thankful!

7chronicles: These are all really beautiful! I think you portrayed Peter very well, it looks a lot like him and the details are all just stunning! The amount of intricacy on Peters armor and clothes is really, really amazing! I also love how you placed Peter's sword in the middle and the charging army on the other side of the drawing is also spectacular! I love how realistic each character looks and the perspective and sizing are very effective. Lastly I like how all the drawings eventually fade away into the paper...it looks more mystical somehow!
Oh and I voted for the white one, because I like how the pencil stands out against the simple background...it was a hard to pick because I like the darker ones as well!
Great job!

Faded looks the most like your inspiration image, but I also really like white.
You've done an absolutely stunning job; great choices for the images. I am in awe of the fact that your metal looks like metal! I think you're my new hero.

@Quinlin: Thank you! I really appreciate that you took the time to look at it and give me your opinion! I’m glad you like it!
@Meltintalle: Thanks! That’s really nice of you!
I’m really glad you like it! Thanks for taking a look at it and helping me out!
I decided to go with the White since that is everybody’s favorite and it does remind me of winter.
Here is Susan’s Credit, I wasn‘t sure if I should have added her Horn or not.
I didn’t know if it would make it look to crowded.
Hope you like it!

Wow 7chronicles, these are VERY nice! Marvelous details! You did a great job with the faces - I know a lot of people have difficulty drawing those. Susan's hair especially is simply stunning! Again, love love love!!! I look forward to seeing more!
Are you going to string them together into a "movie" of credits when you're done?

Oh, beautiful! You did an awesome job 7! I especially love Susan's hair for some reason... And I like it without the horn! I agree, I think it would look too crowded with it on there.
I also like the "Faded" Peter one best. It does look more like your inspiration, but it also doesn't compete with the text as much.
Can't wait for the rest of them!

Aw, I don't get to make a pick for the style. Oh well, I give my two cents anyhow.
The entire set looks great 7chronicles and I really like how you have taken the original idea and are working to make it your own. I personally really like the 'Clear' and 'Sepia' treatments to the image. Both really bring out the linework and the value (as a toned BG will do with black and white shadings and linework). That's why I'd like to see another version on toned paper that also brings out the white elements as well as the black linework (perhaps in a later PC version?). I do however see the value in the 'White' version as a connection to the snow in LWW.
The Susan version also look great. Hmm, I can see where adding the horn would make it too crowded. I am glad that you didn't include it though. Not for the sake of crowded-ness, but for the fact of having Susan's bow and quiver matches up to the version with Peter (having included just Rhindon instead of his shield as well). Nice work on all variations and I look forward to seeing the completed set.

Nice layout on the Susan piece. I agree that the horn feels like it would be an unnecessary addition. (Though, I expect I would be equally enthusiastic if you had included it, so. )
Beautifully rendered details, as before. Still, this one looks a little... unfinished? along the top, just above her name. I can't tell if they're supposed to be flowers or butterflies. I don't think it's a big deal, just something I noticed.

@Silver the Wanderer: Thanks! I Love to draw hair!
Are you going to string them together into a "movie" of credits when you're done?
I was thinking of doing that!
I’m just trying to figure out where to upload the video once I’m done, so I can post it here when I'm done.
@Lady Courage: Thank You! I’m so glad you like it! I also felt “Faded” was the closest to what I was going for, and I think that it is the second favorite so I’m going to start posting both the faded and white versions.
@Lion’s Emblem: I’m glad you told me which one you like still, I had to chose quickly so I could post another picture. I really appreciate your opinion!
Its funny because my sister likes the “Faded” and “Clear” but my mom liked the “Sepia” and “White” and I couldn’t choose.
Glad I made the right choice and decided not to include the horn.

I would like to try that out, what color of toned paper would you suggest, Thanks!
@Pepper Darcy: Thank you so much!
@Narnian_Archer: Thanks, glad I’m so happy that you like them!
@Meltintalle: Thank You!
I also feel like something is missing from Susan’s, I like it, but I don’t know what else to add without it becoming to crowded.
But if you think of something for me to add, please let me know!
And unfortunately when I scanned my border drawing for Susan’s credit, it didn’t scan very well, so maybe in the future I will go back and see if I can darken it, Thank You for mentioning it!
Since some of you also like “Faded” I will post both the White and the Faded versions of each Credit!
I have updated my Susan post to include the “Faded” version.
And one more thing. I was thinking of using this picture for Lucy’s portrait.

What do you guys think?
And I also need help deciding what scene to put in the background of her credit.
If you guys have the time to help me out, Thanks again so much!

The darker version actually seems to smooth out the contrast in the border above Susan's name, so no complaints there.
*is more than happy to give advice* I think it's fun to get a peak into the thought process behind drawings. For Lucy's background image, I'd do her or Tumnus at the lamp post (because it's so iconic and really the only other idea that strikes me would be to include Aslan somehow), the way you did the charge on Peter's.
Are you planning on doing drawings for each member of the cast from each movie? If so, I would be against using that particular picture for Lucy; she's grown and changed in each movie and that progression ought to be evident in the drawings.
If the idea is just to represent the character as a whole... go for it. I really like that picture (and the whole scene, really.)

@Meltintalle: Oh good! I’m so glad it looks better!
I’m so glad for your advice, I’m going to need a lot of that for this project!
If the idea is just to represent the character as a whole... go for it. I really like that picture (and the whole scene, really.)
Yes this was my idea! I used pictures from PC for Peter and Susan’s portraits because they were the most up to date pictures of the characters, so the idea is to use pictures from VDT for Lucy, Edmund and I’m thinking Caspian as well.
My idea for the background pictures was to draw a scene that was a memorable moment for that character, or unique to that character.
So I really like your idea of using the lamppost scene for Lucy. But should that scene be with Lucy’s Credit or Mr. Tumnus’ Credit?
Lucy is a really hard one because she has a lot of memorable scenes and since she and Edmund are my favorite characters it makes it even harder to choose!
I really appreciate all the help!
If anyone has a picture in mind feel free to post the link.

I also like faded the most - I think it makes your drawings feel a little more complete, rather than just black and white. It's interesting how everyone has different opinions!
And I love that picture of Lucy!

Oooh, that's a neat idea! I like memorable scenes! Hmm. What if you did the lamppost scene for Mr. Tumnus, and for Lucy you could do her going into the wardrobe? (Just trying to find a way to fit that wardrobe in there since it's such an iconic image and a beautiful prop! )

I would like to try that out, what color of toned paper would you suggest, Thanks!
Sorry for the delay 7chronicles. I would say to definitely go with a midtone color. I personally prefer a mid gray because it's equally favorable to black and white (really great with charcoal and white chalk). A "brown paper bag" colored paper also works nicely if you're not looking for too strong of a white (really brings out the black nicely though). Now these aren't colors that I have personally tried, but I have seen really great pieces done with a slate blue or sap green (a connection to the woods in PC perhaps?) toned paper (though both were completed with several colors of chalk pastels, not just black and white). This might be something you'll want to experiment with (I'm not sure to what degree you have personally worked with chalk pastels or toned paper). Ultimately, it's up to you though.
